Forged by Conviction by Jeffrey Pinder
Description: About The Book
Forged by Conviction is a never before written,
chronologically accurate account of the birth and prominent rise of
the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia.
• Meet the
colorful personalities who helped to define and mobilize this great
movement for Gods glory.
• Discover how both church planting
and decentralization helped to carve what would become the
foundation of one of Americas most modern day struggles for biblical
inerrancy.
• Learn of the controversial and often courageous
struggle of many Southern Baptist men and women who were seemingly
cast as renegades by the liberal establishment.
• See how
their obedience to God and bold faith in Jesus Christ enabled them
to witness their dreams—initially written on a napkin at a local
restaurant—blossom into a great organization known as the Southern
Baptist Conservatives of Virginia.
Quotes to
highlight
“[E]very Southern Baptist in the United States
interested in the future of his own state convention will profit
immensely from the reading of this slender volume. …The book is a
story of men and women with faith in God, loyalty to Jesus Christ,
and genuine love for the Word of God.”
Dr. Paige Patterson,
President, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth,
Texas
“This book details how God moved Southern Baptist
churches and pastors in Virginia to take a firm stand against
Liberalism that was dominating our State and its churches.”
Dr.
Kelly J. Burris, Senior Pastor, Kempsville Baptist Church; Former
President of SBCV
“From the ground up, Pinder gives a candid
and captivating historical record with exceptional detail. …The
book spells out in great detail the decentralization model which is
blazing new trails in Southern Baptist Cooperative circles.”
Dr. Johnny Hunt, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Woodstock; Former
President, Southern Baptist Convention
“This story needs to be
told because of the lessons others can learn for the future. It also
demonstrates the need for commitment that it takes and the price to
be paid for doing the right thing scripturally.”
Bob C. Davis,
ThD., Evangelist, Virginia
