Hey Classic Cinema fans, thanks for joining us today. We've been doing these videos about talking about bingeable shows for your time in this very strange time in COVID-19 when we were all on lockdown and nobody's able to get out of their house except for essential things and thankfully we're doing pretty good our stuff is considered essential we're part of the media so we got to cover things so we have a radio program so we have to go to the radio station and we're pastors so we do drive in stuff so we can continue to get our money thankfully and we're doing okay but many people are not and And we're hoping that this soon passes so people can get back to work and people can start taking care of their families. You're in our thoughts, all you that are going through this. And we just want to remind you that we just want to bring you a little bit of enjoyment at this time, a little bit of something to think about, a little bit of something to kind of get you through this a little bit. So during these videos every Wednesday, we're going to be sharing with you some content that would help you maybe to just get past this and kind of take your mind off of some of the worries of COVID-19 and all this stuff and just kind of get you to enjoy life a little bit and laugh a little bit. So today's video is brought to you by the good folks at Warner Archive. Warner Archive has been doing some amazing work, bringing back to life some of these classic shows and movies. And I love the classic TV shows, and they just, they excite me so much. So today we're going to talk about some things for the kids, and some things for the adults, and some things for everybody. This is really, really cool stuff. And these are in no particular order. We're just talking about TV shows and stuff. So we're going to start off with a classic actor. I love this guy. He has such a unique way about him, such a unique voice, such a unique presence, and just such a sweet guy. This is a show called The Jimmy Stewart Show. I had never even known this existed until Warner Archive released this. I didn't even know this existed. I knew Jimmy Stewart as an actor in all kinds of movies and all kinds of stuff like that. I never knew this existed. So I had to check this out. This is kind of a unique, kind of cute little show. The Jimmy Stewart Show basically is Jimmy Stewart playing a professor at a college, and while taking care of his grandson, he falls asleep with a cigar in his mouth or in his hand and burns down his son's house. So he tells his son, come and live with us. and thus the whole family is in one place and stuff ensues. And it goes every week with something new that they have to deal with. And it's just a classic sitcom. It really is. Sadly, this series only got one season. I mean, really, I don't think people in the 70s really appreciated how good of a show this really was. And so it didn't get the views that it should have. It was just a good show. It really was. Sadly, it didn't last. I love Jimmy Stewart rides a bike. That is so cool. He rides a bike. I love it. Just that great, great human being, Jimmy Stewart. These are... This whole series is collected on three discs made on demand Very very cool There is I believe This complete series has 24 episodes. It lasted only 24 episodes, sadly. But very, very cool. And this series runs 606 minutes long. So, what, about 10 hours. So very, very cool. I can't recommend this one enough. I love the fact that Jimmy Stewart actually does something very interesting in this as well. he kind of has the if many of you remember the George Burns and Gracie Allen show you remember George Burns would actually come out of character and talk to the audience a lot of times at the beginning and at the end of these shows that's exactly what Jimmy Stewart does he is talking to the audience at the beginning and then he comes out from among the family or wherever he's at and he comes and he says well I want to thank you for joining us this week And it's just so sweet and so cool. I love this show. I cannot tell you how awesome the Jimmy Stewart Show really is. It is definitely worth picking up. Definitely pick up a copy of the Jimmy Stewart Show. You can also get our full review at classiccinemamagazine.blogspot.com. All right, now something for the kiddies and for everybody. Let's be honest. This is good enough for everybody. We're going to talk about some cartoons. We love cartoons here at Classic Cinema Magazine. Warner Archive released this, and this has gotten some rave reviews from reviewers as well as from us at Classic Cinema Magazine. This is the Tex Avery Screwball Classics Collection. and this is volume one volume one so volume two should be on the way I hope very very soon I hope I hope I hope I hope some of you may get that some of you may not but anyway one disc this actually is 138 minutes long so basically a little over two hours it has some amazing cartoons in this one. We get, let's see, just to name a couple of them, Batty Baseball. I love that one. That was really kind of cute. We got the Screwy Truant, which is very funny. The Hick Chick, a very funny episode. Garden Gopher, love that one. And then there's some interesting Droopy ones, as well as Red Hot Riding Hood. A lot of people consider these racist. And while I can see a little bit of what some people are saying with some of the stuff that goes on in some of these cartoons, I can understand what they're saying. I grew up with these classic cartoons, and I'm not a racist person. I'm really not. I don't have a racist bone in my body. I'll be honest with you. I love everybody, no matter what they are. It doesn't bother me. And I grew up on these. I don't even think of racist things. I just love everybody the way they are. No matter what you are, what you believe, whatever, I still love you. But these are really, really cool cartoons. Tex Avery Collection. And then they also did the Droopy, Complete Droopy Collection. This is a really cool set. This is two DVDs, okay, made on demand, and it is 24 Droopy cartoons, and some of the funniest stuff you will ever find in your life is found on the Droopy collection. These two are just amazing, and these are really good for adults, for children, for everybody. I really don't see anything wrong with them. Adults if you do and this is anybody prerogative of course if you find something a little bit off about them and you don want to show them to your kids that fine Then don do it But I honestly I never saw anything wrong with these I can see where people do but like I said kids are not you know prone to understand that way, so they're not going to see a lot of that. I didn't. I do now, but I didn't see it then. So I think it's just something fun to watch, but I enjoy them. So definitely Tex Avery and the Droopy Collection is definitely worth checking out. All right. Another classic TV series that we got the pleasure to check out is this one, The Practice. We did a full review of this one. And I love, we did an unboxing of this and we talked about it. But right there it says, Make Room for Doctor. It's a play on Danny Thomas' show, Make Room for Daddy. This is Danny Thomas playing a grandpa and a doctor, an old, cantankerous old doctor. And it's just a cute little series. Again, an interesting series that really didn't get a chance to really live and breathe. It only lasted about, I would say, about a season and a half. It was about, some might say two seasons, but it was a short second season. So I don't consider that it really got to really live very good, get a good chance at it. But this one has amazing guest stars as well. Danny Thomas got some amazing guest stars to come on here. He got Edie Adams. He got Victor Bruno. He had Vic Talbick. Um, that one you may know from Alice, uh, Mel, uh, Mel Donner, Mel Donner, uh, Lucy, Lucy, when I say Lucy, everybody knows Lucy, right? Uh, Lucille Ball. Um, he even got Marlo Thomas, his, his daughter to come on this show. Uh, very, very cool. And, uh, you know, I'll be honest with you, just some amazing people on this set, uh, on this show. And one that I really loved was Mike Evans, who played the original Lionel Jefferson, is in this series. Very, very cool. Just a funny, funny series. Definitely worth checking out. The practice. You can get our full review at classiccinemamagazine.blogspot.com and read all about it. But it is really a good series. I love that. Alright, we're going to finish up with some superhero stuff. We've talked about it a lot, but we've been actually re-watching these during our lockdown, and that is Shazam. This is just such a good set that I have to re-watch it. we actually got a chance to pick up this which is the new movie Shazam so we got that one added to the collection but this is the original Shazam the original TV series and this is really cool we've been re-watching it again you know a show is good when you can watch it and re-watch it and re-watch it and that's kind of what we've been doing re-watching Shazam it is just so good it is a perfect show for the whole family it's sweet it has morals it has a lesson that you can see at the end it kind of reminds you of that with that thing like what they used to do with He-Man, having the moral at the end. It's just a good show, and I love it. I definitely suggest if you've never seen Shazam to pick up a copy. And if you're looking for the best quality, this is it right here. This, you're not going to get it any better than here with Warner Archives' release. It's 28 episodes. It is 635 minutes. I also forgot to tell you that this one, the practice is 667 minutes. So we want to remind you of that. We want to talk about this here the Justice League Alright now this is a Warner Archive release This is just Warner Brothers releases okay This is the original Season 1 of Justice League. This is Season 2 of Justice League. Or, if you will, Justice League of America. Now, these amazing cartoons led us into the Justice League Unlimited. After two seasons of Justice League of America, something needed to change. They wanted to bring in more characters, more villains, more superheroes to broaden the scope of this thing. and thus came Justice League Unlimited, and Warner Archive decided to give us the complete TV series of Justice League Unlimited on Blu-ray. Unbelievable. It is three discs. Very cool. It is 897 minutes. That includes many bonus features, such as commentaries, and behind-the-scenes stuff, and people talking about some of their favorite episodes and all. So there's a lot of really interesting bonus features. But Justice League Unlimited, oh, I love this. Love this show. It is so, so cool. And another thing about these Justice League shows is this is perfect for mom and dad to sit down with their kids. And mom and dad, you'll enjoy this just as much as the kids do. The animation is amazing. The stories are perfectly told. They're not talked down to the children. They treat children like they're smart enough to understand peril and understand that things go on in life, and I love that about that. Don't talk down to the kids. Help them understand life is life, and I love that about this. So Justice League Unlimited is very, very cool, and I love it. And then our final one we want to tell you about is Teen Titans. Love Teen Titans. Wow. This is the complete series of Teen Titans. See that? It says complete series, and it is totally the complete series. This box set has every single thing in it, season one, season two, season three, season four, season five, and the Teen Titans movie making it a complete series. I love this. 1,541 minutes long. So, if you're looking for something to binge on, this is it. Start at Season 1, Episode 1, and go. Clear to the finale movie, Trouble in Tokyo. just an amazing box set this thing looks spectacular definitely worth checking out so yeah there's some interesting things you can pick up from Warner Archive just some good stuff from Warner Archive there definitely bingeable stuff we want to thank you for joining us today and we want to thank Warner Archive for sending all these great stuff our way so that we could review them definitely check out warnerarchive.com for some amazing stuff alright that is going to be all for this time around we want to remind you to like, share and subscribe to these videos it really does help us out a lot lets people know that you like this video and tell somebody about it we'd appreciate that and be sure to go to classiccinemamagazine.blogspot.com every single day as we put something up every single day until we see you next time this is Pastor Jay reminding you that if you want to see a great film check out our classic and stay safe out there and we will see you next time on Classic Cinema Magazine YouTube channel have a blessed day bye everyone Thank you.
