It costs our culture, and the problem is the Christians keep buckling under the lies of the fools who make it sound so good. They have the money to make the story sound so right. They have the power to propagate and control the school system. They have the ability to so influence our children that we're losing them under the pressures of the fog in the kettle idea. That the minds are being bit step by step, year by year, generation by generation away from your ways. As we fall victim to the lies. The lie. That man is deified and his ways are so good. God help us this morning to get a conviction and a priority that your word is right. No matter how many people laugh at our faces, how many news journalists on TV tell us otherwise, and no matter how many movies laugh at what we say, they are the ones that are wrong. And we're like in the days of Elijah, we need to stop halting around and stand up for what's right. And I pray that you'd grab us this morning. I pray that your spirit would please be released with power as you move amongst us and convince us of what's real. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen. I talked a little bit about education last week. and obviously that's a major battle because when they took and kicked God out of the schools in 1962 and 63 what they kicked him out of the school system that the Bible was dangerous psychologically and so forth and the Supreme Court took hold of the system it's only taken 40 years to prove they're wrong A newspaper article I saw from the Palm Beach Post not too long ago, I think that Peggy brought it in. I can't remember where I got it from, but it said in big print, the Ten Commandments do not need to be in the school system. That's not where they belong. And this author spent the time out of the Post explaining how there's no evidence whatsoever that religion has any value to the public school system and children and so forth. There's no evidence. All it brings is arguments among religious people, and there's nothing good that's ever happened for that to be in our culture. That man is a fool, and I say that with emphasis, because he didn't take the time to check out the facts to say such an idiotic statement. There is so much evidence that I could bore you with it. Because since 1962, according to government statistical analysis, when the year that they took the Bible and the next year in 63, which wasn't a full year later, but when they took prayer out of school, from that point on a statistical graph, they showed that our culture collapsed. And if you know anything about statistical analysis, there's two ways they know something goes on when they take statistics. That's why they do it. If you understand, government's always taking statistics. Churches do. There's reasons for that. When you take and graph something and you find trends like they do, they graph the business, the economy, the stock market, and so forth. When there's a slow but sure gradual trend going down or slow but sure going up, they know there's no significant action. and it's just the movement of course or time that slowly changes things. But when you find a thing going along like this and there's a crash, they know that there's an event that happened that forced that crash. They know in the same token if it comes along in a graph and all of a sudden there's a skyrocket at a point where it bends, there was an event, there was something that actually happened that caused that change. Well, when they graph the morals of our culture in 1962-63, it comes along kind of a smooth pace, and then BAM! It falls. And it falls in the area of marriages and divorces. It falls under the concept of crime. It falls in the course of every negative thing of culture. The graph shows there was a collapse. And that collapse in every instance happened in the year 1962-63. Now, that means an event caused the reaction. Now, this is government statistics, so it's not church Christians that made up these special things to try to bend it so the truth would go to us. Instead, the government statistics show that something in culture happened at that point that affected the morals and the disaster of our culture from that point on. The only thing that they can trace that happened was when they took the Bible and prayer out of the school. from that point on even the SAT scores dropped 30 points collapsed 30 points down from the time of all the records we have our children held an educational value that was higher than most nations in the world their SAT scores even proved that they had learned and had an ability higher than other nations when God was kicked out the collapse of even the SAT scores parallel to the same point when it happened. And they ran 30 points below the norm that had all the history that we've kept records in our education system. 1963, what happened to our president? When did we start the Vietnam War? Right in there. And we were defeated. We kicked God out of our country. out of our society. We lose a president. We lose a war. Can you think maybe there's something being stated there? All kinds of disaster happened. The culture exploded. What happened in the cities? Riots. They burned down the inner cities. Racial battles. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. It was like a literal collapse as we turned our backs on God. We allowed the government to do something that was a statement. Now you think, wait a minute, wait a minute. My parents still love God, or so forth. I still love God. That's true. But just like here we're looking at with Elijah. Ahab, did you notice how that battle started with Ahab and with God's prophet? Notice how that started. Ahab goes to him and says, Aha, what verse was that? Verse 17. Ahab, the king, or like our president, our leaders would say, pointing to the religious guy, is that you who trouble Israel? See, this is what the atheists keep doing. They keep pointing fingers and saying, you religious people are the ones that cause all our problems. That's why we're going to kick you out of our culture. You're the ones that cause all these bad things to happen. We want you out of our culture. And this king is no different than the leaders of our nation right now. They're saying, you religious weirdos are the ones that have caused and held us down as a nation and people. We want you out of our system. We're not going to follow your principles. We're not going to follow your precepts. We're not going to follow your ideas. They're just ignorant things of a culture of people who in the old days who were ignorant were superstitious. And they needed religious icons to believe in to get them through their tough times. But we know better because we have discovered truth with science and education. And we've evolved into a higher form of being. And we know that we have the answers and you don't have them. And that's why we're going to throw your old junk out of here. And we're going to start a new millennia. And here's the goal of the religious people that are the humanists now that aren't truly religious or actually atheists. But they're classed as religion by the government. They desire to create a one world government. A utopia where all the world nations drop their borders and become one unit, a worldwide nation of people who voluntarily will give up their freedoms, who will give up their rights to one government, who will bring about the best for all people. Now let me ask you a simple question What does that sound like Huh Communism Exactly What else does it sound like to you Huh Oh, yes, it does remind me of a lot of the prophecies of the Bible, doesn't it? There's going to be a guy that we don't call a great, wonderful leader. What does God call this kind of guy that would lead the one world government? Antichrist! See, amazing how we use different terms, isn't it? God has warned us for 2,000 years before they ever thought about this stuff that there was going to come a time in history when the world would become one nation led by a guy that God called Antichrist, the beast of destruction who would bring the end of all mankind until Christ came to save the world for what was left of his massacre of people. They want it and we don't want it. On every level, these people are against what we believe in, where we want to go, what we want to do. Everything about them is anti-God and anti-Christ. And I want you to understand, it keeps coming. And it's all tied together with the education, with the politics, with the statements and the drive of the United Nations and desire to bring all these things into oneness. This is all not a surprise to God. He has warned His people that this kind of stuff is happening. We see the structure of things rising to the surface of what God warned us would happen a long, long time ago. The problem is, it's all around us which makes so much sense. They use the words that sound so good. Cooperation. in the Humanist Manifesto. They say things like, we want for the best of not just a few people, but all men. And therefore we demand... Let me read it. I don't want to say words to them. Let me read it so you understand. I don't want to put words in their mouth. But I think it's important to see and hear what they say. So I don't want to put it. Let me read it. Okay, this is number 15 in the Humanist Manifesto. We assert that humanism will affirm life rather than deny it. B, seek to elicit the possibilities of life, not flee from it. And C, endeavor to establish the conditions of a satisfactory life for all, not merely for a few. And then number 14, I should have read that first. The humanists are firmly convinced that an existing acquisition and profit motive society has shown itself to be inadequate and that a radical change in methods, controls, and motives must be instituted. A social and cooperative economic order must be established to the end that the equitable distribution of the means of life be possible. The goal of humanism is a free and universal society in which people voluntarily and intelligently cooperate for the common good. Humanists demand a shared life and a shared world. Now, can you explain to me how volunteer and we demand work together? We demand a shared life and a shared world. You know what that means in simple terms because that's what's going on today? When we say we want a shared for everybody to have fairness, equal, and when they talk about economics, what they're saying is simple. Communism. What they're saying is, we're going to take it away from you so that you have the same as you. Now that sounds so fair, doesn't it? So we have this battle even in our culture. And sometimes when I work with children's ministry, I've got ladies coming and saying, no, you can't do that. You've got to be fair. You can't give a sucker to this kid and not a sucker to them. That's not fair. Every must be equal. They all have to have the same sucker. You don't understand something. If you teach that, you teach humanism. That's not godliness. You show me in the Bible where God says when you get to heaven, everybody's going to have equal. Is that what it says in the Bible? It says in the Bible that when you face Christ at judgment, he's going to give everyone according to their deeds. And some will be rewarded and others will get there by the skin of their teeth according to the word. Some people are going to receive more. some are going to just be happy they made it in the door. And he says he rewards those who diligently seek him, not make it fair so everybody gets equal. See, we have a mentality that's humanism that says, well, we all deserve $9.75 an hour or $25 an hour, whatever we want to make it to be. And everybody should have the same wage. The garbage man should have the same paycheck as the doctor. We all should voluntarily be equal for the best of society. That's what they're pushing. Just because you're the best garbage man they ever had doesn't mean you couldn't be a doctor. So why shouldn't you have this? But you're designed to be a garbage man. So why shouldn't you have as good as the doctor? He was designed to be a doctor. So why should he get more? They don't like free enterprise. But see, I want you to understand something. Free enterprise is Christian. It doesn't sound like it, does it? You think, well, it seems like it should be fair. It is fair. When we established our country, we built a thing called liberty. That you have the right to pursue your happiness. It didn't say you had the right to get handed free happiness. Here's your 10 million. Here's your 10 million. Here's your 10 million. Here's your 10 million. Go have happiness. That's not what it said. It said you have a right to pursue your happiness Some people can pursue it And not want money to be what makes them happy Happiness is understanding the value of things And relationships and family are more important Than anything you can own and have Anybody ever see the movie Truman? Or the Truman Show? One thing about that show I did like some things But one thing about it Was when it got all done it showed the emptiness of a hollow lifestyle with phony neighbors and phony families. And what really had a hunger in the soul of man was true relationships. People who honestly loved you. Because when it came down to it, his wife was an actress who got paid to act like his wife. And his next door neighbor was a neighbor who got paid to be his next door neighbor. He wasn't truly his friend. his father was paid like a soap opera to be his father and it wasn't really anybody who cared for him. He was the only person who lived out a real life in the circle of people who got paid to be there. And he couldn't solve the hole in his heart. And his drive and hunger for something more he was willing to give up the only thing he knew in life to seek some reality. Somebody who really cared. There was one person who, out of all that, who broke the rules and showed him true kindness. A girl that was involved in his school actually liked him. And she dared to try. They tried to have actual friendships with each other. And they dragged her out of the show physically so she couldn't. And she tried to tell him the truth that he was being used by everybody. And then, for the rest of his life, he only could dream of that one true friendship. And the other thing he really wanted in life was that one true, honest relationship. That's not bad. Dr. Dobson kind of liked that idea too. That's what he's been talking about. Focus on the family. There's truth that's more powerful than money and stuff. There's truth and reality that's more important than everything you can buy and trade here in this world. There's something real that's important more than anything else that you can grab a hold of in this system. And God designed it. He wants you to stick to what's real. What is real and what's true? Well, the humanist, they keep telling you what's real, what they say is. they tell you what's the best for you they use supreme court justices to tell you what is really important and we're supposed to submit to that they tell you what laws are really good laws they tell you what the constitution has to say now even though we're not smart enough to read it ourselves and say baloney that's not what it means it means what it says buddy and you are trying to change our lives and through every step of their religious faith of the atheist they undermining your life and what you say you believe in if you say you of God And so it comes to a real powerful struggle that going on The thing that I really am concerned with and the reason I'm talking about these things is because I'm afraid that many of you don't even know there's a struggle going on. You're quietly living your lives and have no clue that there's a war right around you. And that war is a spiritual war. that there are people who are preparing this world and this nation for the coming Antichrist. They're preparing the minds of your children so they'll be willingly accepting the one world government. They'll willingly accept the mark of the beast. They'll willingly walk into this system to their damnation. And there's few who have enough wisdom or insight or prophetic understanding to know that this is all around us, shoving us to the conclusion of history as God warned you would happen. That's what scares me. And in some way, I want to enlighten you to get you shaken out of your liturgy of life, your pleasures and your joy and your self-interest to see that in spite of the fact that it's going slow, there's changes all around you that are dragging things to destruction. And you, as Christians, need to understand them so you can win some. Before the end comes. And you need to understand that that's why God warns as He did in Elijah. And using an example here. The simple statement in verse 21. How long will you falter between two opinions? Well you know what? You're going to falter between two opinions if you do like these people did. Because instead of committing themselves to understanding what God says in this book. They spend their time enjoying life and working. and spending time with their neighbors and their friends and they let the culture keep preaching to them what they wanted to believe and what they thought. And so if I ask your teenagers, is it wrong to lie? What would they tell me? Crystal, what would you tell me? Is it wrong to lie? Jason, is it wrong to lie? You know, is it wrong to lie? Do you lie to your parents? Is it bad? You know, I'm not trying to put you in the spot. I was just using it as a straight. I wasn't really wanting to answer. Well, you can answer it at home, but I'm just saying, think about this. Because where do our kids get the ideas? Because, I mean, that's a hard question that Josh McDowell started asking kids in the churches. He took surveys, and you know, 60-some percent of the Bible church kids said, what's wrong with lying? And they asked him, do you lie? Yeah. So what? Well, that's the problem. The so what? Where did this so what come from? Who gave them the idea that it was okay to lie? It didn't come from me, because I'm telling you it's a sin. Did it come from mom and dad? Usually they say don't lie. Where's it coming from? If it's not coming from mom and dad, it's not coming from the preacher. Where's it coming from? Movies? Music? School? Where's it coming from? See, this is a scary thing, because that's the place they want our kids to be in, because in a few more years, when they start preaching the one world government to the next step and level, who's going to resist? All us old religious people will be dead and out of the way or so old we can't do anything. We'll be in nursing homes. Then they'll start making their move. And therefore, we're losing the minds of our kids right here and we can't lose them. Hear me? I'm after you guys. You've got to understand, God is not a myth. Almighty God is holy and almighty. And as Elijah said, how long will you falter between two opinions? Kids, how long are you going to falter? When God said in His Word that you shall not lie, it's a sin, and I will judge you and take you to hell for it, you need to take note. You need to understand that God is not playing. This law comes out of His own character. God is truthful. and he is honest, and he will never deceive you. Because of who he is, he wants his people to understand to be like him. And so as a person, he expresses truth. Therefore, he lives by a principle of honesty. That's his principle. That's what a principle is. You understand a principle? A principle is a broad-based concept. And then he sets up precepts, or another word we always use is laws or rules. Remember those things? And those laws and rules are specifically little points of the bigger principle to show what he's saying. Let me give you an example. Mom and Dad, do you want your kids to have manners? Don't you? Most of you want your kids to have manners? Now, everybody's household, then, because of the principle of manners, will set up rules in their house. Now, my wife has a rule that since we're all boys, it wouldn't work with girls anyway, Because while boys, except for her, if we were going to eat at the table, we had to wear a shirt. We couldn't go there without a shirt on. Now, girls, you better do that anyway. So I said it didn't matter. But see, because she was ruling with boys, she'd have to set this rule up and say, you don't come to the table without a shirt on. The rule is because she wanted to what? Teach manners. And that was one rule. Well, you can have a thousand rules teaching manners, can't you? The principle of manners is a broad concept. And so therefore, we then have to set up specific rules, training our children in what manners are. And so, you know, when you burp, you close your mouth. Some people, they don't care, so they want their kids to eat and go, and then that's okay because that's supposed to be okay manners. But see, in my house, that doesn't go for that. Manners is that you do not sit there and rip it at the table. You try to conceal it and so forth. Or if it's really bad enough, get up and leave and come back. Those are some manners. And those are just a couple things. We want you to eat with a fork, not your hand. Where's the food? You know, we don't want animals. We want well-mannered children, right? And so each household now will set up different rules. Certain manners to you are more important than others. The South is very powerfully concerned with how you address an adult. They always try to, as I've noticed in the South, they always try to say, yes, ma'am, yes, sir. Up north, we didn't do it in that terms. So we never were that concerned with it. I've learned more manners from being the South to see that that's pretty neat. And I never taught my children that. I tried to teach them respect. But, I mean, in some parents, they say you don't say, hey, Sally, you say Mrs. Smith or whatever. You don't call an adult by their first name. You call them with respect by showing their rank. And those different things are manners, right? See what I'm saying? And each of you will have what you think are more important manners than others. so you'll have rules in your household. God's word has clear-knit principles. God is a God of life. And so therefore God establishes that He is the author of life and therefore He is the only one who has authority and power to take life away. And where that changes is when God says in His word, government, Romans 13, other places of the Old Testament, I've established government to bring death to a criminal. But here's how I want you to do it. And God will take His authority, give it to a government very specifically. But where He does not give it, you can't have it. And God never told our government to kill babies. God never told any nation to abort babies. But you know what? The Roman Empire aborted and killed babies. It's an old, old problem. And whenever a system of people turn away from this Bible, death starts happening again. And as our humanist in 1962-63 threw this book out, it wasn't hard to find out what was going to start coming back to our culture. and many men that were men of honor, Francis Schaeffer for one of them, before anybody ever thought about it, was saying, guess what's going to happen now that we've thrown God out? We're going to start having abortion, and it happened. We're going to start having euthanasia where you start killing and committing suicides. He announced everything that would happen when you throw the Bible out. Because any culture that does not want the Bible goes back to paganism. And all you have to do is look in history and see what the old Greeks and Romans did. You'll find out that's what we'll do here. and that's what we're doing we're getting right back to paganism all the way just saw a thing on TV this week showing how they have this every Labor Day now out in Nevada they have a nice gathering of thousands to get together for burning the person you hate or whatever holiday this guy started it because he hated his ex and so he built an effigy He built a thing to burn his ex-wife. And so many people liked it. They came there by the thousands, and now they go into wild maniac naked dances and piercing their bodies and just going maniac into the darkness of sin for the weekend, and nobody can stop them, and then they go back home to their boring lives, they said. and our culture continues its trek down into paganism and every step of it. And then our teens, they go, well, what's wrong with this thing? What's wrong with that thing? Why is it a big deal about this? Because everybody's sinking into the darkness of paganism again. And if anything you want to know about from the new things that are happening, I'm just checking history. It's not new. It's just being picked up again. That's what happened right here. That's what Elijah was fighting with. The people of Israel kept going back to the paganism of the culture around them, keep following the practices of the Baal worship. They kept doing the things that the Baal guys did until they were in a battle that the culture was lost. And Elijah stepped forward and said, Folks, this is the end of this. Why do you keep going back and forth? Make up your mind. If God is God, obey Him and serve Him. And if He's not, then just stop this joke and just go on and live your life for the Baals and stop playing this game. And that's what we're going to have to come to say with our people in our America. The churches are full of people who do not obey God's Word. They have no intention of obeying God's Word and they want to argue with you about it. Are you one of those? Are you honestly convinced that this is God's Word? Have you worked hard to read it and understand it and obey it? If you have not, what are you doing here? Are you trying to understand it? Or are you committed to yourself of pleasure and you're happy with what you're doing and you have no idea why you come to church? Just to make yourself feel good again? Because that's what a lot of Americans have started to do. The big thing in Time Magazine over the last few years was the return of my generation back to church. And why were they coming back? To obey God? Not on your life. They decided it was time to let their kids have an experience. They decided it was time to bring some kind of tradition back in their lives. Was it to try to obey God? Not really. Now we have churches full of hypocrites who don't care what God says, but boy, are they worried about the psychologist. And whatever he says, it's God's word to them. If the psychologist says, oh, the Bible, don't believe that stuff about spanking your kids. If you listen to them, have fun. Let them grow up and enjoy their own pleasures and seek out and wonder why they're strong-willed. Guess what I did when my kids were little? I whipped their butts. I didn't beat them in the face. I didn't hit them in the head. I didn't hurt them that way. I spanked them on the divine spot of correction, their rear end. And you know what? I didn't do it because I hated them. You know when I spanked them what I did? I didn't throw them in the corner and say, there. Now you better get right. I hugged them and I told them I love them and I wanted to make sure. Do you know why I spanked you? I love you. And if you stick your finger in that plug one more time, you might die. So I can't let you do that. I love you enough so I don't want you to do it. Don't stick your tongue in there. Don't stick your finger in there. You can't do that. You know what I'm saying? When they went out in the street, I spanked them because I wanted them to have a pain that was something controllable instead of getting run over by a car because I loved them and I wanted them protected. And so I said, don't ever go out there again. I ought to know. I almost got killed doing that when I lived at my house when I was four or five years old. I ran out in front of a car. I almost got flattened. And it's a scary thing. And I didn't want my kids to have the same experience because they might not have left out like the car stopped right in my face and made it before it killed me. I love them. And guess what? I learned that spanking thing from this stupid book. This book told me to do that. But the psychologist kept telling me, don't do it. Then we'd go to a grocery store, and I had my three little animals. They were all kind of young. And people would go, why are your children so obedient? But I didn't feel like they were obedient. And people would keep telling us that in the grocery stores. Then I'd look around and see some kid throwing a fit on the floor over here in this aisle. I guess I see what you're saying. And they followed the side. I don't watch the people. Now, honey, we'll have to go to timeout if you don't stop this. Do we have to, you know, what do you really want? Let's get in touch with our feelings here. And while the kid was in touch with his feelings, screaming at the top of his lungs, and doing everything to destroy the shopping thing, we calmly got our groceries. We then went to the restaurant, sat down with our little kids, and they were okay at the table. They didn't destroy the restaurant. And we went home. But guess what? My little rod of correction worked its deed. And my sons were under control. And they were at peace. And when they disobeyed, I spanked them. And they knew it would come. And when they got it, they weren't happy. But I finished by kissing them and saying, I love you. Don't forget, because I'll spank you again. I'm bigger than you. You know? And I want you to learn to stop. You know what I'm saying? And I learned that from this old, old, old mythical book here. And it's amazing how the evidence proved that it works. And the psychologist, even old Dr. Spock, who started that mess in our country with his psychological... I got a newspaper clipping that he stated a couple years ago, and I clipped it out, and he said, I was wrong. He said, I was wrong. You need to spank your kids. But it's too late. You said it was a lot harder to do than to write. Yeah. It says that you should fall apart. Yes, yes. But sometimes we learn the hard way, don't we? When we lose our kids. So what I'm saying to you today, why do you go back and forth listening to the opinions of this world? Take this book and what it says. Do it. Convict your mind Bring yourself to a priority to say I will serve God And if you do You might be laughed at or accused or threatened But God will give you His promise And you will spend eternity in heaven And just like the spanking thing Your kids might be there too Because if you spare the rod you'll spoil your child according to Proverbs and you'll lose him. Don't lose him to hell. Let's pray. Father, I beg you now, I beg you now to bring some kind of a nail of conviction into the hearts of every one of my adults and teenagers and kids that could hear this morning. Whether they're going to decide to serve you or not. I wish I could speak to them until they would be born again and I know that doesn't work. only by your spirit you convict them of their sin. Only by them admitting that they are sinful and disobedient and having followed your ways, they've rebelled against your truth, they've stood against you and broke your laws. And the only way you can find salvation is through that admission and asking forgiveness and receiving Jesus' death in the place of their death for salvation. Your mercy gives salvation because Jesus died to forgive us. But more than that, your grace is given to raise us up to the newness of life that we can have a taste of heaven right now by following your ways. Hearing your truth and doing what you say in spite of a world around us who have gone crazy like the days of Elijah. And do not follow your ways. And I pray like Elijah said, I'm the one voice here. I pray that we can be the few voices here that will stand against a culture and a time that does not care to listen to your word. I pray that you would bring conviction this day to those here that they'll honestly serve you and no other. Stand up and shout, stand up and shout, shout it Stand up and shout it if you love my Jesus Stand up and shout it if you love my Lord
