Music Hey everybody, welcome to this Classic Cinema Magazine unboxing video. We just received a huge package from a new company. We review for a lot of amazing companies and we just got a new package from a new company. we're going to be again working for, and we're really excited about this. If you watch these videos, if you are a patron to Classic Cinema Magazine, then you know you kind of have the same feeling we do. We love the classics, whether it's newer classics or classic classics. Classic is a very interesting term in that, you know, to me, a classic is something that is timeless. That's kind of the way I feel about it. And it doesn't have to be a silent film. It doesn't have to be a film in the 50s or the 40s. It doesn't have to be a set time frame. It just is a film that is so good that it's something that you want to revisit continually over and over. and so that to me is what classic cinema is all about just something that is just so good that you want to revisit it revisit it time and time again a lot of classic films that i own if you come to our classic cinema archive we have thousands upon thousands of movies and dvds and Blu-rays and all kinds of stuff. So yeah, but anyway, long story short, we have got a new company we're working with. This is Warner Archive. If you don't know about Warner Archive, I do highly suggest going to wbshop.com slash Warner Archive and check out their catalog of stuff. It is an amazing amount of stuff. Warner Archive basically is a made-on-demand service. A lot of these older films are never going to get a broad release to where you're going to get all the stuff and see them in the stores and all that. They're just not going to happen because there's just not that great of a demand for some of the older films. so Warner has done amazing things with Warner Archive in bringing video on demand like made on demand I should say and what it is is we have the streaming services and that's all well and fine but for collectors like you and me we like the physical copies we like to have them put on the shelf and there they are so Warner Archive is doing that You go to the Warner Archive website, you search for what you want, you find it, you select it, you add it to the cart, you pay for it, they'll make it on demand and they'll send it to you and you have your copy of that movie or that TV series What an amazing thing Prices are very very reasonable when you think about the rareness of these films and these TV series Very cool stuff So anyway, that's the kind of brief synopsis of what this is and what Warner Archive is. Now let's jump into the two releases that were sent to us here at Classic Cinema Magazine. First off is this one. I love this. We already knew what was coming. So it's not a big unboxing because we already knew what was coming. But this is very, very cool. The very first one that we pulled out of the package here is this one. The Practice. I have not seen this. But I have already checked little clips of that online. And it looks spectacularly funny. And I love it because it has Danny Thomas in it. Danny Thomas is one of my favorites. I've always loved Danny Thomas in the show Make Room for Daddy. Always loved that show. Beyond that, the man behind St. Jude's Children's Hospital. What an amazing human being Danny Thomas was. Well, this series is a 70s series. Very short-lived. Only lasted 27 episodes, sadly. But I have not seen this, so this is very, very cool. And that's the cool thing about Warner Archive is they're bringing you stuff that probably you've never seen before. And that is so cool. I love to discover something that I've never seen before. The practice deals with Danny Thomas. He plays a doctor. Okay. And I love this. you got Shelley Fabrez, who played Christina Armstrong in the amazing TV show, one of my favorite TV shows, Coach, played Christina Armstrong, love that. And then right beside her over here, trying not to put our finger on his face, is Mike Evans, who played the original Lionel Jefferson on the Jeffersons. Who didn't love the Jeffersons? Awesome stuff. So anyway, this amazing little TV show was very, very short-lived. I don't know much about it. It looks funny to me, but I think sometimes the reason shows get canceled, not because they're bad, but just because people don't give it time to kind of build its writing. You don't, very, very rarely does a show come out the box hitting on all four cylinders and it's perfect it just doesn't really happen too often and mostly a show has to find its legs the actors have to find have to kind of find their groove together and kind of learn how to work together and I just don't know that um the practice was given that chance to grow uh I wish it would have been I would have loved to seen how this uh series uh progressed but uh I am very excited to check out the practice I have not seen this like we said this is brand new to me, but I no doubt I'm gonna love it because I love 70s TV I Just saw that 70s look I don't know there's just something about it. There is something about it So yeah um this this series is made like this Made on demand so you got a three disc set okay 27 episodes and I love this on the back It says, what does that say there? Make room for Doctor. Very well played, Warner Archive. Very well played. I love that. Make room for Doctor. That's cool. I like that. So that's going to be very, very cool to check out. That's going to be coming very, very soon in the month of August, our birthday month, here on ClassicCinemaMagazine.blogspot.com. All right. Now, the second one and the final release that we've got here is very special to us. Because if you have been watching any of these videos for any length of time, or if you're a patron of the Classic Cinema Magazine website, then you already know that we love to go out and treasure hunt. We call it treasure hunting. It's basically going out and picking up media, very, very cheap and very, very well priced. and we came across something that I never dreamed I would ever have got. I had heard about this series, but I had never seen it. This series is The Man from Atlantis. This is an interesting series. I have not watched this yet. The reason I had not watched this is because this is the series that followed after the TV movie. I never got to see the TV movie either this is just one that completely missed me and of course I was way too young when this came out to even watch it, I think this came out I wasn't even born when this came out when this series came out wow, that's why I didn't see it wasn't even born when this came out so there you go Okay, yeah, so this one completely bypassed me, and I never saw this on reruns. So, yeah, so when I found this at the stores, I was like, the man from Atlantis, and I read the back, and kind of saw it had Patrick Duffy in it, and kind of saw what it was. it's sort of like a, this almost sounds terrible, and I don't mean this disparagingly, but it's a kind of a poor man's version of Aquaman, and I don't mean that disparagingly, I just mean that's kind of what it is, it's the man from Atlantis, and Arthur Curry Aquaman is the man from Atlantis, if you will, the king of Atlantis, and all that, and so this is kind of like that in a way, So anyway, we got this very, very, very cool release during one of our Treasure Hunters reports when we were out and about. Well, Warner Archive very, very nicely sent us this. The TV movie of Man from Atlantis. I am so looking forward to this. This is going to be amazing. Okay, this is the TV movie that led us into basically the TV series. Very cool stuff I can believe this I looking forward to checking this out So anyway long story short these and this are all coming to Classic Cinema Magazine for a full review very, very soon in the month of August. But beyond that, we are going to dedicate a full podcast to the man from Atlantis. This is going to be so awesome. I'm looking forward to taking probably going to take me two or three days probably to get through all this. But when we do, we're going to talk about the man from Atlantis. What we think about it. What we think of the transfer from the amazing transfer from Warner Archive, all this type of stuff on the Classic Cinema Rewind podcast. So it's really, really cool. We want to thank Warner Archive for what they're doing, keeping these old classics alive, even if it is just on demand. We're living in a different age where brick and mortar stores are kind of going bye-byes, you know, but this is amazing to me, this is amazing to see old shows that would basically just be forgotten still being put out there and said, hey, we're still alive, just get us on demand, made on demand, oh, I love this, this is so cool, So, yeah, I'm looking forward to checking these out and checking out more of Warner Archive very, very soon. Thank you, Warner Archive. We appreciate you so very much for sending these our way. We're going to have a lot of fun checking these out.
