We ask you, Lord, to just watch over us and guide us each day. We just thank you for our listeners, and please watch over them and protect them. In Christ's name we pray. Amen. So we're in Psalms chapter 13, if you have your Bibles, or if you just want to listen and watch, that is fine too. But I'm going to bring my Bible up here so I can read this out of the Bible. So I'll be flipping through pages and then just listen. And verse 1, how long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? Forever, how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart? Daily, how long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O Lord, my God. Lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death. Lest my enemies say I have prevailed against him, and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. But I have trusted in thy mercy My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation I will sing unto the Lord because he hath dealt bountifully with me You know you ever have that time where everything seems like it going wrong you know and you just cry out to God and say Why God, why? Every time I seem like I pray, I just can't seem to get through to you. You know, and you're screaming at God, and you're like, why is this going? Why can't you fix this right now? I want that to be fixed. Well, that's what David's crying about here. He's wanting it fixed right away. But let's see here that here in chapter 13, 1 through 5, it says, David frequently lamented that God was slow to act on his behalf. We often feel the same impatience and doubt that God still cares. Evil and suffering seem to go unchecked, and we wonder when God will restrain them. But David affirmed that he would continue to trust God, no matter how long he had to wait for God. justice to be realized when you feel as though your prayers are not being answered remember David's steadfast faith in God's unfailing love so when you're struggling and you can't figure things out in life you know hold steadfast be steadfast like David's faith. You know, we need to have faith, be steadfast in it, you know, like David. And then chapter 13, 1 through 2, it says sometimes we need to do is to talk over a problem with a friend to help put it into perspective. In this psalm okay I sorry In this song the phrase how long occurs four times in the first two verses indicating that the depth of David distress will fall forgotten and invisible David expressed his anxiety and sorrow to God and found strength by the end of his prayer. He was able to profess hope and trust in God through prayer. We can express our feelings and talk our struggles out with God. He helps us regain the right perspective, and he gives us peace. Now, I do have something in my phone I want to go through. I found that it is kind of helpful to go through the phone and get another perspective. So I'm going to do that now. is the Lord God himself and others supposed to be a leader? A choir of musicians in David's time such as a him and a singer but the song transition starting in discouragement and despair. David finishes in a place of trust. Okay, and David, we look here at David in the first verse here. How long, O Lord, will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long, O Lord? It means that every child of God has asked this question at one time or another, and that every follower of God has felt neglected by God, or at least that they have waited a long time for God to do what needs to be done. If the reader has never yet found an occasion to use the language of the brief ODE will do so I don want the error long if he be a man after the Lord own heart How long the question is repeated no less than four times It is broken very intense desire for deliverance, a great anguish of heart. It is not easy to prevent desire from degenerating into impatience of or for his grace that while we wait on God, we may keep from indulging and murmuring spirit. How long is critical question. Often we faint under a single simple length of our trials. We feel we could endure almost anything if we knew when it would come to an end. Yet, sometimes we are tried under problems that make us cry out how long. so crying out to God in prayer yes but it's in God's time right that fixes the problem and we see David he waited he waited and waited and he still cried and yet he got delivered delivered in the prayer and if you're going through a problem today let me stipulate that humbly pray to God and keep praying and he will answer your prayers. It's when you don't pray and you don't seek God for your guidance that's when the problem keeps on persisting. You need to pray and ask God to fix the problem in your life. That's in a prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we just thank you so much for your time, Lord. And we just thank you so much for all that you do, Lord. Thank you for our listeners and our new ones that may be watching. We just thank you so much for this time that we can share, Lord. In Christ's name we pray. Amen. Hey, have a great day.
