Transcript: Unboxing Flicker Alley's New Christian Cinema Classics Release

Greetings Classic Cinema fans, this is Pastor Jay here with you today. And I'm glad you're here today because we got an unboxing we're going to do. This is a package we just received and we'll talk about this package in just a second. and we'll unbox it together and open it up and see what's inside. A new release from a very special company. But first, I want to tell you a little bit about the company. It is Flickr Alley. Flickr Alley has been doing some really great releases on some really old, forgotten films. And we're going to share a couple of these with you before we unbox the new release. First, this is a very interesting release that they sent us. we've been working with Flickr Alley this year for the first time so this has really been kind of cool and this is Flying Clipper all these that we're going to show you have already been reviewed at classiccinemamagazine.blogspot.com so you can check out the full reviews there just search for the one you want and you'll find it real fast but this is Flying Clipper it's a documentary and it is hosted and narrated by Burl Ives. Very, very cool. I love these releases because they have the front cover thing, but they also have inside cover art, which is really cool. You see the picture of the clipper ship. Very, very cool. This also comes on both the Blu-ray and the 4K on that one. So that is very, very cool. It also comes with this very cool booklet that gives you all kinds of information about the Clipper, the Flying Clipper. Very, very cool. So that was one of the releases we got to review, which was really awesome. Also, we got a silent classic here that was remastered in 4K and looks absolutely stunning. kind of a mysterious kind of horror type film, I guess you would call it. It's really cool. It is called The Last Warning. And like I said, this thing looks amazing remastered in 4K. It is gorgeous. Very, very cool. Again, with Flickr Alley, they do some really cool stuff. You get the booklet that has all kinds of the information about The Last Warning. all kinds of stuff behind the scenes all kinds of information interesting scenes from movie different actors in the movie stuff it's just really cool very cool release and the interesting with this thing with this release is this one just doesn't have a picture on the inside you got this but then on the inside you get the Blu and the DVD Now we going to take these out for a second because what I want to show you is something very interesting On the inside cover there's a different cover art. See that? So you can use this cover art, which I like this, or you can use this cover art. Now some people would probably like this one better, and that's fine. But, you know, it is kind of cool though, as you can see. It's kind of a cool looking little cover art. But anyway, so they have done some amazing things with their releases with that. Also, what we have reviewed is this one, the extraordinary world of Charlie Bowers. A unique man who was a visionary in movie making. and if you've never seen anything of Charlie Bowers treat yourself get this release check it out Charlie Bowers was amazing some of the stuff that he did starting from 1917 and running to 1940 some of the stuff he did unbelievable it's still being used to this day he was the one that originated it it's amazing stuff same thing You get a booklet in there as well with all kinds of interesting features. And then also you get a different cover art that you can use this kind of cover art for your cover. Or you can use this one, which is really cool. So, yeah, I like that. So that's the way this one looks. If I'm going to get it closer. Yeah, so very cool stuff. So, yeah. They have done some amazing things with their releases here as Flickr Alley. I'm really impressed by their stuff. Two more, and then we're going to unbox the new video, new release. This one was the Golden Head. I love this film. And this one was really interesting because this one has Buddy Hackett in it. I love Buddy Hackett. Buddy Hackett was one of my favorites. I loved it. Again, a booklet in there. You get the two-disc set, and you get a scene from the movie in the back on this one. Not a different cover, but interestingly enough, you still get a scene, which is cool. And the cool thing about this release is this is the Smilebox edition. If you don't know what the Smilebox edition is, Smilebox was a type of cinema experience where the scene would go up and go down and would make like a smile almost, and you would have more feature. And what happened was when Smilebox didn't really take off, what happened was they just cut it off. They cut the scenes off. And then they just made the widescreen edition and whatever. And so we lost the Smilebox. Well, Flickr Alley restored that and gave us the Smilebox edition. I think that is the coolest thing in the world. so very very awesome The Golden Head and it a very good film too so definitely check that one out Then the final one we reviewed this year for Flickr Alley was this one and this one was really interesting As you can see, I got my Joker hat on. I also have my Joker shirt on. I didn't do that on purpose. I actually put this on today just to go out, and didn't realize I would be talking about this film. Flickr Alley released this one from 1928 it is called A Man Who Laughs now the interesting thing is this silent film is the film that inspired the creation of the Joker so that's really cool very awesome film this one of course comes with a booklet same way it also comes with the DVD and the Blu-ray edition of this film, which is really awesome. But this one I want to actually take out of the package and show you something, because this is so cool. Now, this is the cover art that we chose to display. I like this one because it's kind of got that cartoon, comic book-y feel. I like that comic book-y. Is that a word? I don't know. But it's got a comic book feel. But beyond that, you can do this one. And this one looks really cool, too. So, I don't know. It just depends on what you like. But this is from the scene from the movie, and it has the purple, almost like Joker. So, kind of cool. But this is just, wow. Great stuff. Flickr Alley does amazing work with their stuff, and they really, really deserve a lot of credit for all the work they put into it. Uh, and so that's why I wanted to go through some of the stuff that they've done, because they have done some amazing work. So, just giving them a little shout out, uh, for some of the stuff they've done. Alright, now we're gonna look at the new release. I honestly don't know what this is. I'll be honest with you, I have no clue what this is. So, we're gonna find out together. Uh, let's take a look at it. We'll open it up and see what's inside from Flickr Alley. Alright. this oh yes oh yes okay oh this is gonna be cool all right i love film noirs those old mystery films look at this trapped all right this oh man i'm i'm diving right into this i'm i can't wait to look at this all right let's look at it see what it looks like see what this uh release looks like because this is okay this has got me intrigued I like it trap the return of the lost noir classic very cool all right we get the blu-ray and we get to the DVD the deluxe DVD edition so very very cool also you get your booklet look at that that is really cool oh wow oh wow there's some really cool stuff on it so So there your booklet Interesting things I like that Alright let see Oh wow storyboard looking thing Look at that Very cool Look at that Wow that is pretty amazing wow I like that alright look at that you get the scandalous scarlet look at that that is pretty cool talking about Barbara Lee Redfield very cool oh man this is some really cool stuff. Look at that. Alright, so we have got... Wow, that is really awesome. Alright. And on the inside cover of the release, we get a scene from the movie. So, there you go. Very cool. Alright. This is some cool stuff. Alright, I am looking very forward to checking Trapped out and see what it looks like. I'm looking only for the best from Flickr Alley and I have never been disappointed yet.
