Greetings Classic Cinema and TV fans, this is Pastor Jay here with you today on another Flashback Friday. Today we're talking about a show from the 80's and it is entitled Moonlighting. And we've been getting into more of these detective and crime shows here recently in the last few years. And this one we came across at the local Goodwill establishment. It was amazing because this is the first and second season. And we paid, believe it or not, $3 for this for the entire first and second season of Moonlighting. Now, the interesting thing about this show is the fact that when you try to buy this show now, you can't find it. And if you try Amazon right now, Season 1 and 2 of Moonlighting is the cheapest, I think, right now. It's at the time of this recording. It's going for $55 plus shipping and handling. So, yeah, this is a very, very expensive show because it went out of print and you can't find it anymore. I don know if they will ever put these back out maybe put them out on Blu I kind of have my doubts about that but I don know But anyway basically what this show is it about two people It's about Maddie Hayes and David Addison. Now, Maddie Hayes was a former model who lost everything when her accountant took her fortune. She was basically a millionaire. He took everything, embezzled it and took it all and left her basically poor. And David Addison is a wisecracking private eye, if you will. And together they start the Blue Moon Detective Agency and try to solve crimes, be in for hire. And the interesting thing about this show is that the two of them have a kind of a love-hate relationship. And you can tell there's a lot of love there. They have that tension that they want to fall in love, but yet they just irritate one another. And it's a fun show. It's got a lot of comedy. It got a lot of fun all the way around There a lot of action a lot of everything It just a great great show and I really enjoy it Maddie Hayes is of course played by Sybil Shepard and David Addison is played by the great Bruce Willis And long before he became the action star, he was David Addison. And it's a really, really good show. If you have never seen Moonlighting, I do highly suggest it, that's if you can even find it, because I have not seen it on any streaming platform that I can, I mean, there may be available for purchase, but like the free streaming, I've never seen this, because there's a lot of shows that are being streamed, like on the Roku channel, on Tubi TV, different streaming platforms, this is not one of them, so you will probably have to purchase the streaming rights to get these. And I just don't know that it's something that a lot of people would want to do. I'm hoping that maybe someday they will re-release these because right now, this is all we got, season one and two. And I'd like to get season three and four and five, yet they are so expensive on Amazon that we are not spending that kind of money for it. it's just, it's crazy, it's crazy when these things go out of print that's why you have to buy them when they're basically released because once they go out of print man you ain getting them again unless they decide to re them hopefully they will re and we be able to pick up some of these but we wait and see But we want your opinion on Moonlighting.
