Repentance is healthy for every Christian. Repentance fuels the fire. And listen, with the putting under of the flesh and the repenting also comes resisting. As we resist, we add fuel to the fire. Every time you resist, every time you don't do that again, every time you overcome, every time you don't go there, you're adding fuel to your fire. We put it in the fire and we keep it there. You know, we have to surrender to the completed work. Do you understand what that means? It means we don't just lay something on the altar for a little bit, let a little, and then pull it right back. We have to surrender to the completed work. We have to allow the fire in us. We have to throw it in the fire and allow it to burn where it's completely consumed enough for us to change. Because that really what repentance and surrendering have to do with us changing becoming more like God being more like God Fire is the instrument that will bring change in your life The fire of God by the Holy Spirit will bring change in your life And many times, you know, I say this all the time, we are always looking for the change on the outside. When God is looking for something inside of us to change. Did you know that fire can burn up your doubts? Did you know that fire can burn up your double-mindedness? Do you know that you can get in the fire of the Lord, the presence of the Lord, and all kinds of things like that be fixed? There's something about the fire. The fire is an instrument of change. And you know, this whole life is about us changing to be more and more like Jesus. More and more like Jesus. But we've got to put things on the altar and let it be consumed. I love this D Moody said this He said the main problem with the living sacrifice is that it keeps crawling off the altar So you get with the Lord, Lord, yes, Lord, yes, Lord, I'm going to lay it down. Lord, I get low, Lord, I bow, Lord, I surrender it. And then something. And then you're off, you're off again. You know, surrender, repentance, resisting, it's a daily thing too. This is not like something we do once a year. It's not like something, you know, quarterly you sit down with the Lord. This is like an everyday, everyday, everyday, everyday, daily, everyday, everyday, everyday, daily, perpetually. Until Jesus comes back to get us. And we go up in a cloud of glory. the truth is the more surrendered we are the more passionate and on fire for god we will be when we declare to the lord lord you can have all of us You throwing fuel on the fire And that needs to be and I pretty much been talking about it not just lip service But in actually saying it and surrendering it enough to do it and live up to it. If you're not able to do it and live up to it, really, you're not mixing your faith with the work of the Holy Spirit. Because the Spirit of God is in you. And He will help you. He will cause you to overcome. He will cause you to do it right. He will cause you to be holy. He will cause you to do the right thing. He will do it. Really, fire burns. It burns off of our surrender. .
