Films in which victims of bullying and rape take revenge on their victims have been shot regularly lately. And here there is nothing to surprise the sophisticated viewer with. Over the past 10 years, various variations on this theme have been described – the avengers were models, teenagers, special agents, even ghosts. And in terms of the plot, these paintings are basically similar to each other. The main question that can fuel the interest of viewers is how they will be tortured and how they will take revenge. That is, how openly both of these parts of a single film will be shown. And in a particular movie, all this is present in full, as one might have guessed when the 2014 goon trailer was released in Russian.
Nevertheless, this painting stands a little apart. The Bruiser 2014 movie is worth watching online, if only because it's Stephen King. And in his works there is not only black and white. And even in the "revenge theme" this horror master finds a place for psychological aspects. Usually the main characters of such films do not have any moral doubts. They're taking revenge because they're one hundred percent sure they're right. And the viewer, by the way, usually fully shares this confidence. But Stephen King suggests that we focus on the inner world of the main character, a young writer who unfortunately stopped the wrong car on the road and became a victim of rape. Having embarked on the path of revenge, women experience serious torments of conscience, which in itself is unusual for this genre. And secondly, she is frankly afraid of the consequences of her revenge. You must admit that these moments somehow didn't bother the authors and directors before. And as a result, a seditious thought slips through – and what is the difference between a person who commits a seemingly well-deserved act of retribution from his tormentor? After all, in fact, he becomes the same killer.
