Transcript: Debunking Cult Accusations: Is A Voice in the Desert a Cult?

Sometimes we do not realize how much value we actually give to what others say. Even a lot of the information we believe to be accurate is simply stuff that we have heard from others and assumed that it was correct. This happens a lot in the religious system. The leaders teach all kinds of lies, mixing them with the truth and presenting them with subtleties, both through their sermons and their example. and sometimes they're not even that subtle. You're watching on TV, it's not for free. We pay money. The gospel is free, but it's expensive. So we need expensive people to take the gospel forward. As a result, people assume they know the truth, when in reality, they're simply believing what was told to them by their pastor without verifying if it coincides with what Jesus taught. But a situation in which this blind faith in what others say can be especially harmful is when people hear accusations about others, and instead of questioning such accusations and verifying how accurate they are, they accept them as the truth and even help spread the information to others. Especially with the reach that we have today through social media, someone's reputation can be almost completely destroyed by slanderers that take advantage of the fact that everyone likes a sensational story, and by appealing to the world hypocrisy in being prepared to crucify an innocent person without first hearing them out and honestly considering the evidence According to our law we cannot condemn people before hearing them and finding out what they have done Well, are you also from Galilee? Study the scriptures and you will learn that no prophet ever comes from Galilee. In his second letter to Timothy, Paul prophesied about the spiritual condition of the last days. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. From such, turn away. This is being manifested more and more today. People are ever more selfish, materialistic, attention seekers, arrogant, treating the teachings of Jesus with scorn, unteachable, complaining about everything, emotionally confused, pardoned, propagating lies about others, Uncontrolled, evil-intentioned, hating the good that others do. Backstabbers. Aggressive presumptuous preferring the values of the system over those of God while at the same time pretending to be in favor of Jesus yet never obeying him Oh, how clearly did Paul predict today's spiritual condition? Such are the people who reject God. They come to hate true Christians while they convince themselves that they are doing God a service through defaming and persecuting them and eventually contributing to the justification for their deaths. This issue of slandering and libeling and defaming people is so fundamental that it is actually one of the Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Jesus recognizes the evil hearts of men. He knows that the world in general rejects the truth because they do not want to change what they are already doing. They do not want to admit that what they are doing is evil and they want to justify themselves at all costs. That is why we are promised several times that those of us who want to follow Christ in opposition to the values of this world will be hated and persecuted by others. Blessed are ye when men shall revile you and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. True Christians will be harshly criticized, slandered and libeled. They will be accused of being evil. Lies will be told about them, falsely accusing them of anything that can defame them. They will be called a cult manipulators con artists demonic satanic pedophiles heretics whatever but they will be blessed and will participate in the communion of all the true prophets of God Woe unto you when all men shall speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets. The slanderers will actually unite in persecuting the true prophets and thereby maintain the respect of others. They will speak against the importance of obeying Jesus in the role of salvation, and many will support them. They will say that any group that teaches forsaking all your material wealth and working for God full-time instead of working for money is a cult, and they will be applauded. They will encourage one another in saying ever more exaggerated things against the true Christians while always feeling confident they have the support of the majority. But on judgment day, Jesus will tell them, Depart from me, I never knew you people who did evil. What group will you belong to? Those who slander, libel, defame and falsely accuse the disciples of Jesus? or those who are slandered, libeled and defamed for the sake of Christ and his message. Enter ye in at the straight gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because straight is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. you
