Greetings, Classic Cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lagerpastor J here with you once again, bringing you another Flashback Friday. And yes, this is great because as we are releasing this, we are just upon Halloween season. Halloween actually, so this is going to be awesome. If you're watching this later, then we're not. But anyway, depending on when you're watching it. But anyway, as we're releasing this, this is just a couple days before Halloween. And we have got something amazing. that just arrived at Classic Cinema Plus Studios. And boy, are we excited for this. This is coming in November from Kino Lorber Studio Classics. This is unbelievable. We're talking about Night Gallery Season 1. Yes, oh my goodness. Now, let's be honest here. One of my favorite TV shows of all time is the sci-fi show The Twilight Zone. This is the entire run of Twilight Zone on DVD. Rod Serling created one of the most amazing science fiction shows of all time with The Twilight Zone. And I loved it. All five seasons were just amazing. and he more or less invented the twist ending that we have come to know from all movies and different shows and stuff now. Rod Serling, he invented that. And then later on what he decided to do was bring another show entitled Night Gallery with twist endings. And now we are finally seeing Night Gallery on Blu the very first season Oh I am hoping and praying please let all of the seasons come to Blu It is so awesome. We've got to get out. We've got to buy this stuff, people. We've got to buy it all up so that King of Lorber knows that, hey, man, we want the whole run. Yes. Yes, probably one of the coolest shows from the 60s going into the 70s, the late 60s, very late 60s into the 70s was Night Gallery. I just love this. The first season was kind of a test run, if you will. It was a very short season because they were testing and seeing how it was. So, actually, we don't get as much as we had hoped for in the first season. But that's okay. It's still pretty cool. We get in this two Blu-ray discs. And now a lot of people would say, two Blu-ray discs, that's terrible. For a whole season, well, you have to take into consideration it was a very short run. We start off with a pilot movie, about an hour and 38 minutes long, of a pilot movie starring some great actors. And we want to just highlight that just real quickly here. The pilot movie is an anthology, if you will. It goes in three different stories that tell about the Night Gallery. And I think the cool thing about the Night Gallery is Rob Sterling, as he would introduce all of the Twilight Zone episodes, here he introduces all of these Night Gallery episodes with a painting that tells the story. It's really, really unique. It's really great. I love it. But in the pilot episode, we get three separate stories. We get the cemetery eyes and the escape route Very very cool And these are tremendous actors in this We get Ozzie Davis we get Roddy McDowell you get the great Joan Crawford you get Tom Bosley you get Richard Kiley I mean Norman Crane you get all kinds of amazing actors and actresses in this thing But the really interesting thing is who directs The Eyes. That little short is directed by Steven Spielberg. But the interesting thing is that Steven Spielberg would actually direct another one of the stories during the first season. The story Make Me Laugh in Episode 4. Very, very cool. So we get the pilot movie and then we get six actual episodes in this season. Very, very awesome. So there's the pilot movie and six episodes on two Blu-ray discs, which now some people would sit there and say that's still kind of a lot. It's actually not. We actually have, we couldn't help it. We have watched the first pilot movie. We just couldn't help it. We couldn't help but pop this bad boy in and at least watch the pilot movie. So we have done that. And let me tell you, it looks amazing. It is crystal clear. It is perfect. I mean, it is so crisp. Oh, there's no DVD artifacting and artifacts and all that. There's none of that. I mean, it's as crisp as a new $100 bill. I mean, it is amazing. It is so good. Love this series. Oh, I can't wait. Can't wait to dive into all the rest of the episodes. It is just amazing. But Kino Lover Studio Classics have released this, and like we said, we get two Blu-ray discs, but also you get your insert that gives you the background, I mean all of the episodes right here from the pilot movie all the way through and gives you all the actors in there a brief synopsis of each of the stories and all the actors and who directed each of the stories Very awesome. Love that. Comes with the beautiful slipcover. We love slipcovers. Same artwork, but yeah, very, very cool. And then there is all kinds of audio commentaries in this. I mean, unbelievable stuff. Audio commentaries with amazing people. We don't have time to go through all of it. We'll give you all the details on our full written review coming up on Classic Cinema Plus. But then there's a special featurette by film historian Craig Bean. The Syndication Conundrum. A look at the show's troubled second life in reruns. Very, very cool. Looking forward to checking that one out as well. I love featurettes by these amazing film historians and all, so that is going to be awesome as well. So yeah, on a Flashback Friday, we just wanted to highlight the brand new release coming soon to Amazon and all places you buy your movies and TV shows from Keenalora Studio Classics. I want to thank Keenalora Studio Classics for sending this my way so that I can share it with you. We'll have a full written review on Classic Cinema Plus very, very soon. And, yeah, so definitely, if you're a fan of Rod Serling as much as I am, you're going to want this on Blu-ray because it looks amazing. It really does. Be sure to keep your eyes open to Classic Cinema Plus as we will have a full written review of that and so much more. On this Flashback Friday, we want to remind you that if you want to see a great film, check out a classic. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And until we see you next time, remember, flashback on a Friday with a classic. We'll see you next time. Bye.
