Hey everybody and welcome once again to movie reviews from a Christian's perspective. Today we're talking about Deadpool 2. And if you've seen Deadpool 1, you kind of know what you're getting into here. You know the story of Wade Wilson, a man that has terminal cancer. He gets injected with stuff and becomes this superhero. but he still has his kind of weird, crazy, smart-aleck way about him. Now, Deadpool 2 kind of takes the story and builds on it. Deadpool 1 was a breakout success because a lot of people liked the Deadpool character, and they wanted it at R-rated, and they got what they wanted. now they go to the next installment and Deadpool in the end of Deadpool 1 got his happily ever after if you will or at least happily until the next film and we're going to do a little spoiler here at the beginning because you kind of have to because that's kind of what the story is about in the very first beginning of the film Wade and Vanessa are looking to start a family But at the beginning of the film, about the first 15 minutes, Wade Wilson sees the death of his girlfriend Vanessa by the hands of guys seeking revenge on Deadpool. Wade just wants to cross over to be with Vanessa, but she says as he's crossing over, your heart's not ready. I was excited about that. I was like, ooh, maybe they're going to take a turn and do something really cool here. Actually, that's not what they did. Cable shows up. Cable is a time traveler from the future. He is here to eliminate Firefist. Firefist is a teenager young guy young kid that actually becomes evil in the future and he here to eliminate him Wade feels well maybe if I can change this boy heart and change his future maybe that will change my heart and make my heart ready so that I can cross over. Actually, we all know as far as the Bible talks that it's not about works. You can't work your way to heaven. You can't work your way to happiness in the hereafter. It's only through Jesus. But that's the basic storyline. There's a lot of interesting things that go on in the film. And we're not going to spoil any of it. If you want to watch the film, we're going to leave that up to you. But we do want to talk about the stuff that's maybe the moral thing that you want to know about more. We first off want to talk about the violence. If you've seen Deadpool 1, you know the violence was pretty intense. Deadpool 2 cranks it up. They go pretty heavy, and they crank up the violence pretty big. They have decapitations, dismemberments, explosions, shredding of people, electrocution of people, people being ripped in half, burned alive, shootings, you know, we even see Deadpool use a chainsaw, and he ain't cutting down a tree. Yeah, so the violence is really intense, really intense. also in the drug type thing it was really kind of interesting Deadpool smokes, drinks, and even inhales cocaine in this film wasn't expecting that as far as the sexual content goes there's a lot of remarks to sexual acts and incest and pornography we even witness a character and I'm not going to say who but a character is now coming out as gay, and she has a gay relationship and all. And even Deadpool himself kind of winks and nods at gay relationship thing for Deadpool, which is really strange. As far as the profanity goes profanity runs amok in this film in this film There was well over I think 80 F in this thing It's unbelievable. The S-word is numerous. Even God's name is cursed more times than I wanted to hear. So that was really bad. The thing that really upset me, though, more than anything, was Julian Dennison. Julian Dennison plays Firefist, the boy that Deadpool's trying to change. Julian Dennison, according to my research, is only 15 years of age. He's going to be 16 in October. So he's only 15. and the language that he used in this film, wow, unbelievable, and that really, really was sad to me, that really, really bothered me a lot, so there's a lot of objectable content there, a lot of stuff that I think Christians have to watch out for, as far as the story goes I think the story it's not a rehashing but it's kind of Deadpool fair what we kind of saw you know in the first film we kind of get the same kind of a thing in the second film it's kind of the same thing not the same story but you know the same Deadpool type of story the action is great the violence is a little over the top the profanity is way over the top but if you're going into Deadpool you know what you're going to get I'm not here to tell you to watch a film I'm not here to tell you not to watch a film all I'm here to tell you is what the film is doing as far as the moral aspect of things and I think there's a lot of stuff that for a Christian I think there's a lot of stuff there that you have to look at and you have to say should I watch this now that's the reason we watch these is so that we can tell you hey this is what's going on and then we can report it to you and then you can decide for yourself there is a lot of fun in the film And I not going to spoil any of it But the end sequences of Deadpool are hilarious And they're not dirty at all. But they're really funny. There's some interesting cameos. I'm not going to spoil those either. But those are really funny. I think Deadpool would be an awesome series. I really do. For everyone, if they would just dial back on the language a little bit, you can do a little bit. Just don't go to the extreme degree that they do. that's where it bothers me is when they go to the extreme degree that they do and finally I think what they did the thing that upset me more than anything is they enhanced and multiplied cursing of God's name in the second one much more than they had in the first one and that bothered me a lot so there's a lot there that I wasn't too keen on But anyway, in the long and short of it, the choice is up to you of what you want to watch. We hope you've enjoyed this video. We are out of time, and we're going to jump off here. We do want to know what you think. What did you think of Deadpool 2? Have you seen the film? Did you like it?
