Music Music Music Music Music Music Music Music Music Music Music Music Music Today I want to talk to you about about our spiritual insurance policy. Spiritual insurance policy. Probably we all remember Prudential's insurance slogan a long time ago. They said, get a piece of the rock, right? And their whole thing was get a sense of financial security for a rainy day. If something goes wrong, you're taken care of, right? And people in this generation, we have all kinds of insurances, right? We got health insurance. We got car insurance. We got home insurance. We got life insurance. We got all these insurances. Just to take care of us in case a problem arises. But I say, what about our spiritual life? We got all the things from our other life, but all the things in our lives. But what about our spiritual life? We need to have a spiritual insurance policy. And I love what it says in Deuteronomy 32 and verse 30. It says this. How should one chase a thousand and two put ten thousand, I like this, to flight, or make ten thousand run away? Often we think we can do things in our own strength, right? We do. all through the Bible you will find people that try to do things in their own strength. I think one of the most key ones that I think of when I think of people that try to do it in their own strength, I think of a man named Samson. Samson started out good. He was anointed by God. He was given this amazing, amazing gift that God would bless him. And a symbol of that blessing would be his long hair. But when he became enamored, enthralled by this woman that was not for him. As much as he loved her, as much as he was enamored with her, as much as he was supposedly in love with her. she had ulterior motives. Delilah had ulterior motives. One night, after many times of trying to find out the secret, if you will, to Samson's strength, he finally gave in and he tore. It's in the hair. Was it really the hair? No. but the hair was the symbol of his love for God and that he would put God first well when he let her know about it and then she brought the guys in and they shaved his head and all that was gone what did God do? he left Samson because he told the secret of his devotion to God now see Samson had this whole thing where he was like you know what I'm strong I can do this and even when you look at it what he said is when it was completely gone all of that was gone what did he say in the Bible it says it clearly he woke and she said the Philistines are coming get up Samson and he woke up and he shook himself woke himself up and he said I'm going to do like I did in other times but what had happened the Lord had left him the Lord I said those words and I got chills oh my to think about that the Lord had left him I think that's probably one of the most horrible statements you could ever make the Lord had left him. Samson thought, well, I'm going to do this. The Lord had left him. He went out to try to beat off the armies of the Philistines, but he found that his strength was gone. He had no strength left, and they took over, took him. They bound him up. And then what happened to Samson? Samson found himself in their pagan temple chained to the post of the temple and what did they do? They made fun of him. They made a sport of him. So what they did to Jesus Jesus hung on a cross and they laughed at him and made a sport of him. That's what they were doing to Samson. Oh look at the big strong sense And the guy that they beat us all along he ain too smart now He ain too strong now He ain got no strength now What happened What happened What happened was that he took his eyes off of Jesus or off of God. He took his eyes off of where his strength came from. He took his eyes off of his insurance policy, if you will. He took his eyes off of God. When we take our eyes off of God, what happens? we lose out. We lose out. Peter took his eyes off of God and what did he do? He sucked into the water. When we take our eyes off of Jesus only bad things happen. See, we think we can do it and this world is full of people. Full of people who think they can do it in their own strength. but when that time comes as was said when the time comes when a loved one passes away or whatever they find themselves hopeless hope does not come in the things of this world hope does not come in the latest gadgets or in collections of things that we own or all the property or whatever we have. That's not where hope comes. What does the beautiful song say? My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame I wholly leave on Jesus' name. On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. But that's what people are doing. people are building on the sinking sand of this world and then they go hopeless and they go I don't know what I'm going to do I'm hopeless I have no hope for tomorrow when you have a spiritual insurance policy I love this he says what can you do can one chase a thousand can two put ten thousand to flight except their rock had sold them. I like that. Now the term sold here means to deliver. I love that. Unless their rock has delivered them and the Lord has shut them up. Protected them. Sealed them. Made them secure. Beautiful words. Beautiful words. Made secure. Because we want to be secure in this world. We want to have that. That's why we have all the insurance policies. Is a sense of security. But as I said, what about our spiritual life? What about our spiritual life? I know there is a world filled with people that are not secure in their spiritual life. So what do we do? We have shared the point of what it says in verse 31. for their rock is not as our rock. I love it. I love it. Their rock is not as our rock. Because our rock is a solid rock. Our rock is a rock that will not crumble. Our rock is a rock that will not shake. Our rock is a rock that cannot be destroyed. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Oh, they tried. They tried to destroy the rock when they hung him on a cross. Oh, they tried to destroy the rock before when they stopped feeding him and stopped giving him water and they made him dehydrated. They tried to destroy the rock when they took those whips and those chains and they beat Jesus half to death. But he did not quit. He did not crumble. He did not stop. They grabbed him and they said, And you carry that cross and you go. As a sense of more punishment and humiliation, Jesus grabbed that cross and he started to walk. And I'm going to tell you, Now many people will say, Yeah, but he failed. He fell and he couldn't carry the cross. Yeah, put one of us through half of what Jesus did and we couldn't even have picked up that cross. We couldn't even have picked it up. We couldn't even lift it up and put it on our shoulders, let alone take it halfway to the hill of God. Jesus was a strong, strong man. Much stronger than any of us will ever dream of being. He's the rock, Christ Jesus. He's our rock. Now the interesting thing is this world here is filled with people that put their trust in politicians, in governments, in money, and in health. But I want to tell you this, and I'm meaning it right here, straight from the heart, and that is simply this. Every single one will fail you. Every single solitary one will fail you. Because politicians and governments are not for the people they get for themselves They become corrupt That what happens There an old statement that says Power corrupts absolute power, corrupts absolutely. And that's what happens. That's what we're seeing with governments that are just being corrupted. We can't put our trust in politicians and governments. We can't put our trust in material possessions like money. People say, well, I got a big bank account. I'm set. If something happens, I'm good. Yeah, what if a crash happens? You know what happens to that dollar bill that we put so much trust in, it becomes no more worthy or no more good than the paper it's printed on. It's useless. It doesn't mean anything. That's why when the Great American Crash happened, that's why people were throwing themselves out of windows and killing themselves because their dollar bill that they had put so much trust in went down to nothing and it was worthless. And then what are we going to do? And that's why people were standing in bread lines and soup lines trying to just survive. Because they had put so much trust in money. And money what? Failed. And we sit and we say, well, I'm healthy. I'm healthy. I don't have any problems. So I'll put my trust in my health. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. I'm thankful. I'm a pretty healthy person. I mean, all in all. Yes, I've got problems, of course. Back's a little messed up. Knees are a little messed up. Shoulders got a little clicking in it. But I've only went to the doctor twice in my life. Twice. Once because I had a boil. And you can't fix a boil. Unless they go, you know. Which she tried that and that didn't work. And so she ended up giving me medication. I sat there and said, why are you cooking off of that? that guy when you could have just given me medication. But anyway, there's another issue. And then the other time was I got bit with a spider or some sort of thing, and I got so deathly sick that I couldn't even move. I got to a point where I couldn't even get up and move, so I had to go to a doctor. But that's the only two times I've ever went to a doctor in my life. I can put my trust in my health, but you know what's going to happen? It's going to eventually fail. but Jesus never fails. Jesus never fails. Oh, hallelujah. I love what it says in 1 Corinthians 10, verse 2. It says this, And all did drink the same spiritual drink, for they drank of the spiritual rock that had followed them, and that rock was Christ. Isn't that beautiful? He is the rock in which we need to stand on. What it all comes down to is this. We need to get a piece of the real rock. We need to get a piece of the real rock. Because we look at the economy sometimes and we hear economists say oh there's a big crash coming and this is going to happen and dollars is going to fail and all this. And then you get the other people and they sit there and say COVID-19 it's terrible, it's going to destroy the whole land and everybody's going to wear masks and everybody's going to stay in their house and everybody's going to do this and this because if you don't, you're going to die. And then you get politicians and they sit there and say if you don't put this person in or if you put this person in it's going to destroy the whole infrastructure of America. And all we're thinking is just fed all these evil stuff. And if we fed into it, if we bought into it you know what's going to happen? we're going to be so depressed that we won't even want to get up out of bed in the morning. That's the point. I don't want to focus on these things. I want to focus on Christ. I want to focus on Him. Because when my eyes are on Him, this world means nothing. This world means nothing. Why? Because this world is not my home. I'm just passing that road. I'm just passing through this place. This is just my, I'm a pilgrim on a journey getting home. I'm just passing through this place where all these other people are building their hopes on this world. I'm just passing through. I'm just on my way home. This ain't my home, I'm just passing through. I'm going to a better place. I'm going to a place where there is no economic failure ahead. I'm going to a place where it's not predicated on politics and elections and all this. I'm going to a place where COVID-19 can't enter. Hallelujah. I'm going to a place where there is no death. I'm going to a place where all of my friends and my family are going to be there waiting for me. I'm going to that place. That's where I'm going. I not staying here I just passing through Hallelujah I getting out of this place When everybody else is going to stay here I leaving I leaving I not staying here Why? Because my eyes are fixed on Christ. My eyes are on Him. Hallelujah. I love it. We've got to have our lives, our hopes built on Him. because when we build our houses our lives on the rock Christ Jesus you know what's going to happen? we cannot fail we cannot fall we cannot falter I want to have that strong foundation like the wise man that built his house upon the rock and when the rains descended and the floods came and the winds blew and it beat upon his house His life, it didn't fall because it was founded on the rock of Christ Jesus. That's what I want. That's what I want for my life. I want to have a spiritual insurance policy that protects me from the things of this world. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I'm sure you want that too today. I'm sure you want that. so as we bow our heads today and as we close our eyes for just a moment is there someone that will be honest to God and I'm not saying you don't love God I'm not saying you don't love Him I'm not saying you've never given your life to Him I'm not saying that but I'm saying today does the things of this world sometimes get you down does the things of this world make you worry sometimes I say get a little bit more of a rock Get a little bit more of that spiritual insurance policy Is anybody want to buy a little more of that insurance policy today? Would you be honest to God and raise up the hand and say God I need a little more, I need a little more today Hallelujah, hands going up all over the place, that's beautiful That's beautiful Father God you saw the hands going up today You saw people today that are saying I need a little more Maybe there's somebody watching this video, listening to the audio today, whatever the case may be, Father God, and they're saying, I need a little more of that spiritual insurance policy. Father God, they're raising up the hand where they're at right there. I ask, Father God, that you will reach down upon them. Father God, reach down upon us and give us more. Give us more of a desire that when this world begins to irritate us and make us fill with fear, that we will realize there is nothing to fear when God is near. Hallelujah. He is right there. He is our strong foundation. Father God, may we buy into more of that spiritual insurance policy. May we have more of you. Because, Father, that's what we need. More of you. More of you. I've had all but what I need is more of you Father God I pray it right now in Jesus name that you will fill us up to overflowing Father that we will be filled to overflowing with the presence of God and that our rock Christ Jesus will become our strong foundation Father God I thank you today I thank you today I thank you for filling us up And Father God, I thank you for being with us today. Father God, as we dismiss this morning service, Father God, I ask that you will not dismiss us. But Father God, I ask that you will go with us. Father God, keep us safe. Bring us back safe into your house tonight, Father God, that we might be able to worship you once again. And then, Father God, as we go through this week, show us some way we can share with someone that is hopeless. about the hope that comes from the rock, Christ Jesus. Father, for all that you are, for all that you do, we give you the praise and the honor and the glory. For it's in Jesus' name we beg these blessings today. And we say a hearty amen and amen. Thank you. Amen. you
