Transcript: The Doomsday Clock: Understanding Revelation's End Time Prophecy

The The End The existence of the doomsday clock and the seriousness of its warning should not be taken lightly. The clock represents an important secular witness to biblical prophecies about the end of the world. The book of Revelation predicts a string of global catastrophes, which include an asteroid hitting Earth, a third of sea and land life being wiped out, an army of 200 million being unleashed on the world, and a prostitute dominating world trade. She is completely annihilated with fire in one hour. This sounds very much like a nuclear strike against America These events are not so different to the kinds of threats monitored by the Doomsday Clock Committee as they discuss how many minutes to midnight we are at Their conclusion based on nuclear threats, climate change and information warfare is that destruction will naturally occur unless someone takes action to stop it. The problem is that there is not enough political will to halt the path of destruction we are on. Scientists and researchers warn, with increasing frequency and volume, that we have passed various points of no return. The problems are now so bad with regard to the environment, climate change, internet control, and the race towards a cashless society leading to the fulfilment of the Mark of the Beast prophecy, that there is no solution, globally or individually, to these problems. In other words, on a worldly level, we're doomed. Deep down, many of us sense this, and we choose to respond in different ways. Some people bury their heads in the sand. Some people follow system prophets like Madonna, who boast that if the end of the world is nigh, we may as well go out with a bang and just party. Other people get angry, and others become so desperate to hear otherwise, that they listen to the lies of those who try to convince us that we can affect significant change by taking more public transport or not using plastic bags. Of course, changes like these don't even come close to solving the problem. The inhabitants of this planet are in dire need of a wake call and the Doomsday Clock is playing a role in this but people need to be directed to a lot more than threats and counterfeit solutions we need to be directed to spiritual realities that enable us to see beyond midnight on the doomsday clock to a story that doesn't end there this is where an understanding of prophecy and scripture is so helpful we have been prepared ahead of time for Armageddon. But we have also been given a blueprint for how we can overcome what is going to happen, not necessarily physically, but more importantly, spiritually. Yes, we must face death and destruction, but we have been told that life will go on. In the 10th chapter of the Revelation, an angel lifts up his hand to heaven and swears that there shall be time no longer. Although time may cease on one level, we have also been told that this is not the end. A new dawn is prophesied. The Bible reveals that there will be a new heaven and a new earth. Jesus declared that when the time is right, he will return to earth to establish his kingdom, and that anyone who chooses to embrace his words of eternal life is invited to the party. His invitation requires us to change according to what he taught in the four gospels, even in the face of global catastrophe. Before Jesus returns, we have been told to prepare for many apocalyptic scenarios, like the ones the doomsday clock reflects. Perhaps the most significant of these and one which the clock fails to anticipate is a time of global prosperity ushered in by the Antichrist directly before the return of Christ This false peace will be the most devastating scenario of all because the majority of the world's population will be deceived by it. The Antichrist will offer people a counterfeit solution and a false hope and because we so desperately long for such a solution we fall right into the trap. All the evidence suggests that the doomsday clock is fairly accurate at telling the time. The world is at a crisis point like its hands show. Global disaster is looming heavily. However, on a spiritual level, as I said earlier, the clock fails to see past midnight. It is our hope of a new world that gives us the will to change as individuals, regardless of whether or not others change. For the rules in the new world take into account what we are doing right now to look after God's creation and his truth. Time is short, brothers and sisters. Let's make the most of it.
