Transcript: Ecclesiastes 12:12-14 - God's People Duty and Wisdom

Hello there, good morning and good evening my dear brothers and sisters. A warm welcome to one and all of you and I greet you in the name of a loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As always it gives me a great pleasure. I am absolutely privileged and very very honored, deeply honored and happy that we are able to always connect through these internet sessions and internet platforms. And you have no idea how much I am thankful to God, my Savior Jesus. and also to every one of you who are listening to these sessions and those that are really benefiting i really appreciate for taking this time out and you know you know listening to all these sessions that we are uploading and trust me these sessions doesn't come for free i'm a part-time minister and i'm trying my best to give these kind of sessions and coaching from the bible with the help of the Holy Spirit. And yeah, you continue to pray for me, pray for time and health and strength for me to deliver these messages in consistent intervals. Warm welcome to this short series where we are actually discussing about various topics, shorter topics, but quickly we are going to finish and we are going to deal with things. Therefore, you know, it's easy for you to grasp and also apply. So important thing is do not clap your hands and appreciate oh god brother what a wonderful message god-given skill is too nice what a talent and all that it's not about appreciating me it's not for my popularity i do this but i do this for the benefit of the mankind right every one of us have shortcomings every one of us have some or other weaknesses in our flesh every one of us will have some or other problems which is which pulls us down which pulls our spirit back which pulls our strength and energy back how we have to overcome right and you are not alone in the race if you are thinking oh why alone me why sorry why me alone i'm going through these kind of battles you're not alone every human being the poorest to the richest the smallest to the greatest right every one of them will have problems the only difference that you can make through this word of god is how you can be an welcome. Warm welcome today. We are going to discuss from the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 12 verses 11 to 14 is what I am going to read. But before I read, I want to entitle this message according to the KJV version's title. The title goes like this, the whole duty of man. Now, the whole duty of women also, brothers, sisters, both applicable. The whole duty of children also the whole duty of human being you can call it as so in this world you go around there are various age groups right there you have babies you have toddlers you have you know naughty kids right between four to five people by the way if the kids are not naughty then there is a problem they must be naughty they must go around and play right do not taunt them do not tell them don't do this and all that. Teach them discipline, which is nice. Because why? That's the duty of a kid. That's the duty of a three or four year old kid to run around and be active. If it is not active, that's when you got to be worried and go to the doctor and meet and check it up. What is wrong with my kid? I don't know. He's not moving around. She is not moving around. Right. That's the duty of a kid. The duty of the toddler is to make enough fuss to gain the attention of its own parents right because why it it needs that warmth it needs that touch right imagine if you were to lie down on the bed and nobody is contacting you you are not able to get them old people go through this problem because of all the bone problems issues and with muscles and all that they become bedridden you know what they long for they don't long for food or clothing or shelter or anything they long for your presence and it's very important to spend time with sick people right similarly a baby toddler the duty of a toddler is it needs attention that's why it's it will make a fuss simply right it won't be hungry it won't mama comes and lifts up then immediately it feels comfortable that's the duty of a toddler then the child grows up and it becomes a teenager the duty of a teenager are multiple things if you look um they have to study they have to plan for their future they have to in the sense from the the professional education perspective and they have to learn what is Bible and learn the instructions from the Bible and be obedient children of God. They need to apply the laws and commandments, what they are learning from the Bible. Why? Because these are the things which will bring all necessary course corrections in their life. And if they fail to bring the course corrections in that teen life, for example, at the age of 12 all the way to 19, right, teen, right, 19, then what happens the rest of the life will never fall in place elders will definitely understand this right those children which are definitely mischievous and those that have not studied enough and all that if you examine and see I will blame the parents right they never taught the discipline don't blame the kid right 12 year old kid should be given that admonishing touch should be given the direction should be given that warmth right shouldering that's called as parenthood right that's a duty of a parent I'm coming there shortly now I'm it's not a pep talk but it's very very important the Bible tells something else I will come to that in a moment but the duty of a human being is organized in such a way during various age groups in life and that exactly what I want you to be aware right we all know this but I just recapping After that you know the duty of a professional the kid you know gets into graduation and comes out, the duty of a profession, every one of those who shall not earn, shall not eat food. Paul the Apostle had written in one of his epistles, I forgot the verse but it is in the Bible which means every one of you who have gone into or come out of education or graduation or maybe you're not good at studies, you're good at some other talents. Listen to, you know, kids listening to me, young people listening to me. Don't tell me that, oh, brother, I did not study. In fact, I'm not able to study because God did not bless me with that intelligence. Don't blame God. God gave intelligence to everyone. But not necessarily you should be saying only if I have studied and graduated, I'm intelligent. Not like that, right? Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, the guys who have built this microsoft and um you know apple companies their school drops dropouts they haven't studied at all in kfc chicken that guy also has not studied all school dropouts and you see they are multi-trillioners they don't even know how much property they have like that god would have blessed you with some or other specialized skills and talents so examine that ask for god to lead you again you need god's grace again you need god's help and guidance you cannot stay on your on your own, even those that are graduated. If you are thinking my graduation will save me, tell me how many graduates have the jobs, right? Not even one third, not even one fourth. Many, many people are jobless and what happens is they don't get job according to their graduation skills. For example, I was a civil engineer. I became an IT engineer and I'm in this field flourishing and prospering absolutely by the grace of God. I can tell you this. I'm a good example standing right here in front of your living example. So, similarly, those that have not got jobs because of the graduation, ask God to lead you. Ask God for guidance. That is your duty. That is your duty. You got to find a place to work. If you are out of graduation, you got to be a profession. You know, pick that profession, profession which suits your graduation or your interest or your talents or your skills or whatever is necessary whatever is suitable you pick it up and move ahead in life god is going to help after you are a profession then you are all ready you know you're all you're all set for the marriage life and once you are married you have tremendous amount of duties you need to take care of your wives wives you need to take care of your husbands if you don't agree with me then take and read 1 corinthians chapter 7 i think there is a law of marriage that's given and i preached about it in various other sermons like i think it is in the body mind spirit and soul series i have spent almost eight nine hours only on the law of marriage 1 corinthians 7 is what i think just check out it is definitely in 1 corinthians right you need to know your duties earthly responsibilities and the husband you have duties you know you wives will have duties also i'm talking from the gospel only i'm not giving a pep talker that's why i'm giving you references then and there so when you get into the gospel and ask the word of god and lead by the word of god lead do things by the word of god and allow the holy spirit to help you things will fall in place now you get into the parenthood of course you are going to be good children and you are when the children is born you are all excited and all that but when the children when the child starts to grow i told you right toddler and teens and the profession and all that you get into a lot of you get to see a lot of changes at every stage in the life of your kid. Therefore, as a parent, you know what is your prime responsibility and duty? First of all, you need to be grounded and rooted in the word of God. You might hear million other things in your counseling sessions on the day of your marriage. The pastor would have told million other things. I'm not saying it is bad, but if at all your pastor or anybody had told you this thing, You yourself will have to be grounded and rooted in the word of God, which means you need to know all the laws and commandments. You need to know the doctrines. You need to know the spiritual values. You need to know the spiritual content, right? I mean to say the spiritual doctrines, spiritual priorities, everything as a package. And that includes the specific instructions from the New Testament with Jesus left behind. Very, very important. Why I am saying this is because if you are a half cooked vegetable as a parent, then what kind of guidance you can offer to your child? And you think the child will not discover this from you? He will discover, he or she will discover soon. This guy himself is not practicing many things and how is that you are advising? These days children are very smart. At the age of 7 or 8, they get exposed to almost everything in the world. They just know everything. Therefore, when you start to advise and lead your children, you need to be, first of all, living as examples. And what can get you there is none other than this word of God, is none other than this gospel. And you got to be grounded and rooted in this word of God. And that is the prime duty and responsibility of a married couple. then afterwards many things happens I have no time to explain all of that you know this is all a kind of a life cycle process you become grandparents you get your children married then the life cycle continues they get into the parenthood they get into the life cycle continues now these are the normal I mean natural phenomena and I quoted certain scriptural references now let us see what Solomon has got to say and then we will close right The whole duty of a man Now, I'm going to read from the word of God, Ecclesiastes chapter 12, verse 11. The words of the wise are like gods, and the words of scholars are like well-driven nails given by one shepherd. Well-driven nails. I can equate one more verse, Hebrews 4.12. The word of God is like a two-edged sword. that pierces into your heart right and that separates the cornel deeds from the spiritual deeds that is the soulish behavior is separated from the cornel behavior and it will allow you to stick to the soulish behavior it's very very important to ask god to help you to stick or adhere to the soulish behavior i'm sorry i'd heard to the soulish behavior the more you adhere to the soulish behavior it is easier for you to stay away from from the carnal deeds. That's what it means. And you know who is the biggest scholar in the Bible? There isn't any scholar greater than our Lord Jesus. And the second greatest scholar is Mr. John Apostle, sorry, Paul the Apostle, right? Because these two people were the ones who were very confident to say, obviously Jesus, Son of God, Father in him and Father himself came as incarnate deity. Of course, he says that, follow me. Paul the Apostle followed the footprints of Jesus and he had grown to such a level and he says, follow Follow me. Imitate me as I imitate Christ. 1 Corinthians 11.1. Very, very important verse. Right? And that 12 epistles excluding Hebrews. 13th one was Hebrews. I think he only wrote it, but there is no evidence. These 13 things are very, the 13 epistle, sorry, epistle books are the ones in which the whole world is revolving. You can connect it to business, you can connect it to your life, you can connect it to any problem, troubles, blessings, sickness, disease. You can just be an overcomer of anything and everything. And that's why it's important to be grounded and rooted in the word of God as I told you. And you've got to listen to the scholars, the two prime scholars. I'm not saying other prophetical books like Jeremiah, Isaiah and all is useless and all. Old Testament is very, very nice. You've got to know Old Testament because Matthew 5, 17 says, Jesus himself told, I did not come to abolish the law. I came to fulfill it, which means he lived according to the Old Testament first and then he extended the Old Testament after living as an example to the next level. Therefore, Old Testament is not bad. But of all this, the scholars are two prime guys. I'm not saying John the Apostle is bad or Peter is okay, average and all. I'm not rating anybody here. But these two people confidently said, follow me. Which means there is something, something tremendous, something rich. And you have to learn. And these two people spoke much of the practical things, right? How to live your life on earth? What can you, what would you expect from earth? What could you probably face on earth? and how you could be an overcomer. That's why he's saying, listen to the scholars and, you know, drill it into your head. Drill it into your brains, your thoughts, your spirit and your body and mind. All will have to work in coordination. And about which I've explained in the series, spiritual composition, body, mind, spirit and soul. There are 85 sessions available. Please listen. Please listen. Right. I beg you for one thing. Kindly make time and listen. I don't want money. I don't want your appreciation, anything. You appreciate me. I definitely accept it. But the thing is, I definitely beg you for something. Kindly listen to these words. These are all not my words or my voice. The Holy Spirit is talking to you. Right. I'm talking from the word of God. Let's move on. Verse number 12. And further, my son, be admonished by this. Admonishing means what you know. Enforcing yourself to learn new things in life. Enforcing yourself for changes, course corrections. right? Proverbs 6.23 you need to pray, ask God to instill that reproof and correction. Proverbs 3.11.12 says that as our father loves his son, God chastises us and punishes us and do not despise. Don't say God, don't punish me, I cannot bear it. Punish me God, break me if I am not right. Why? Because it's better for you to punish me and correct me here rather than me going unpunished here and burning in the lake of fire permanently. All of you understand this language, no? So, my point here is, right? you be admonished through this word of God and the Holy Spirit is going to help you these are the words of exhortations exhortation and admonishing are the ones which will shake you your life will never be the same when the word of God travels through your body, mind, heart and soul your life will never be the same guaranteed, right of making many book I will skip that, okay verse number 13 let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter this is the point and I am going to close in a minute or two fear God and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man fear God Psalm 111 verse 10 says fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge and understanding you know that right that verse everywhere it will be hanging but you don't know what it is you know what it's fearing God You don't be an actor going into his presence and saying, Oh, mighty God, you are so big and terrible and I am very scared of you. This is not called as fear. Fear is nothing but loving God with all your heart, mind and soul. Matthew 22, 37. Who can argue with me or with the Bible that what I am saying is not right? Fear means it not like you know you all have to have that respect and honor because he is God Almighty who runs the universe But above that he is your father and my father Abba Father You need to go to him with that fatherly love And when you love him with all your heart mind and soul Jesus said, no, that's the prime commandment. Right? Then, naturally, another commandment will fall in place. Love your neighbors as yourself. You will not have hatred, bitter, envy, competition, avenging attitude, defense, offense. Where is the room for all this nonsense? You don't have time for any of these. Why? Why? Because the love of God is grounded and rooted in your heart. Your character changes and becomes like God. What's God's character? Psalm 145, 8 and 9. Full of compassion, slow to anger, bound to everlasting mercies. Right? And His word never returns back to Him void. He's ready to go to any extent to help you. This is the character of God. And you become like God. Right? And where is the room for all this hatred that you are, you know, having against mankind and all the people. Right? you will never have that right so that is why it's very important fear god means what you love god and you want to learn from god and you want to become like god become perfect like god matthew 5 48 i'm giving you all scriptural references not my own fairy tales i'm not speaking some stories god expects you to be perfect like him and he says you can be perfect like me and it is man who rejects jesus says in john 14 12 you will do things just like i have done you're capable to do miracles heal people in my name be compassionate, everything that I've done you will do, more than me also you can do Paul was the only guy who proved it why? he was the only person who went to paradise and came back alive here Jesus himself didn't get that experience it's not that Jesus was incapable but Jesus left behind certain things unfulfilled in his own life, why? because that is his humility, that is his humility and that is his kindness towards mankind, therefore a person who is able to follow him is able to do things more than he had done and he appreciates that person. That's his humility, right? You are super talented, but when a person does something small, you have the attitude to go and pat him. Oh, wonderful work and all. Who are you? You are doing it from your heart. Don't act before man. Who are you? You are that humble person. Christ-like mindset. Philippians 2, 3 and 4. Lowliness and mindset. Spirit of humility. Like Jesus. Sorry, I got little excited. Fear God and keep his commandments. 613 commandments old testament and 100 and 1050 commandments and laws in the new testament put together 1700 almost what are these these are not traditional things yeah stand up sit down turn this side turn that's not like that it is all about life right how to lead your life in prosperity both spiritual and materialistic right who is saying spiritually will be prosperous materialistic you will be a beggar on the street bible is not saying that there are some spiritual idiots who are mentioning that right i'm not mentioning any congregation name here if somebody tells you spiritually you are prosperous materialistic you got to be a pauper or a beggar never believe them he is a false prophet our jesus never begged on streets he walked in prejudice and honor he had so much of money given his offering he did not go and loot money he had appointed a treasurer his name was judas iscariot wherever he went he would put his hand inside the money bag and he would bless people with money. Now who is saying materialistic prosperity is a sin? But do not love the money. Right? Do not have confidence in your bank balance. Always trust in God. That is the only principle needed. All this will fall in place when you apply these laws and commandments instructions in your life. What is this? This is the duty of a child of God. This is the duty of a believer. Last verse I will read and be close. For God will bring every work into judgment. Very important. And Jesus said this in Matthew 12, 36, you have to give an account of every deed, every work you do, every idle word you speak, useless word or any good words or useless word, anything you speak, you have to give an account in the White throne judgment, Revelation 20, 11 onwards, you take and read. And Solomon had written that already here, right? You have to, God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing. You are involved in secret sins, secretly you are hiding something here and there and all that. You are doing it for a fruitful purpose. You don't have to reveal, you don't have to be an open notebook before man, but be an open notebook before God. Sometimes you have to hide certain things, which is nice. What you are doing for a fruitful reason or a fruitful purpose, no problem. You don't have to keep on blabbering everything. I agree, right? Bible also agrees. But then don't have a secret thing before God or secret sins before God or men. Whether it is good or whether it is evil, right? Bible says that for all good reasons I did, brother. And you cannot hide something. For all bad reasons I did, brother. If you have a good reason or a bad reason, before God, do not hide it. but before men also you have to keep certain things you know secretion you can't reveal everything but then don't hide the secrets to basically loot other people's money or put some people's life in danger and all that these are the duties every human being are supposed to follow every child of God are supposed to follow I hope this session was useful God bless you, take care and I will meet you soon with the next session continue to pray for me continue to remember me and our ministries in your prayer.
