Transcript: Christian Movie Reviews: November 2021 Mill Creek Entertainment Releases

Greetings, classic cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lager, Pastor Jay, here with you once again on a silver screen spotlight. And this is a special holiday edition. First look at some brand new releases coming in November. Yes, yeah, it's November. Christmas is right around the corner. And so it's that time to start thinking about holiday gifts and all that type of good stuff. And the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment have released a bunch of really cool stuff here. We got them right here. And we're going to take a quick look at them. Full reviews for all of these are coming on Classic Cinema Plus. Be sure to keep your eyes open there. First off, we start off with a newer film featuring Armand Asante. And this one has been one that I've been wanting to see. And wow, I am so glad that Mill Creek has decided to release this. This is inspired by a true story. It is called The Match. This is going to be absolutely amazing. It takes place in spring of 1944 when a football match between the elite Nazi team and a group of prisoners is organized to kind of make Adolf Hitler's birthday something special. I love what it says here, the tagline. They were forced to play, they refused to lose. Oh I love it That is going to be awesome I can wait to check this one out The Match on DVD from Mill Creek Entertainment Love that Also, coming for the month of November, we all loved Hanna-Barbera, even if we were not born in the Hanna-Barbera era. I was not born during the Hanna-Barbera era, but I still love Hanna-Barbera films or cartoons. And this one was an interesting film that was based on one of those Hanna-Barbera films. This is Josie and the Pussycats. Who didn't love little Josie and the Pussycats? Yeah, the classic cartoon. This is hard to believe. 20th Anniversary Edition. You have got, has it been 20 years since this film was released? Wow. That is unbelievable. Anyway, Rachel Lee Cook, Tara Reid, and Rosario Dawson star in this film, the Josie and the Pussycats Blu-ray film. Oh my goodness gracious. This thing is loaded with awesome bonus features. You might not be able to see it there, but it is all kinds of awesome special features there. feature commentary, backstage pass, behind the scenes featurette, deleted scenes, Josie and the Puss Cats, three small words music video, additional music videos, all kinds of good stuff on this edition here. So, so cool. All right. And then finally for the month of November, Mill Creek Entertainment is getting us in the holiday season with look at this five new Christmas releases We not going to go through all these because we just don have time for all that but we will just show them to you real quick. Christmas on the Coast. We'll have full written reviews of all of these. I just wanted to just kind of show you a quick look at them. These are really cool looking releases, though. I love the way they all kind of match up. This is really cool. Christmas in the Rockies. And I love the fact that all of these have like the little bow at the top as part of their release. That is pretty cool. Love that. This actually, for wrestling fans, is really interesting because Trish Stratus is in this. That's pretty cool. If you're a wrestling fan, you know who Trish Stratus is. If you don't, then you don't. That was really weird. Anyway, Christmas in the Smokies. I like it. This is pretty cool. Yeah, so that's pretty cool. Then there is Christmas in the Pines. Okay, that looks pretty awesome. And then finally, we get Christmas in the Wild. I love it. So these are interesting. These are all released by INSP Films. They're produced by INSP Films. Some of you may know INSP. Maybe you don't. But anyway, that's pretty cool. So, yeah, all of these are coming for full reviews. Wow. Now, I want to thank Mill Creek Entertainment for the... I'm really going to enjoy watching these as we start to delve into Christmas movies here at Classic Cinema Plus. This is going to be awesome. So what are you most excited about Are you excited about some of the Christmas movies getting started in that Maybe you excited about this I really excited about this one the match I can't wait to check this one out. Wow, this is going to be awesome. And I'll tell you, I really am excited about seeing Josie and the Pussycats after so many years. I'll tell you, it has been so long since I've actually, full disclosure, I almost forgot this film was even made until I saw that Mill Creek was releasing it on Blu-ray. And I was like, what?
