Transcript: Christian DVD Library Update: October 2019

Hey Classic Cinema fans, this is Pastor Jay here with you once again and we're bringing you a Treasure Hunters Report. This month has been kind of slow actually for physical media in my area here, But we have picked up a couple things, and we're going to let you know about that. One thing we're really, really excited about, and we're going to jump into that right away, we're talking about a Goodwill and a Big Lots little collection. Okay, so basically this amount here, more or less, from the Big Lots and Goodwill. First off, Big Lots had a, they've been doing something called free item weekend. So you get a free item, whether it be, they do all kinds of different things. So interestingly enough, I went in and I picked up a DVD that I saw and I was like, I don't know. I'm a big superhero guy. I like the superhero films. I like the superhero cartoons. I like all those. This one is a, I'm thinking this is, they call it a movie, but I think it's actually episodes of a TV show put together. I actually haven't seen this, so we'll have to wait and see. But this is the JLA Adventures, I think that's a TV show, if I'm not mistaken. JLA Adventures Trapped in Time. So I think this is like several episodes put together. That's what I'm thinking. anyway but uh anytime you can get some justice league and when it's time travel yeah that's pretty cool so uh this was uh three dollars so you know hey uh i'm i'm loving uh justice league uh you know i got a lot of justice league super friends all that type of stuff uh so this is actually uh justice league trapped in time and in this is two bonus uh super friends justice league type classic cartoons as well. So very, very cool. So I was pretty happy with that. Justice League Trapped in Time. Now, whether it's any good or not, well, we'll find out sometime down the line. All right. Well, anyway. Now, with Big Lots, they've been doing free items. They've had, like, free theater candy. They've had all kinds of different things. Free items. Well, this week, this past week, was pretty amazing because they had a free DVD or Blu-ray. You just go in, up to $5, get a free DVD or Blu-ray. I was like, so in I was like yes got to do that So I went and picked up something very interesting Free 100 free Mission Impossible, the first four movies. Now, full disclosure, I do have this. This is the Mission Impossible collection. This was the first three movies. This is a very, very cool box set, as you can see. the box set has all the bonus features, has all the cool stuff, kind of almost like a digibook almost to a degree, but not exactly, but yeah, Mission Impossible, the trilogy, okay, but as we all know, they've went further with the Mission Impossible movies, well, I didn't have number four, and so I was like, well, I need to get number four, well, when this came up, I was like, well, it's free. Hey, what can I do? So, um, if nothing else, I got number four for free. Uh, but anyway, I, uh, did get all three for free. So that is pretty cool. I like that. So yeah, fan of, uh, fan of those Mission Impossible movies. I like them. So anyway, uh, so yeah, so we got the Mission Impossible movies for three this week. So that was a very, very good little addition to the Classic Cinema archive. Alright, now these ones here are not a whole lot. Yeah, I know, were from the Goodwill 50% off sale. Not a whole lot. Our Goodwill was kind of depleted this time around for some reason for their October 50% off sale. So we didn't get a whole lot, but eh, there is some interesting things so we're gonna jump into it we're gonna kind of see what is now these are just what they are right now I haven't really what you call put them in new cases or cleaned them up or whatever so some of these are gonna get new cases some of them are gonna get cleaned up but whatever but we're just showing them right now first one that we got it was only a dollar and I've never seen it but I was like you know I like those old Nickelodeon movies and stuff from the earlier days. And this one, I remember, I didn't watch it, but I remember it. It was from ads and stuff. And when it came up and it was only a dollar, I was like, I'll take a chance with it. This is Shredder Man Rules. Okay, like I said, I've never seen this. This may be horrendous. But I do remember the ads for it or something, it seems like. So it's an oddity. it's one of those ones that I said there and I said I don't know but for a dollar hey take a chance with it a buck what are you gonna do even if it's bad I mean it's you know it's not like you spent 15 bucks for it right so shredder man rules yeah I like those Nickelodeon ones so yeah nothing wrong with that alright also one that I have yet to see and this has been at all the different stores around our area but they like five bucks and stuff for this, and I was like, I ain't paying no five bucks for this, I like animated films, but I don't want to pay a whole bunch for animated films, I just don't, but this one I've wanted to see just never took the chance to spend five bucks for it well this was only a dollar Rio yeah this looks really interesting I've watched the trailer it looks kind of cute so yeah so Rio for a dollar this is going to get a new case as you can see it's got somebody wrote on it which is stupid but you know there's people for you so this will get a new case But anyway, for Rio for $1, I'm pretty happy with that. That's pretty cool, especially when it was like $5 everywhere else. All right, recently we added Madagascar to our animation collection. We haven't got the other ones yet, eventually, Madagascar 2 and so on and so forth. But this came up and it was for a dollar and complete with a slip case too, which is pretty cool. This is Penguins of Madagascar. As you can see, that's complete with a slip case. Some people are really mad for the slip cases. Some people don't really care. I've kind of got a warm spot in my heart lately for the slip cases. I don't know why. But anyway, yeah, Penguins of Madagascar, very, very cool. So I haven't seen this one yet. So this one has been at different stores, and it's upwards of $5. And like I said, I know we aren't paying $5 for that. I just don't do it. So anyway, but this one was only $1. So pretty cool. All right, then finally, the one that I was really excited about at the 50% off sale, only $1. We saw this on one of the TV channels that we have. I just happened to hit DVR and just record it and watch it. And I kind of liked it. I thought it was kind of cute. So I wanted to get it on DVD, but could never get it for really what you call cheap. And so I wanted to get it cheap. So actually, I was really excited when this was in the cart. one of the guys was putting out all the different things at the Goodwill. And this one, Penguins of Madagascar, and this one that I got in my hand was in the cart. I saw it. I saw those two and I said, hey, you going to put those out? Can I just take them? He said, go for it. So I was like, all right, good. So yeah, only a dollar. This is Paddington the movie I actually thought Paddington the movie was pretty well done actually I remember the old show Paddington Paddington Bear And I thought that was kind of cute and all. And so when Paddington, the movie, was announced, I was like, I don't know about that. I mean, you're bringing Paddington back to live action type of movie. How is that going to work? And actually, it came out pretty good. I thought it was pretty cool. So, yeah, so Paddington for only a dollar. I've yet to see Paddington 2. You got to do that someday. But, yeah, but Paddington for only a buck. Not bad. so yeah we did fairly decent um it's not overboard uh like anything sometimes when you get your um you know your hauls from a month uh sometimes you do tremendous and you get all kinds of stuff and then sometimes it's just slow and this just happened to be kind of a slow month so we didn't get a whole boatload of stuff but not bad i'm not complaining i i the one that i really think is really cool was to get Mission Impossible, the four movies, for free. Yeah, that's pretty cool. So, yeah, not a bad little haul. We do appreciate you watching. And get out and pick up some physical media. The physical media is really becoming very, very cheap now because everybody wants to go streaming.
