Coming in at number seven is one that is very cult classic, but is not known much by many people, by a lot of people, and that is this one, Firefly. An interesting science fiction TV series that kind of just deals with, it's like the Old West in space. That's kind of what it is. It's about a group of rogues that are just out scavenging around and stuff in a spaceship and trying to stay ahead of marauders and different bad guys and all. And it's just really, really interesting. It's like I said, it's like Old West in space. From Joss Whedon, it is a very, very good TV series. It basically only lasted one season and then got canceled. And it's sad because it really was getting very good, and it just disappeared. After it disappeared, there was an influx of people wanting more, and thus they ended up doing, instead of bringing the series back, they came out with a movie, which is Serenity. And this is a really, really good movie as well. But we're talking about the sci-fi TV series. So this is number seven on the list. This is Firefly. If you've never seen it, definitely check it out. An adventure science fiction about a bunch of scavengers in space. The Old West in space. That's basically what it is. Number seven on our list. The Six Million Dollar Man. This was a very interesting TV show, and I can't say how much I really enjoy this. It's just really cool. The Six Million Dollar Man is about a guy named Steve Austin, not the wrestler, that is in space. And he comes back and he crash lands and he's so messed up that they try to rebuild him. They rebuild him. We can rebuild him. We can make him better. And so they rebuild him and he becomes a Six Million Dollar Man and he uses his bionics to save lives, to help people that are in trouble. And basically, it's a superhero series, basically, without it being capes and flights and all that type of stuff. But it's a superhero series. That's what it is. And Lee Majors is amazing in this. I can't imagine anybody playing Lee Majors' character of Steve Austin, although there are talks about Marky Mark, Mark Wahlberg doing that. I don't know about that. I'm not sure how that would go about. But anyway, $6 million, man, definitely a great series. Something I will say with this set that is really cool, you probably can see it there on the spine but with these sets you get million Man 1 2 3 4 and 5 all five seasons And when you put them all together they make like a mural It is very, very cool. That's why I'm glad I got all five seasons of them that way because it really does look amazing on the shelf. But anyway, $6 million Man is a great series. We can rebuild him. We can make him better. And I'm glad we have him at number six on the top seven. The X-Files. Yes, I could not not have this on the list. Probably one of my favorite sci-fi series of all time is The X-Files. Or one of them, anyway. You'll see why I say that there's more above that one. But this is one of my favorites. I love it. Mulder and Scully just trying to figure out what is all the conspiracy and what's going on behind the scenes with a government that is trying to hide stuff. It's unbelievable. It's just so iconic. The show is Mulder believing that there's aliens out there and Scully believing that he's crazy and trying to rein him in and yet him not believing and just amazing, amazing stuff. It's a great series. Each episode has an amazing story, but in a way they all connect because it's a story going after. The stories are about two characters going after something until they finally achieve it. Really a great series. It was rebooted and tried again, And in my opinion, it did not work. I just didn't buy into the reboot, the remake, the revisit, if you will. It just didn't work for me. I didn't like it. But they did do two movies as well as the many seasons. They also messed up this when they took Mulder and Scully out and kind of changed up the characters. It didn't quite work as good when they took those out and tried to switch it around with other agents. It just didn't work for me. But the originals with Mulder and Scully is amazing. That's why The X-Files gets number four on the list of the top seven sci-fi TV shows. I know I'm going to get hate for this. Some people are going to give me a lot of hate for this. I know. So this is Star Trek, the original series. Some of you are going to go crazy about this, saying, oh, no, Star Trek should be number one. And I struggled with this because it easily could be number one. But I was like, what do I do here? And I had to go with ones that I like a little more. And so it could have easily been number one. But anyway, Star Trek was the original series by the creator Gene Roddenberry, an amazing TV series showing Spock and Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise boldly going where no one has gone before finding different life and new civilizations out there and seeing a new world and new worlds that we've never seen before, and done in such an amazing way that Star Trek was just so iconic. And sadly, it did not last like it should have. It only lasted three seasons, and really, it should have been a show that probably lasted at least ten. It was that good. But I think CBS just didn't get it. I don't think they really got it originally. And I don't know that audiences, all of the audiences got it originally. They got it as years went by, but original audience I don't think got it. And that's why it kind of died a quick death, sadly. but it has lived on with many other iconic shows and movies and all kinds of stuff and still lives to this day. Star Trek, the original series, gets number four on the list of the top seven. Quantum Leap. Probably very easily could be one of my favorites as well. Quantum Leap was a story about Dr. Sam Beckett who steps into a Quantum Leap Accelerator and vanishes. He's awakened to find himself trapped in the past facing mere images that are not his own. You know, very, very interesting show. And I think what makes this one just squeak ahead of some of the other ones is because of the so amazing stories that were told in this series. This series was told about Sam Beckett leaping into the lives of women, of oppressed minorities and all kinds of different things and seeing racism and seeing, you know, hatred and all kinds of stuff. And that's why this show is so iconic and why this one has to be up on the top three, because it is just it's so good. It just deserves to be seen, and it needs to be seen over and over for so many of the amazing stories that are in this. Just amazing stuff. Definitely one of my favorite series of all time. Quantum Leap number three on the top seven. Sliders. probably one of the best science fiction series that I have ever seen. I think this could have been a great series that lasted so long, yet what happened was Fox decided they needed bad guys. And so the first two seasons were amazing, and then the seasons thereafter went down the drain because they had to have a bad guy chasing the sliders. I never could understand that to me because the first two seasons just dealt with the sliders going into worlds that were different. And that what made this series so amazing was just the sliders seeing different worlds that were different and how they adapted to them and how they survived until the timer counted down and they could escape it was amazing it was great the way it was it didn't need to be changed you didn't need a bad guy you didn't need all that type of stuff and for some reason they had to mess it up and thus that's why we never really got what we wanted to out of this series it should have stayed the way it was. It would have been better. It was good the way it was, but they just messed it up. Sliders, the original series, is just so great. And like I said, after the first two seasons, it really took a nosedive. Season three kind of went down. Season four was terrible. And season five was horrendous, terrible. We got the entire series just because we love the series. But if you really want to be honest, this was the best part, season one and season two. But that's why Sliders has to be number two on my list of the top seven sci-fi of all time. The Twilight Zone. Easily, this could have been Outer Limits. That's just an honorable mention. But I mean, there's just so many great TV shows and we had to eliminate some. We had to put some others in that we could have left out. It was just very difficult. When you're trying to do seven, it's very difficult. But I think the reason we did the Twilight Zone is because it's just so iconic. The stories of the Twilight Zone, that twist ending that we know of nowadays, it all started with the Twilight Zone. That's where it began. The Twilight Zone originated that. Rod Serling originated the twist ending. It was amazing, and that's why it is so iconic and why it has to be number one. When you look at some of the most amazing shows from the Twilight Zone, you could be here forever talking about them. You know, just iconic shows that dealt with so many different things. Some were a little more lighthearted. Some were a little more scary. Some were crazy off the wall. Some were just horrendous. I mean, it just made you skin crawl almost. They were just amazing shows that really hit you right in the heart and took you along for the ride. That's why Twilight Zone has to be number one, in my opinion, of the top seven sci-fi TV shows of all time.
