📋 Summary
The Titanic was called the unsinkable ship due to its advanced technology and 16 watertight compartments.
However, it sank on its first journey due to overconfidence in its technology.
We should put our confidence and trust in God, not in man-made things.
Pride and overconfidence can lead to destruction, as seen in the Titanic's story.

music hey God bless you, it's such a joy for me to be with you today, thank you so much for coming in just want to declare, God has amazing things in store for you as well I just want to invite you to embark on a new journey as we start from Southampton to New York Yes, not in an ordinary journey, this is going to be on the Titanic. There are a lot of things that you can learn from the incident that happened in 1912 from the Titanic. So this is a new series that we are just starting called Titanica. I encourage you to watch it, stay tuned for the next couple of minutes, and I'm telling you, you will not regret watching it as well. So today I'm going to focus on a very important question. Why was Titanic called the unsinkable ship? Have you ever thought about it? Everybody says Titanic is called the unsinkable ship, but why did they call it or refer to as the unsinkable ship? Well, here's the reason. Because the Titanic was fitted with the state-of-the-art latest technology watertight doors which were automatic. So the minute any flooding occurred, they could just click on it and automatically the doors would get shut. You would have seen this in the movie when the water starts gushing in. The people are working there among the coal and the fire. They immediately rush out before the door closes. That is the automatic doors that were fitting into the Titanic. So this was the latest technology that was available at that time. and that is the reason Titanic was called the unsinkable ship. In fact, it had 16 watertight compartments, and the ability of the ship was, even if four of those compartments were flooded, the ship would still not sink and it would stay afloat But where did it go wrong that way If it was called the unsinkable ship if it had so many watertight compartments then what went wrong The problem was when the ship hit the iceberg, instead of just four of them getting flooded, there were five of those compartments which got ruptured and water started gushing in, making it six and the rest is history. So that's how the ship found it right on the first maiden attempt when it was moving from Southampton to New York. Now, that's the reason Titanic, even though it was called the unsinkable ship, sank on its very first journey, because they put their confidence upon a man-made new technology that just came up. Can I tell you something? See, we are not called to be always negative, pessimistic, thinking things will get worse, and that's not the kind of life that we are called to live. but we are not called to we are called to live a confident life you have to be expecting that God is going to do amazing things that you know God is going to take you from glory to glory but you are not called to be over confident that was the problem there they didn't just put their confidence they put their over confidence on this new technology which is what led to the rest of the things that happened that's what I want you to understand the first and foremost thing you can learn from the incident that happened in 1912. The first and foremost thing is the scripture puts it this way that you and I are called to put our confidence and our trust and our reliance upon God rather than on man. That's what it says in Psalm 118. You've got to put your trust your hope, your reliance on God not on man. The Bible also goes on to say in Psalm 20 verse 7, you know some put their trust on chariots, some put their trust on horses but you and I are called to be put our hope and our trust and our reliance upon God. So today you know many people when they go through life the reason they are not able to go to one level to another going from glory to glory is because they are not putting their hope their reliance their trust upon God they are putting it upon themselves That the problem Today I want to ask you to check yourself. Where is your trust? Where is your reliance? Is it upon your skills? Is it upon your background? Is it upon your education, your qualification, how good you are, your personality is it upon who is supporting you who is on your side and what kind of a political influence you have or which kind of a family background you come from none of that matters today I encourage you, don't put your trust don't put your reliance or your over confidence upon the things of the world put it upon the Lord that's why if you see in the book of Habakkuk chapter 1 and chapter 3 gives a comparison where one group of people put their trust or their confidence upon their own strength. In other words, they make their strength as their God, whereas another group put God as their strength. So today my question is the simple truth. Is God your strength or is your strength your God? That's what happened here when you look at the life of the Titanic. You know, they put their confidence, their trust, their strength, their God was, you know, the strength that the Titanic had. It was the largest floating object ever made by man in all of history. It was having the latest technology and everything was going great. That's why all the arrogance and, you know, the pride that set in. You see, here's the thing. Confidence is good. But overconfidence gives way for you to get into pride. The scripture says that God exalts the humble but resists the proud. You know the scripture is very clear even if you read in Proverbs it says pride comes before destruction. And that a classic example you see here in the life of the Titanic Pride comes before a fall another translation says What does that mean You see Titanic you know they were so proud In fact when somebody went and said she wanted her luggage to get insured, you know, the response they gave to her, they said, listen, Titanic, even God cannot sink the ship. That's the reason, you see, pride was seen and inevitable when you look at the ship see today I want to ask you this simple question when you think about the unsinkable ship according to man's glory this was the best according to man this was the pride of life according to man this had the best technology it had all the best of the best in the world but still no matter what they said God cannot sink the ship but the ship sank on its maiden attempt They said it's unsinkable, but you see the rest is history. So today I want to tell you this important truth. You know, when you look at your own life and you think, you know what, I cannot be moved, I am strong, I have what it takes. And you have a lot of pride in you. I want you to check yourself. Listen, put your trust upon the Lord. Put your confidence upon God. And let God be your strength. And let not your strength be your God. and let no pride come near your tent and say, God, keep me humble. Without you, I am nothing. But with you, I am everything you created me to be. I hope this message helped you, encouraged you, blessed you. And I want you to get aligned so that you can learn from this series and this session so that your life will become everything that God has created you to be. I want you to go ahead and like it, comment on it, share it, And I pray that in case you're not subscribed to our channel, go ahead and do it. I believe God has great things in store for yourself.
