Welcome once again to a Treasure Hunters Report here on the Classic Cinema Magazine channel. Here we're checking out a really huge array of stuff we picked up over the last several weeks. Not enough to hang our hats on for just one treasure hunter's report. So we've kind of spaced them out as is when you're treasure hunting. Sometimes you pick up one or two DVDs, sometimes a Blu-ray here and there, but you don't have enough to do a whole video on. So we've kind of held them off and now we're going to share with you what we picked up from two stores over the last several weeks, Goodwill and Big Lots. I'm going to start off with the Goodwill haul, and not a huge amount, but some pretty cool stuff anyway. First off, for only $2, Dan Aykroyd, Kim Basinger in My Stepmother is an Alien. We've been adding a lot of the Saturday Night Live movies, you know, the Saturday Night alumni movie films to the DVD collection. And this was one that came across at Goodwill, and I was like, ah, we're going to try it anyway. Not a bad film, actually. It has John Lovitz in it, and I love John Lovitz. He's just, I don't know why. There's just something about John Lovitz I just think he's funny. I love him in The Critic, you know, always have, and just some of the stuff that he does. So he's in this, and that's pretty cool. So, yeah, so Dan Aykroyd, My Stepmother is an Alien. Yeah, very cool add to the Classic Cinema Archive. Also, for only $2, $2, people, this was pretty cool. Boy Meets World, the seventh season. This is actually the final season of Boy Meets World as well. and this is going to drive me crazy because I'm a completist and I've got the first three seasons of Boy Meets World but this is the seventh. So yeah, but I couldn't pass up $2. I mean, how do you pass up $2? Even though that's going to bother me now when I look on the shelf and I see season 1, 2, 3, and 7. It's going to drive me crazy but you can't pass that up for only $2. No, can't pass it up. Very, very good find, though, for only $2. All right. At our Goodwill, they have their 50% off sale, so DVDs are only $1. So we picked up actually two during that sale. This one I've never seen. This is going to sound crazy for a person that loves Steven Spielberg films, but I've never seen this film. Well, I'm going to get to now. This is Artificial Intelligence, AI. And this is a two-disc special edition set. This was only a dollar. Unbelievable. Very, very cool little set. As you can see there, very, very cool. Looking forward to checking that out. I can't say a whole lot about it because I've never seen it. And I know that sounds strange, but the reason is because it's been on TV, but I never took time to DVR it. or seeing it in the stores, it was more expensive than I wanted to pay. Call me cheap, I guess, if you want to do that, but I like to get things for really, really a good price, like almost free if I can. And yeah, so I waited and waited, and now we got AI, artificial intelligence, only a dollar. Yeah, not complaining about that. Alright back in the day I was heading out of my teenage years and getting into adulthood when Disney Channel was doing a lot of their really really awesome shows like Sweet Life of Zack and Cody Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, you know, different shows, That's So Raven, different ones like that. They were doing all these really awesome shows. So I kind of have a kind of a soft spot in my heart for some of those old shows. and this came across for only a dollar, and I was like, I've never seen it, but I was like, for nostalgia's sake, I'm going to pick it up. This is the extended edition of Wizards of Waverly Place, the movie. Now, this I actually haven't seen. I've watched the first couple seasons of Wizards of Waverly Place, back when they were on the first time around. And I enjoyed it. I thought the show was okay. It's not the best of the Disney Channel shows, but it was pretty good. And so when this came across and it was only a dollar, I was like, yeah, we'll add it. We'll add it to the collection and just take a look at it sometime. So Wizards of Waverly Place, the movie, only a dollar. Not bad. Alright, now to some Big Lots stuff. Big Lots, I love Big Lots. Big Lots usually gets a lot of really cool stuff in their DVD section. A lot of bad stuff sometimes too, but what I mean by bad stuff, stuff that I don't see anybody really wanting. But anyway, they do get some good things. and one of the first ones was also a collection of little mini TV films. I call them mini TV films. But anyway, a show that I loved back when I was going out of my teenage years and into my adulthood, and I know it's a kiddie show, kids, teenager show, I guess, but it kind of holds a soft spot in my heart for it a little bit, and that is the Goosebumps TV series. This actually is only three of the thrillers, but hey, what are you going to do? It's not bad. You got Chilogy, The Ghost Next Door, and It Came From Beneath the Sink. These are three of the episodes that they put together. One is 66 minutes, another one is 66, and the third one is 44 minutes. So they're like two and three episodes pieced together to make like a little mini movies. These were only $3 for this entire collection. Only $3? Yeah, not bad. And that is Goosebumps Trilogy. Yeah, for only $3. So that's basically a dollar a film or TV show, if you will. I will say something that I don't particularly care about. These, this collection, I didn't watch them yet, but I don't like the fact of the way they produce these. Every one of these discs, it has no menu. It's just a start up and go. So, what are you going to do? Alright, something else that is at Big Lots is a Hammer Horror Film. In our collection, we have something that is really, really cool. This is the Horror Hall of Fame collection. This is an amazing box set from Mill Creek Entertainment. I have to just talk about this because it is so cool. As you can see here, look at all these amazing DVDs. Unbelievable stuff. You got Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, classic horror, and then you got two collections of Hammer horror films. see that two collections here of hammer horror films these two are filled with amazing hammer horror films okay well so we got a little this is just one of the Hammer Horror collections that we got We got other ones as well I did want to just say that if you are a fan of classic horror films, this is a really great box set from Mill Creek Entertainment. Something that was only $3 at Big Lots and it was something I couldn't help but have. I had to have it because it was just too good to pass up. And that is this, Phantom of the Opera from Hammer Horror Films. Now, I've never seen this one, so that's why I had to have it. I usually wait until things go on clearance. Okay, that's what I do. But when a Hammer Horror film comes up, you've got to jump at it because somebody else will. So, yeah, for $3, yeah, we picked up The Phantom of the Opera because it's too good not to pass up. Not a very, there's nothing really on it on this DVD. Very bare bones type of DVD. But, eh, it's okay. It's basically just a little menu screen with subtitle options. but hey, it's the movie that's what you're really wanting so yeah, for $3, not too bad I'm not complaining alright, now to the clearance stuff that we got from Big Lots really awesome stuff for clearance on Big Lots at Big Lots first off I've never seen these films and that is the Bourne films I've never seen any of them. I know that's really strange, but I haven't seen any of them. These two, The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy, these two first came to Big Lots for $5 apiece. Not a bad deal, as far as that goes, but I like to get stuff cheaper. So then, after a while, they went on clearance down to half price, to $2.50 apiece. I sat there and I studied on it for a while and I said I don't know them enough to really jump and say, hey, I think that's a great deal. So I decided to wait a little longer. And then eventually they went down to $1.25 apiece. So I picked up both of them for only $2.50. The Bourne Identity and the Bourne Supremacy. Like I said, I haven't seen them yet. We'll have to look at it, see how they look. But, yeah, very kind of ho-hum type of discs. Not anything spectacular. But we'll see what they're like. I don't know. I'm not going to say because I can't say. But, eh, it's okay. Well, I'll take it for $1.25. Hey. All right, finally, speaking of $1.25, this one we just picked up. I had her on VHS tape. but I've never had it on DVD. I had it on a VHS tape that I transferred to the desktop DVD. I have a lot of spindles of DVDs that I have transferred my VHS collection to DVD that way, but I've never had it on DVD itself. Well, now I've got it on Blu-ray and DVD, and that is Ice Age. and this was actually only $1.25. This is Blu-ray, DVD, digital. The digital stinks. It's terrible. This is before they became digital HD, you know, with the streaming. This is the stupid digital disc thing that never works. At least none of them that I've seen have worked, so it's kind of useless. But Ice Age, I love Ice Age. I thought Ace of Age was a very, very cool little film. So, yeah, only $1.25 for a Blu-ray DVD? Yeah very very cool And who doesn love Scratch He pretty cute So yeah that was only Loving that for only All right, now finally, Big Lots, as I've said, if you've never been to Big Lots, if you don't have a Big Lots in your area, wow, that's horrible because Big Lots has this thing going on now where if you get three purchases, if you're a rewards card member, when you get three purchases, then you get a special coupon that gives you $5 off of your next purchase of $15. So we go to Big Lots a lot because they got a lot of stuff that we like to pick up, you know, snacks and different things and stuff. So we go there quite a bit. and when we do, we get our $5 coupon and then I can buy a movie for $5 and basically get it for free. This was my free one and this is going to shock you. I still can't believe this. $5 with my coupon equals that this came out to free. The Planet of the Apes Legacy Collection on Blu-ray. Yes, on Blu-ray. See this? Unbelievable. This is, now you're going to be shocked about this, this is all of the Planet of the Apes films, the original Planet of the Apes films on Blu-ray. And this costs $5, and with my $5 coupon, it basically was free. I've been waiting for a long time to get this, to upgrade this to the Blu-ray. I've wanted this for a long time, but most of the time these are expensive. They were like $50 at one point when they first came out. Then they dropped to like $30. I think the last time I saw them was at Walmart, and it was like $20 for this collection. I was like, I'm not paying $20 for it. I'm just not going to do it. so I'm glad I didn't I'm glad I got it at Big Lots and I got it with my $5 coupon and it was free so you can't you can't beat that man you can't beat a 5 movie set for free you can't beat that no matter how hard you try so it does truly pay to be a reward card member at Big Lots and it pays to do some treasure hunting.
