Title:
Fake Modern Day Christian Healers and False Teachers
Description: From the Food For Thought Series by John W BakerJust for clarification I want to make it clear that I believe God can and does heal some people today according to His will and purpose. There are some today who deny that. However the sign gifts given to believers at Pentecost have come and gone and are no longer being given to men today in the Dispensation of the Grace of God. Today we learn through Paul that God's grace is sufficient for us.With the setting aside of Israel and her kingdom program the purpose of the sign gifts are not needed for we walk by faith and not by sight. Israel (Jews) required signs because they were part of her program and were promised to the nation. However when Israel fell in un-belief God temporarily set her and her program aside and ushered in a new program where He is building the Body of Christ, the church today.Having said that I am persuaded that those who claim to have the gift of healing (and other sign gifts) are either deceived or are simply deceivers and many who make the claim just want to enrich themselves or make a name for themselves at the expense of those who may be suffering some physical or emotional problem and who fall prey to these fake healers and false teachers.
God heals people even today. But those wholesale and retailers of miracles and healing need to be warned, they are not doing God's work, rather it is used as business.
Hi jwb, I do luv hearing from you. Now, all I know is that...I'm a believer, and I couldn't leave Him if I tried!! And (being) a believer, you know, great things can happen! Yes, His grace (is) sufficient and we walk by faith, not by sight...but this power, this wonder working power working (within) causes great things to happen! I know this is silly, but I even made my "refrigerator" work when it went down. I laid my hands on it and prayed in the Name of Jesus and "commanded" it to function! Before I even finished PRAYING, that frig started humming away. So you see, signs truly DO follow those that "believe". !!
These were wonderful gifts given to the followers of Jesus who believed in His name. They were signs for Israel but that program was temp. suspended when Israel refused to repent (nationally). They were also part of the so-called great commission that has been replaced with our commission, as Ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor 5:18-21), we are to preach the gospel of the grace of God (not the gospel of the Kingdom)which is the gospel given to Paul (and us) to preach to the lost today.
The best "GOOD NEWS" is this - "Christ died for our sins" (1 Cor 15:3,4). Today God's grace is sufficient for us and we walk by faith and not by sight :) We do not require signs like the Jews did for none were promised us as members of the Body of Christ :)
Thanks for watching my friend and sharing your thoughts. I always love a comment when scripture is posted with it.
Excellent! Here's some more food for thought friend! [Mark 16:16-18]...16) He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17) And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18) they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Isn't that awesomely, powerfully GOOD NEWS!!)
