Transcript: Jason Lockard's Blood Bought Christian Album Release Party | Gospel Music

Hey everybody and welcome to this video. We appreciate you watching. Today, August the 14th, is the day. It is the release date of our brand new album. My brand new album, Blood Bought. This album is really special to me. I made albums throughout my career, throughout my life. About 10 years ago, I just quit. I quit making albums. I quit making music. I barely ever wrote music anymore. I just got to a point where I just didn't want to do it anymore. I kind of lost my passion. if you will, for music, and that was a terrible thing. But just a little bit ago, I started to get that passion back for writing music and for producing music again, and some of that came from the web series that we did, the little comedy series called One Day at a Time. And One Day at a Time gave me the creative juices to start flowing, because I love to write comedies and screenplays, and shoot films and all. So, as I did this new comedy series, One Day at a Time, I decided, well, I need a theme song. So, I wrote a theme song, One Day at a Time. and then as I started writing the episodes, I came across an idea that I wanted to do where I needed another song, so I ended up writing Amazing Grace, No Longer a Slave. And then the created juices started flowing a lot, and it was a lot of work and a lot of stuff, and I said, you know what, let's make another album. Hence came forth Bloodbot. Bloodbot is a labor of love for me. This is an album that I've always wanted to do. Bloodbot was one of the first songs that I ever wrote, but I never recorded. and it's kind of got a rock sound to it and it's Christian rock kind of weird also there's a track on the new album that maybe some of you have seen which we did a music video for which was Rebel with a Cause and that's been getting a lot of views on different video sharing sites and stuff and a lot of people have been giving us the thumbs up and different things about that song, so we thank you for that. And getting a lot of good feedback from people, so thank you for your feedback and all about Rebel With A Cause. The whole album is just different. We've done an album that deals with a lot of different genres of music. We got a little bit of rock, we got a little bit of ballad, We got a little bit of kind of techno pop, you know, a little bit. We got a little bit of, you know, kind of traditional gospel, if you will. But it's just a big mix of all kinds of stuff. So definitely go check out our brand new album. Real quick, and then we're going to end this, but this journey back here has been a tough one. Because when I got to a point where I didn't want to do music anymore, it was because I lost my dad. And my father was my biggest supporter. Every time I wrote a new song, I would let him hear it. And he always loved everything I did. And he was, like I said, my biggest supporter. And so when I lost him, it did something inside of me. It kind of killed my desire to do anything for a long time. but I'm back now doing music again, and it's all for God and in memory of my dad. So hopefully I'm making him proud with this new album, Bloodbought. Dad loved my song Bloodbought, and that's kind of strange because it's a rock song, and when I let him hear it for the first time, he sat there and he said, that's a good song right there. And for my dad, my dad's an old-fashioned gospel preacher, so that was a little strange but he loved it so this is in memory of my dad the new album Bloodbot now we're going to have a little release party here for Bloodbot the album and we're going to give some people some free stuff if you buy the album so there you go it's a release party it's going to be kind of cool so we've got some digital copies of some movies and TV shows from Mill Creek Entertainment that we're going to give you some digital copies for. And I have no problem with this. I'm not a person that likes to hunt. I don't think I could stare down a deer or something and shoot it. I don't think I could do that. I just don't think I could. I just don't have that in me. I guess I'm always thinking of Bambi. So I couldn't do that. But I give a lot of respect for these hunters that do that and literally just go out, not just to kill, just for the sake of killing, but go kill and harvest the food for their families, man, that is really awesome. And I give them a lot of credit for that because it's really interesting. And some of them go out duck hunting. Again, couldn't do duck hunting because I think of Daffy. So I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it.
