Thank you. I know one who really cares. So one day at a time, no matter what's from my way. I'm not giving up for it, no matter what others say. With the Lord at my side, I'm never alone. I'm destined to win. So step by step I'll take it one day at a time. One day at a time. One day at a time. One day at a time. One day at a time. I am I found the ugly side of pride in my own self this week. And it's all started one Sunday after church. Well, what do you think? Well, I think you played a pretty good part of Moses. Well, I tried anyway. Well, I took the Marlon Brando approach to acting, you know. So the young Moses was like, like, Stella, Stella, Stella, Stella, Stella. And think nobody got that reference from Streetcar Named Desire? No, I don't think they got it. I don't think they knew about that, you know. Streetcar Named Desire? No, I don't think they got that. They didn't get that, oh. I don't think so. Well, what did you think of it when it was older, Moses? And I went to Egypt, you know, and I was doing my Egypt thing with him and Pharaoh. And I took it kind of to the thing of the, you know, the godfather. And when he goes into Pharaoh and he does his thing and he, you know, Today I come to you, Pharaoh, because you have disrespected my God, Jehovah. And so today, it will begin plagues raining down upon your people and your cities. And if you don't change, and you don't change your heart, then you may wake up with a horse head in your bed. Did you like that? You didn't... I think that was a little on the top. Oh, you thought that was a little... Oh, well. But anyway, well, I got my robe off here. Take this thing. I've got to get this thing off my head. Here, take that for me, will you please? All right, well, I'm going to dip this stuff off. I tell you, this stuff's hot. You know that? This stuff's itchy. Look at this stuff. It's itchy. Anyway. Pretty good-looking beard on you. Yeah, it's not bad. You know what I thought of? maybe next time I'll tell you what maybe I take this in a whole different direction next time get this instead of going to Brando or going to James Dean or any of these great how about we go at comedic okay no no stick with me on this what if Moses goes to Pharaoh and he goes to Pharaoh as Jerry Lewis Get this! Well, let me get this thing off then. Miss Jones? Yeah? What's your problem? Take it off! What do you think I'm trying to do here? You think I'm trying... Take it off. No kidding. Oh It not coming off All you gotta do is pull it Erwin I know that Oh Oh Oh Me Jones! Me Jones! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! You're... You're trying to get it off! It's a touch to my face! I thought if we pulled it a little bit, we could get it to you. Well, it wasn't working! I tried. Yeah, you tried all more. Ow. Did your face hurt? Oh, no. No, it doesn't hurt at all. You're not very good at this. Well, there's the bottle. You were supposed to use spirit gum. I used spirit gum, thank you. Well, if you did, it should come off without no problem. Well, it's coming off, ain't it? Well, let me see the bottle that you used. Got it here. Hold on. There. There it is. Hmm, I think you got a little bit of trouble there. No kidding. No, I mean... Why don't you give me the bottle with the spirit gum? The one you used. That is the one I used. Uh, well, this is not spirit gum. That's spirit gum, that's what you gave me. No, this isn't what I gave you. Oh, yes it is what you gave me. No. Yoo-hoo! This is dried cement. Say what? Give me that thing. What? Oh, I'm in trouble. I told you you was in trouble. Thank you, Miss Jones. Thank you so very much. Go find something! Go figure something! Keep going! Help me! Help me! Now, I know what everybody's thinking. Why are you so upset? Well, besides the obvious of having a beard stuck to my face, I have to preach at a pastor's conference in a couple days. Thank you. Now take a trip in that good old gospel ship. I'll go sail into another land that's been called the Golden Stray. For I call to place my home And I'll never have to roam For I call to place my home And I'll never have to roam Thank you. When I make it inside those gates of pearl, and I see my Savior's face, I'll fall down at His feet. Thank Him for amazing grace. For a call that makes my home, and I'll never have to run. It's a call that makes my home, and I'll never have to run. Yes I gone and placed my home and I never have to roam Thank you. I know. It doesn't look very good. Ms. Jones is working on a plan right now. Maybe we can get it fixed. You don't even want to look at me, do you? Well, I can't blame you as far as that goes. Yeah, I know. Hey, I have some good news and some bad news. Oh, no. Okay, give me the good news first. Oh, well, okay. The good news is they do have dry cement remover. Oh, great! Great! Let's go get it! Let's go get it! Let's go get it right now! Come on, let's go get it! Come on, come on! Donald, don't you want to hear the bad news? Oh, no, you did say that was bad news. I did. Oh. Okay, give me the bad news. The bad news is that it won't get here for three days. Three whole days. I'm gonna look like an absolute fool going in there trying to preach like this. Well, you could go as, you know, an older preacher. Ladies and gentlemen, I've come to talk to you today and stroke your beard while you're talking to a little bitch, you know. They won't notice, they'll just think you're an old pastor. Diva, do you still love me? You do? Well, at least I got one. I can't believe here I am going to do this conference main speaker at this conference and I got to go in with this Lord I don't know what you're trying to teach me with this whether it's humbleness or what but help me to learn it and Lord help me to do this and just without as little embarrassment as I possibly can have. Pastor Jay, we're ready when you are. All right. I'm coming. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for allowing me to be your guest speaker here at this conference. And before we even get started, let me start off by addressing the elephant in the room. I know everyone here amongst you are all starting, I know everybody's starting, I can see it amongst you, you're whispering one to another, what's going on with the beard? this and let me just explain this is not mine this can be explained it all started a couple days ago when we had an event at our church pride that's what this is all about yes it's hard because we as human beings we want to look our best We want to be at our best We always want to have everything looking like we should We don want to look foolish We don want to look bad We want to look good in everything that we do But you know what Interestingly enough, in Proverbs chapter 16 and verse 18, it says, Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. And that's the truth. That's the truth. When we start priding ourselves in our own self, we are bound to fall and be destroyed. Interestingly enough, King Hezekiah was a prideful king. He was a very prideful king. He was so proud of the things that he had done that the pride began to swell in his own self, that he began to think he was better than anything else. And so what God had to do was God had to bring Hezekiah down. Hezekiah, as it's talked about in the Bible, was sick unto death. God told the prophet to go to Hezekiah and tell him. He said, tell him to set his house in order, for he's going to die and not live. That's an interesting thing to say, die and not live. Not only are you going to die, you're not going to live. It's a way of doubly telling you, you are in trouble. And that's the thing. Pride is going to bring destruction upon us if we don't change it. That's why it's very key for us as Christians not to allow pride to be part of our lives. When Hezekiah heard these words, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and he began to cry unto God and saying, God, have mercy upon me. Remember all the good things that I did. Help me. Change me. Forgive me. and before the prophet even got out the door of the castle, God spoke unto him and he said, Turn around, go back to Hezekiah and tell him that I've heard his prayer and I've seen his tears and I will grant him more years. And Hezekiah was granted more years and in those more years, he was granted a son, an heir to his throne, something that he did not have. See, this is what it's all about. Pride goes before destruction. But interestingly enough, what James says in James 4 and verse 10, he says, Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will lift you up. And that's exactly what Hezekiah did. Hezekiah humbled himself before God and began to cry out with bitter tears and God lifted him up. Pride is very, very bad for humans. Now, it's not bad to have pride in one's appearance. We should have pride in our appearance, the way we look. We want to look our best. We want to be at our best. But it's when we have pride in saying, oh, look at what I've done. Look at what I am. Look at how good I am. That's when we begin to fall into a bad situation. And that is something we can't do. We got to get away from those things. Let's remember those things. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Let's take pride and get it out of our lives altogether because it truly will destroy us. Okay? Something to remember and something that I learned this week all about pride. Well, that's all the time we got for this time around here on the video blog. This is Pastor Jay, Jason LeBaron, reminding you that we love you, but most importantly of all, remember God loves you. And we will see you next time right here on the video blog. Have a blessed, blessed week. Bye, everybody. I know one who really cares So one day at a time, no matter what's from my way I'm not giving up for it, no matter what others say With the Lord at my side, I'm never alone I'm destined to win, so step by step I'll take it One day at a time.
