Transcript: Christian Movie Collection: Sons Of Kong Classics

Greetings, classic cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lockhart here with you once again on another Flashback Friday. and today we're flashing back to an older time of B movies that were just really really cool we have been this is a collection that we recently picked up that we have when I first saw it I was like I gotta have that and I waited and waited and I finally finally picked it up after many many years of waiting on this and but it was just it was just one of those ones that I kept thinking well I'm gonna pick that no no maybe not well I'm gonna pick no maybe not and then I eventually decided to go ahead and pick it up and I'm really excited about it because we just received it today and that is the Son of Kong collection this is from Alpha Home Entertainment a really really cool release. We'll show you the slipcover in just a second because there's something really, really special with that. But this is the Son of Kong release. I really love this. There is ten Kong films or guerrilla films, if you will. And these are all public domain kind of films, but they're really, really cool. You get Boris Karloff in The Ape. You get Bela Lugosi in in the Bela Lugosi and the Brooklyn Gorilla. You get the Gorilla, which is really cool. Bela Lugosi and the 8-Man, Bride of the Gorilla, the Savage Girl, the White Gorilla, Law of the Jungle White Pongo and N you know with Buster Crabb which is really really cool um a pretty awesome looking release uh love this um seeing this uh this is pretty cool uh three dvds um two here like this and then one in a sleeve um not the best packaging that way i would have preferred three, but that's okay. It's still awesome to me. I don't care. These are not made on demand, which is really awesome. These are what are considered press disc. So that is very, very cool. Love that. I've not seen any of these yet, so I can't talk about the quality of them yet because I just got it today in the mail. So I'm not really sure what it's going to be like, what the quality is. We will probably update you later on on that. But this is just a very, very cool release. I love that artwork. I just think that artwork is just so cool. Now, like I said, these are not really what you call Kong films, okay? We think of Kong and we think of King Kong. And these are not really what you call Kong films. But the reason this is so cool is this is Son of Kong. These are like, um, gorilla, ape, um, monster films that deal with gorillas and thus they are like Son of Kong, if you will. So, uh, I get it. I like it. I think it's cool. I think it's, I think it's pretty cool. Uh, I don't know. I think artwork is just absolutely stellar. That artwork is basically worth the price right there alone. But I'll go a step further with what Alpha Home Entertainment has done with this release is the reason I wanted this release more than anything is because of this slipcover Now you see the slipcover and it the same artwork right But that not what makes this release so cool It this You ready This is going to be awesome Take a look at that. Look at that. Isn't that awesome? That is so cool. That is so cool. It's pop-up artwork. It's like a little piece of art. That is so awesome. Isn't that amazing? That is just so cool. I think that is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen in my life. I just love that. To me, this makes this a must-own simply because of this artwork, this pop-up art. I mean, oh my goodness, that is so cool. This is what brought me to this release more than anything. This was this, the pop-up art. I just think this is amazing. This pop-up art is just spectacular. It is really the reason you want this release. Beyond that is you get 10 amazing B-films from early cinema and featuring some great, great classic, classic actors. I mean, you know, Bela Lugosi, you know, Buster Crabb, you're talking Boris Karloff. You're talking some amazing heavyweights in horror and science fiction. Yeah, so this is really some great films from some great stars. and you'll get a lot of good entertainment. Now, not all of them are spectacular, of course. We've watched all these before. I haven't got to see the transfers, of course, but as far as the films go there a lot of really good B films here There are some that maybe not so much but more or less it really a good deal Ten films on DVD, and then this artwork. Wow. Yeah. So, yeah, this is going up to be displayed here in the Classic Cinema Studios. Yeah, have to be, because that's just too good not to display in it. Oh, that is so cool. Look at that. That is just awesome. Look at that. That is just so cool. I know. I know I keep saying it, but that is just amazing. I love it. Anyway, so anyway, that's a little flashback Friday for the good folks at Alpha Home Entertainment.
