The Oh, dear. So, have we had a physical therapy? Get the padded. What are you guys doing? Will you... Shh. What are you guys doing? What does it look like we're doing? But you can't take the canoe. The counselors. The counselor said we could do anything except use the canoe. Look, I know that, but you know I can handle this thing. And besides, we're only going to be gone a couple of minutes. All right? All right, but I'm coming too. Oh, no, you're not. And too. No, you're not. Now, we're only going to be gone a couple of minutes. Adam William Freeman, if you don't let me get in this canoe in a couple seconds, the whole camp is going to know. Get the picture? Yeah, I get it. But you be quiet. The End he's doing. Otherwise, I'd be a little nervous. He's handled canoes for a long time, you know. And if anybody knows how to handle a canoe, he does. Or at least that's what he says. The End Thank you. Adam guesses we're about four miles from camp. We're all okay, but the canoe is somewhere way down the river. No telling how far. Josh thinks we should hike back to camp, but Adam feels we should find the canoe and paddle to the nearby town. Look, just shut up, will you? Adam! If you know what you're doing, we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. Me? You're supposed to be the great expert. You're saying we only be gone in a couple minutes. It's all right. Nobody will care. Remember that? You can't creep. If I want any... Hey, man, who you calling a creep? I'm calling. Hey, man, I'll show you a creep. Guys! I should have never let you come in the first place. Let me. You practically begged me. Guys! Did not! Time out! Hey, look, man. I'm sorry. I was just trying to help. Yeah? Well, I don't need your help. Got it? Dear Diary, Adam is still real grumpy. I'm not sure just why, but Joshua? Joshua says we made a mistake in coming and everything and is real sorry about it. But he keeps telling me it's all going to work out okay. You okay? Yeah, I think so. There's something different about him. I don't know what it is, but I'm not nearly so scared now, and I like that. What makes you so different? It's Jesus. What? The good stuff you see is Jesus in me. There still a lot of garbage left but the good stuff you see in me is Jesus Well me and Adam we go to church almost every week No, that isn't the same. You see, first, you gotta believe that Jesus took your punishment and that he'll forgive you. Then, you gotta ask him to come in to be your savior. What do you mean, take my punishment? I've never done nothing wrong. Well, not too often. It's just like when we took the canoe from camp. We knew we weren't supposed to, but we did it anyway, right? Yeah. Okay, now the Bible tells us that that's exactly what each one of us has done with God. We've got up and gone our own way instead of his. Eh, sin may be fun for a while, but pretty soon... You wind up just like us. Lost. Right. You know, it's the sin that separates us from God. That's why Jesus came down from heaven. To take us back to God. But before God could forgive us, someone had to take the punishment in our place. You mean, like if I did something wrong, and Adam asked Daddy to spank him instead of me? Yeah, right. That's pretty neat. Yeah, I know. And there's more. You see, after Jesus died, he came back to life. And now, he wants to live inside each one of us. Live inside of us? What do you mean? How? First you gotta ask him, Maria. Let him run your whole life And then be willing to obey him Do what he tells you You know, in the Bible You gotta let go and trust him With your whole life I don't know, Adam What are you talking about? For up there we'll be able to see where the camp is It looks awfully steep Well, I'm going up. Adam, those rocks are pretty loose. I wouldn't if I were you. Yeah, I know it. You're more interested in standing around here preaching. Well, you go right ahead. But I'm getting us out of here. Adam, please. Adam. Adam, watch out! There it is! I can see it! It's less than a quarter mile! Yeah, just a little ways! Adam, come on down! Nice view up here! Adam please Don't take any more chances! Just give me a minute, will ya? Come down this side, away from the cliff! Look, just get off my case, will ya? I'm doing fine without your... Adam! Adam! Are you alright? Thank you. What are you doing? You can't make it up here! It's too steep! It's too loose! Is there any way you can get back up? No way! Get out of here! This whole thing's gonna come down! Are you crazy? Listen to me. Everything's gonna... Will you listen to me? Now the cliff is right behind me. But I'm standing on a good rock. Now I'm gonna... You're gonna get crushed if one of these rocks fall. Adam, I'm gonna try to catch you. What? Let go of the rock and I'll catch you so you don't go over the edge. You're crazy. I'll crush you. Got any better ideas? I'll catch you, I promise. Josh! Trust me. Come on, Adam. Just let go. Trust me. Oh, no. Adam! You... You... You almost died for me up there. Uh, it was nothing. Nothing compared to what Jesus did when he died for you on the cross. Wouldn't you like to ask his forgiveness for your sins and receive him as your savior too? I... I just need a little more time to think about it. Dear Diary, Today, I asked Jesus to forgive me and come into my heart as my Savior. It was neat. God's done so much for us. I just hope Adam doesn't wait too long.
