Transcript: Roy Rogers First and Last Films on Blu-ray | Classic Western Movie Review

Good morning to Classic Cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lockhart, Pastor Jay here with you once again, bringing you another silver screen spotlight and we have something so special today. It is amazing. we are talking about I think this is just so amazing this is a great great new release I love it I'm so excited about it this is the first and the last films of the great western star Roy Rogers this is so amazing wow Now, Verdugo Entertainment and MVD have kind of joined forces here and are bringing us an amazing two-film Blu-ray set. And this is so, so cool. We're talking about the very first film that Roy Rogers ever starred in, and that is Under the Western Stars. Love that. And basically, we're not going to go great detail because we're going to have a full written review about this release very, very soon on Classic Cinema Plus. But we do just want to tell you a little bit. There's kind of a drought going on in this western town. And the water company's kind of doing their thing to kind of gut the people. Well, it's up to Roy Rogers to ride to the rescue. I love this. This Under the Western Stars has been newly remastered from a 4K scan This is spectacular And then his final film Macintosh and TJ a very very unique little film I have to be honest with you, I have not seen this one. I am so excited to check this one out that I can't even put it into words, this is going to be a lot of fun. McIntosh and TJ, Roy Rogers here plays a kind of a hard-nosed cowboy in his older years traveling the country in an old beat-up pickup truck. And he kind of comes to the rescue of a young kid that's been kind of like pushed aside. He's like a runaway. And they begin to travel the country together, you know, and just kind of being friends. And that is so, so cool. Love this. I have not seen this one. This, of course, is from the new 4K Restoration as well. This is going to be unbelievable. This set here is a two-disc set. Very awesome. It comes with amazing things. Audio commentaries, interviews, you know, original on-set footage, very awesome. Theatrical trailer of Macintosh and TJ. A new trailer for Under the Western Stars. A documentary, Explore the Alabama Hills. I mean, this thing is jam-packed. Wow there going to be a lot of stuff to get through on this and I am going to enjoy every single solitary second of it As we are recording this video this release here has just came to Classic Cinema Plus Studios So this has just been dropped off. We just opened it up and just took a look at it and man are we excited about this. This is really, really cool. And I have to say something that is really, really awesome along with this, not only did we get the Blu-ray, but we actually got something else Very, very cool in the package. And that is a special two-sided poster. Look at this. Poster for Macintosh and TJ and under the Western Stars. That is so very cool. Love that. So, wow. This is going to be amazing. Yeah, I'm looking so forward to this, it's not even funny. I'm telling you, this is going to be awesome. I'm kind of a fan of those old westerns. You know, I wasn't, when I first started watching movies, I was kind of one that sat there and said, ah, westerns. But kind of as I've gotten a little bit older and I've been watching a little more westerns to review them, I've kind of learned to have a soft spot in my heart for westerns. And this is going to be really, really cool. I've been enjoying the different old films of Roy Rogers. So now getting to see the original, the very first film, and his final film in one set is absolutely spectacular. Wow. I want to thank the great folks at Verdugo Entertainment and MVD for sending this thing my way so that we can enjoy all the Western goodness I just love this This is spectacular Oh as a fan of posters this is pretty cool too But, yeah, you can be sure to keep your eyes open to Classic Cinema Plus, our official website. We're going to have a full written review of this really, really soon, and you're going to want to know all about it. And believe me, it's going to be a great release. And it's going to be coming for release just in time for Christmas. So that if there's a Western fan in your life, this is going to be one you're going to want to add to give to them for Christmas. I guarantee. I've seen little clips of it. And these things look, these two films look absolutely stellar. So, and with all the bonus features, how do you pass this up?
