Donald Trump in Bible Prophecy: China, Antichrist, and End Times

There is a lot of cognitive dissonance in my own mind over Donald Trump and his relationship with Communist China. Cognitive dissonance is a term that is used to describe the mental tension we feel when we try to support or believe two different ideas that contradict one another. The contradiction with Trump is that he and I both are outraged at the human rights abuses in communist China at the moment, and yet I am pretty outraged at Trump himself. So, should I be more supportive of him because of his statements in opposition to China, especially with regard to human rights abuses? Carrying on from what I was saying about cognitive dissonance, the opposite of cognitive dissonance is cognitive consonance. That is when two or more beliefs seem consistent with each other. A good quotation to sum up this Trump vs. China situation is the one that says, The enemy of my enemy must be my friend. If I like Trump, and we both saw China as the enemy, that would be an example of cognitive consonance. When Trump talks tough to Communist China, I start to seriously question my disgust at his administration and all that it stands for in the United States. He does seem to be about the only voice in the whole world that is prepared to talk tough with the Chinese leadership and address their abysmal record of disregard for human rights. So could he actually be the key to dealing with China? We need to look more closely at this in order to work out what is happening when Donald Trump talks tough to China. Is he seriously thinking of taking China on, even if it came to an all-out war? And could he possibly win such a war? Is he the kind of courageous hero that the world so badly needs today? American fundamentalism would have us believe exactly that. Everywhere, American evangelicals seem to be suggesting that God is going to use Donald Trump to steer the world back onto the right course. And they do this despite the fact that Trump's own personal life is a cesspool of pride, greed and immorality. They argue that God has used some highly flawed individuals in the past. Even King David was guilty of murder, and yet God forgave him and David moved on to be mightily used by God. Still, let's picture how this scenario could develop. China gets worse and worse, slaughtering hundreds of thousands or maybe even millions more of its own people. China then continues to dictate more and more terms for the rest of the world until extreme human rights abuses start happening in other countries as well. Countries all over the world start to fall under China's total control. Xi has become a world empire without firing a shot. And then Donald Trump steps in. He declares war on China, totally annihilating the leadership and thus freeing the world once again. That seems to be the picture that the American religious right Trump lovers imagine. But then you need to ask, where do they go from there? You see, these same people talk about Bible prophecy as though they believe that Jesus is returning very soon. So, is Trump Jesus? Is he going to usher in the kingdom of heaven? Or is he just a heroic world leader who arises shortly before Jesus returns You see right conservative Christian theories about Bible prophecy all teach that there will be an international human hero in the last days just before Jesus returns But they go on to teach that this international hero, just before Jesus returns, will, in fact, be a counterfeit messiah, the Antichrist himself. So whether it's a Chinese dictator or an American liberator, the story ends the same. Bad guy. That's pretty much the message of the revelation from start to finish. No matter which head you put on the beast, it's still going to be the beast at heart. Each new leader becomes worse than the one before. And yet the world, and that includes the church world, continues to put its hope in political solutions. The Hebrew prophet Daniel said, "...the Most High has set up the basest people to rule in the affairs of men." But the human race has great difficulty believing that rather simple and often obvious truth. Even those few individuals who may go into politics with the noblest motives eventually find themselves worn down by the machine until they become exactly what they set out to fight. There is a verse in the Revelation that illustrates this exact paradox as we are experiencing it at this point in history, and I'm going to attempt to explain it in this video. The verse says that ten kings will, in alliance with the Antichrist, hate a prostitute which is called Babylon, and they will destroy her with fire. There is rapidly growing support for a teaching that the United States is the modern-day equivalent of Babylon, which I will be illustrating as I go on. But first, if you have studied the Revelation at all, you will know that the beast and the prostitute that sits on the back of the beast are often described in similar ways. They are both regarded more or less as timeless bad guys, evidenced in the various empires of mankind throughout history. The woman, sitting on the back of the beast, illustrates just how close they are to being one and the same. And yet one of these two villains hates and destroys the other. Whatever disagreement Bible commentators may have about the details there is universal agreement that both of these characters are very nasty pieces of work. They are enemies of Christ and his followers. Yet one destroys the other, and that creates cognitive dissonance. That awkward contradiction we each feel in our minds when the enemy of our enemy turns out to be our enemy as well. Now I'm going to look more closely at these two enemies, as depicted in Bible prophecy and bring it back to Donald Trump and Communist China. In the Revelation, we have this picture of the Antichrist being assisted by ten countries in a form of world government that is, according to prophecy, different from any previous world empire. This union of ten nations agrees together with the Antichrist or the beast to do away with another world power that is described as a prostitute. a prostitute which had made rich all the merchants of the world. She is seen as the epitome of greed and the love of wealth. However, in destroying this whore, the beast that hated her actually becomes the whore reincarnated and it gains economic as well as political control of the entire world as a result. We have at this very moment in the real world an international governing body that is growing in power In particular its power resides in a council of 15 members Ten of them are rotating members from all the various nations of the world. At this stage, the ten rotating members of the United Nations Security Council are largely controlled by five permanent members. And it is those five permanent members which most clearly sum up the relevance of Bible prophecy to events happening in the world today. One of the permanent members is China, and Russia is another. China is symbolized by a dragon, and Russia is symbolized by a bear. Now, these two animals are referred to in Bible prophecy about the coming beast or Antichrist. The dragon, according to the 12th chapter of the Revelation, is the devil and the bear is described by the prophet Daniel as turning on its side and devouring three ribs. What could these three ribs be? Could they be part of the actual governing body of which the bear and the dragon are a part? You see, the other three members of the United Nations Security Council are all pro-American. They are England , America , and France . Ironically, all of these animals are mentioned in the same passage from Daniel as he sets the scene for the rise of the Antichrist. If you have been reading the passages on the screen, you may have noticed that so far, the rooster has not been mentioned. Certainly, France is the least known of all the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and probably has no more power than many of the rotating members, like India or Israel, or maybe even Australia. But Daniel describes one other animal that will have a role to play at this crucial point in human history. He says that it is a leopard and it has the wings of a fowl. So there it is, the rooster. France, represented by a rooster. But what about the leopard? This leopard is the only animal in the prophecy that is not clearly identifiable today on the United Nations Security Council. At least, not yet. But a panther and a leopard are two variations of the same animal. A panther is merely a black leopard, and it is the closest thing we have today to an animal that could represent the Third World. All those other nations besides the two, and now three great superpowers Russia, China and the United States. And France, unlike the other four permanent members of the United Nations Security Council would be most like the 200 or so lesser countries of the world after you move away from the superpowers. Daniel saw the eagle as being connected to the lion. The lion had eagle wings growing out of it, which symbolizes the United States growing out of the English colonies in America. Daniel also saw the fowl, or rooster, as being part of the leopard or panther which may represent the ten rotating members of the United Nations. Now, while the meaning of the leopard is not crystal clear the presence of each of the other animals on the United Nations Security Council precisely as they have been named, is nothing short of amazing. And these characters do appear to be the main characters in this final showdown between Babylon the whore and the final beast, the Antichrist. What an incredibly accurate description of the United Nations Security Council Ten nations plus the bear and the dragon all uniting together to destroy that great whore A whore who has raped the rest of the world economically in order to feed her own insatiable appetite for more and more delicacies. Every year, the Babylonian merchants compete with one another to come up with more and more expensive junk to make this Christmas more ridiculously materialistic than the one before. There have been fads like hot tubs and recreational vehicles, giant flat-screen TVs, drones, and more and more elaborate video games and simulators. The list is endless. The same thing happens with foods and fashions and cars and houses. Always they crave for more, and always without inner satisfaction. Sadly, it is all going to come to a tragic end very soon. And this is where we come back to Donald Trump. As I said earlier, it would be so wonderful to find someone with the courage and the ability to stop China. China marching relentlessly toward total world domination and total oppression of all citizens. but I don't see courage or virtue in Donald Trump. What I see is just one more schoolyard bully in the midst of other bullies. All of them shout insults at one another, make faces, blow raspberries, stick their tongues out... but in the end, it turns out to be more show than go, and we the public are left abandoned and disappointed by all of them. As Greta Thunberg has said so eloquently, This is the point in so many speeches where the speaker holds out hope hope that the tide can be turned and that the world can be saved. And yet, as Greta has said, there can be no hope without action. And the action that is needed will cost far more than most people are willing to pay. Nevertheless, we need to stop fooling ourselves, stop sticking our heads in the sand and stop pretending that destruction will go away. Babylon IS going to be destroyed. Babylon is going to fall. And the best any of us can do is just to get out of her way before it happens. Now, at this stage, there really is nowhere to hide even after we come out of Babylon. For it is the beast himself who will destroy Babylon, and from that point on According to Bible prophecy, things will only get worse. But at least we know what to expect. We need not be caught by surprise. By all means, leave America, but do so with your eyes wide open as to what still awaits us if we are going to stay true to God. Our true Christian hope can only be measured by eternity. In this world, we will have tribulation, like it or not, But we still have a little time left in which to do what we should have been doing the past 2000 years and that is to warn the world and show the world a sample of faith in Jesus like those first disciples had. Thousands of them died for their faith and that is what we are being called on to do even now. Let us not die clinging to our comforts in Babylon But let us die sounding the trumpet of warning to the rest of the world as we step out in faith.
