Hey Classic Cinema fans, this is Pastor Jay here with you, once again bringing you a Treasure Hunters report. We've been on the hunt once again and checking out some cool releases and we got a pretty cool little stack here. Right here. Not overboard, but not bad. And we're going to look at this. This stack is from two separate stores. This is from Big Lots and Goodwill. First, we're going to check out the Big Lots releases right here. All right. So we've been checking out Big Lots. We're going to go back. There's a lot more at our store. they've got a big huge stack of all kinds of DVDs all around the place. We picked out some, but there's a lot more there. We want to kind of pick through a little bit and kind of check out a little more. But we've got some really cool deals here. First, an animation one. I'm a big fan of Hanna-Barbera old cartoons. and one of my favorites is probably the Flintstones, right? I love the Flintstones. One of my favorite Hanna-Barbera cartoon series. And this one, I remember kind of seeing a little bit, watching a few episodes, and I always thought it was kind of cute, but I never got a chance to actually add it to my collection. I have never found it, but I found this. This is what they call sort of like a sampling. It's 10 episodes of this series. This is The Flintstones Kids. Yeah, so 10 episodes. It's a rocking in bedrock, or rocking in bedrock, if you will. And I always thought this was kind of a unique little show. young Fred, Barney, Wilma, and Betty, young Dino, all kinds of additional characters, and I always thought it was kind of cute, so, yeah, the Flintstones kids, I don't even know if this ever really got an actual release, I'll be honest with you, I'm not really sure about that, but yeah, so we got that disc, and that disc, very cool, five episodes per disc, very good and um yeah i've watched a couple of these very very cool uh i like this the flintstones kids yeah so so uh going on the shelf along with the flintstones uh on our shelf this is the flintstones kids sort of like the best of if you will i guess or so so that was pretty cool i like that one. Alright, also from Big Lots, this is one I can't believe I didn't own, but only $3, very cool, this is Superman Unbound, yeah, very, very cool animated film, I've actually seen this before, but didn't own it, so now we do. I like this, and the cool thing with this release was, if you do go to your big lots and you see this release, you get this, a bonus digital comic that you can redeem. We have since done that. Very, very cool. So you get a digital comic along with the purchase of a movie. So very, very cool like that. So Superman Unbound. I'm going along with Superman. This is something that I had to pick up. Superman, the Richard Donner cut. Now, there is a reason I had to pick this up. And this is something that's a little bit of a sore spot for me in a lot of ways. Maybe some of you don't know what this is, but something you've got to do, you've got to keep a check on some of your DVDs and some of the things, because discs that are made cheaply can experience what they call disc rot. I own this mini... I bought this five seven years ago something It been a long time so i own this but um came up one day and went to watch it and it stuck and i looked at it and i thought huh wonder what happened there so i took it out cleaned the uh blu-ray player cleaned the disc all that and tried it again stuck again right at the same place and i was like what's going on so i went online and checked and and it said look at your dvds and hold a light up to it and see if you see pinholes and when you see pinholes that is disc rot and i was like you have got to be kidding me because there were little disc uh pinhole uh uh holes in my disc and i was like you've gotta be kidding me so so yeah um and uh So I contacted Warner for this issue and said, hey, you know, discrot and never got a response. So that was a little bit of a bummer that, yeah, they didn't even respond to me about the fact of that. But oh, well. So anyway, but I did I did find this for three dollars. So we're going to do it again. and this time hopefully it's a better quality disc that they made it a little bit better quality. At least we're hoping so. But hopefully what we'll do is DVD shrink this bad boy and save it to my external hard drive. That way it won't be done again. It's terrible that you have to do that, but what are you going to do? But we did add Richard Donner's cut of Superman 2 back to the collection. So that's pretty cool. All right, that was $3 too. All right, now this one was very cool for only $1.88. Now, in a previous Treasure Hunters report, those of you that have been watching these, we have added a movie set of Perry Mason movies. and those Perry Mason movies is something that was kind of interesting to me because I've never seen anything Perry Mason related. There's also another show of Raymond Burr's that I have never seen, and this one came up at Big Lots for only $1.88. Ironside, Season 1, Volume 1. this is a two disc set and it is uh seven episodes six full-length episodes and a tv movie that introduced the whole thing uh this was only a dollar 88 i was like you have got to be kidding me uh so yeah on this you get your all your this is all your uh episode guide here but then you get your discs. I love the way they did the discs. I think those discs are really cool. I like the way that it's red background with yellow character and then red character, yellow background. I love that. I think that's very cool. I like that they have it like this on the inside cover. Very cool. like that. I think that is so cool. This was very well put together. And for only $1.88, I was like, you have got to be kidding me. So, yeah, that's why I picked that one up because I was like, that's pretty cool. So, yeah, $1.88. Very good find. So, yeah, we got to do some Raymond Burr watching with all the Perry Mason and now Ironsides. So those are our finds at Big Lots. Now, we have found some cool stuff, some very cool stuff at Goodwill. And we're going to jump right into this. Some of these are really spectacular. And let's start off with something a little silly. this is the special edition of Billy Madison this is of course Adam Sandler Adam Sandler back in the day was killing these releases he was just doing everything crazy and everybody was loving it you know now that I think about it I don think I own one Adam Sandler film Well I take that back I own Eight Crazy Nights We found Eight Crazy Nights So, I guess that is an Adam Sandler film, if you will. But, yeah, none of these type of films. So, yeah. So, this was pretty cool to find Billy Madison for only $2. Very cool. release. Got all kinds of bonus features on it. Digitally remastered on the back there. It says digitally remastered. Very cool. So yeah. Billy Madison. Okay. This one I was a little leery about and I'll tell you why. Because the disc had a little bit of scratch on it. And I was like, I'm not sure if I want to try this or not. But the cool thing about our goodwill is this. With the DVDs, if you take this disc home and it doesn't work, then you can bring it back with your ticket and you can get your money back. So that's pretty cool. So when I thought about it, I thought, well, I'll take it home and try it. And thankfully it worked. This is Sahara. Matthew McConaughey. I have never seen this, and I always wanted to, so I was like, you know what, it's $2, I gotta get it, and just try it out. So, yeah, pretty cool release for only $2. Yeah, Sahara, like that. All right. A couple, the last three are really spectacular that I got to share with you. The first one, we put this on Instagram. So those of you that follow us on Instagram probably already saw this. But it was something we have to share with you guys anyway. this is something that is so cool and I got this for only I think it was $3 and it was unbelievable. Moonlighting season 1 and 2. That is right the first and second season of Moonlighting on DVD. Discs are a little not very spectacular They're just that. And they don't have a booklet telling you what's in this. That's a little bit of a bummer. So we probably will make a little booklet of some sort with the episode titles or whatever. Put that in there. Just so that we have a better idea where the episode is and where to find it. But it is a really cool set. We've watched a few episodes of these because we have never seen this before. When we went to the store and we saw this, I was like, what? You've got to be kidding me. But I had never seen Moonlighting, and I was like, oh, do I take my chance and buy this? Because I'm not sure. I've never seen it, and I don't know. Do I want to spend $3 for something and then find that I don't like it? I don't know. So I eventually decided, okay, let's pick it up and try it. So we picked it up. We took it home. We watched a few episodes, and actually we really enjoyed it. It's actually a pretty cool little series. Now, I don't know. I've heard some horror stories about as it went forward. But the first two seasons, pretty much everybody thinks is pretty good. So, yeah, so we got that for pretty good. Only $3. I like that. All right. Something that I grew up on. I grew up on Carol Burnett, the Carol Burnett show, like probably some of you. My parents were big classic TV fans. My dad was a huge Honeymooners fan. We loved I Love Lucy. We loved the Norman Lear comedies. um the jeffersons uh um all in the family san vernon's son um you know all those old shows from way back in the day um mash um the odd couple um you know well all those okay so i was brought up on that type of stuff and this when this when i saw this i i almost fell out i couldn't believe this You going to be shocked about this because Carol Burnett is a queen of comedy Look at this Carol Plus Two This is unbelievable The original queens of comedy. This is a cool, cool thing. This DVD right here has Carol Burnett's special Carol Plus Two, which stars her, which stars the great Lucille Ball, and the amazing Zero Mastel. Very, very cool. But not only do you get that TV special, that hour-long TV special, you get something else very special on this, and that is the Once Upon a Mattress TV movie from 1972. Very, very cool. So when I saw that, I was like, you have got to be kidding me. So I couldn't pick this one up fast enough. I mean, I had to pick that up. I love Carol Burnett. Carol Burnett, of course, who didn't love Carol Burnett's TV show? It was just the perfect variety show. I just loved it. And, yeah, so Carol Plus Two, very cool show, TV special, I should say, with the amazing Lucille Ball. And the TV movie's pretty cute, too. So the TV movie, of course, has amazing people in it. You got, of course, Carol Burnett, but you got Ken Berry. You got Jane White. You got Bernabette Peters. And you got Jack Guilford. I mean, just amazing people. And all of them are in that movie. So this is a really great release. Love that. All right, we're down to our final one. I know it's been a little bit of a long video, but we had a lot to get to. This one we just picked up just today, along with Billy Madison. So this haul here has been about a week, week and a half or so worth of stuff. But this one we saw today, brand new. Okay, brand new in a packaging, never been opened. And when I saw it, I was like, you have got to be kidding me. I had always wanted to have this. I got a copy of this off of TV, which is pretty cool. and we'll talk about some of those TV edits sometime, we want to do a video about that sometime, we'll talk about that but we had one of those copies, but we never had this and this is perfect John Carpenter's The Thing on Blu-ray gotta be kidding me yes, brand new in the package. Never been opened. Unbelievable. A very, very cool release on Blu-ray. Love that. I have to say, the only thing that I wish this was, I wish this was a little more of a spectacular release in the fact of that it had a lot of bonus features. But this doesn't have a lot of bonus features. That's the only problem with this. Basically, you get a audio commentary with Kurt Russell and John Carpenter, which is cool. You get that audio commentary, but that's it. There's nothing else. But, you know, to have it on Blu-ray, to have it like that, it's something you can't pass up, especially brand new $2. That's pretty cool. So, yeah, It's been a fairly cool little week, week and a half that we've been collecting some stuff. Thank you for joining us on this journey of this Treasure Hunters Report.
