Transcript: Christian Comedy Classics: 3 Stooges Flashback Friday

Greetings Classic Cinema and TV fans! This is Jason Lockard, Pastor Jay here with you on another Flashback Friday! Today we are having a little fun. Yeah, a little bit of, you know. Okay, what we're doing is we're talking the Three Stooges, probably one of my favorite comedy teams of all time. Love the Three Stooges, no matter what they were, no matter if it was the original. I even love going clear back to Ted Healy and the Stooges. That was an amazing, amazing comedy team. But, of course, most popular is by probably Moe, Larry, and Curly. Of course, there was Moe, Larry, and Shemp, Moe, Larry, and Joe, and then Curly, Joe, Dorita. Just, wow. Every version of the team had something unique about them, and that's why we love the Three Stooges so very much. Here on our shelf back here We have so many different Three Stooges stuff That we just want to share a little bit of it with you Of course, no Three Stooges collection would be complete without this This is the entire Three Stooges set Every single Three Stooges film ever released The short films right here in this collection Not the greatest packaging comes in a spindle type thing, and that I hate with a passion, but whatever. The point is getting all these on DVD and having every single one of them, and that is so cool. So no Three Stooges collection would be complete without this. You've got to have this, of course. And when you look at the Three Stooges, this is something I had to get here in the collection here, is all these as well. These are all of the different kind of colorized versions of the Three Stooges Now I know there are purists film purists that would sit there and go crazy about that You know, the only reason I love it is because it's just unique to see the Stooges in color, different, in different ways, and that's why I love it. So we didn't get all of them, of course, but we've got some of them. We have, of course, this. This one is Goose on the Loose. All of these have three episodes or short films colorized, so Goose on the Loose. This one is Stooges on the Run. Of course, Stooged and Confused. this one is interestingly enough is a Legend Films release and this is the Three Stooges Swing Parade very very cool love that also another Legends film release is the Three Stooges in color these are the public domain versions and of course this one is awesome from Legend Films and this is I just love this This is the Three Stooges collection. This is all kinds of rarities, all kinds of interesting things, from just TV sketches, all kinds of stuff, greatest routines, and just their appearance on the Ed Wynn show, which is on here, which is very, very cool. Just great stuff. Now, also in this Three Stooges collection that we have here is we have these here. This is the 75th anniversary collection of the Three Stooges. This is just some of the short films that are in the public domain and the cartoons as well. So that's pretty cool. Now, some people will probably get crazy here and sit there and say, Don't ever talk about this again. I had to have this. This is the Three Stooges movie where they kind of tried to reboot the Three Stooges. I know this is terrible. I get it. I understand it. But what it is is this is a love letter to the Stooges. That's what this is. This is a love letter in film to the Stooges. It's just a way to pay tribute. And so I had to have it because of that that it is that Now as you can see I have a lot of Three Stooges stuff here in the collection But what I really wanted to focus on today was something very special. Now, for me, there is probably nothing that I have received to review that I have been more excited about. And this was many, many years ago. It's hard to believe. This is about a four-year-old release. This is unbelievable. Hard to believe that it is probably getting close to five years old as we're recording this. It's just unbelievable. But this was from Mill Creek Entertainment, and it is the big box of nyucks. Such an awesome set. It is so cool. Oh, I love this so much. This was probably one of my favorite things that I had seen from Mill Creek Entertainment. I just love this thing. It opens up like this. This is the box that it comes in. And then you have your DVDs inside. You have six movies of the Three Stooges. Unbelievable. Love this. You get Three Stooges go around the world in a daze. Rocket in the Rockies, the Outlaws is coming. And I did say that right. Time out for Rhythm. Three Stooges meet Hercules and have Rocket will travel. All of these are on this set, and that is so awesome. I love it so much. we get Masters of Mayhem which is unbelievable Masters of Mayhem now this is really cool it has the biopic of the Three Stooges which is a 2000 film now if you have problems with that film of the Three Stooges you're going to have problems with this one as well because it's people playing the Three Stooges parts but it is a very interesting release I love it so much and it's kind of cool to see the story of the Three Stooges played out of their life behind the scenes, the whole nine yards it's really, really interesting we get in this which is so awesome 14 Shemp Howard comedy shorts 10 Joe Besser comedy shorts and 4 Joe Dorita comedy shorts all on this which is very, very cool to see those characters that we know and love playing something else. Very awesome. Then on this collection here, on this DVD, we get, this thing is filled with stuff, just six DVDs in this thing. Unbelievable. You get every single Three Stooges cartoon. Every single one of them is in here. You get a nine-part documentary called Hey Moe, Hey Dad. You get Stooges classics, four short films, and two unaired pilot TV shows. Unbelievable. And you get Three Stooges photo albums and so much more. Unbelievable stuff. All on this collection. Just love it. And then you get a booklet that is filled with all kinds of cool Three Stooges stuff about the history of the Stooges, about Larry, Moe, Curly, Shemp, Joe Besser, Curly Joe Dorita, and you get the chronology of the three Stooges. Awesome. It is just a very, very cool, cool set. I just had to kind of spotlight it again because it is so awesome on a Flashback Friday. As Flashback Fridays, we try to look back at releases that were several years ago. And wow, this one is absolutely amazing. Love the Three Stooges. Love what Mill Creek Entertainment did with this. And we want to thank Mill Creek Entertainment for sending that to us many, many years ago. It was very, very cool. And love it. Over 40 hours of entertainment.
