Greetings, classic cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lockhart, Pastor Jay, here with you once again, bringing you another silver screen spotlight. And today we just want to spotlight a couple of Kevin Costner films, brand new to Blu-ray. Now, Kevin Costner is an icon in movies. Many people may remember him from two of our favorite films that he did. Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. You may remember that film. Pretty awesome. Little film. Pretty cool. Love it. Kevin Costner, Prince of Thieves. Pretty awesome. or maybe you remember him from one of his, probably one of his best roles, Dances with Wolves. This really is probably the best movie he ever did, in my opinion anyway. It really is an epic, epic film and really if you've never seen Dances with Wolves, you definitely should check that one out, but it is really good. But Kevin Costner has been making movies for many, many years, and the good folks at Warner Archive have went back into the archive to bring us two early Kevin Costner films in his career. We talking about Fandango and American Flyers brand new to Blu the month of April 2022 Pretty awesome little films Now, Fandango is about a bunch of college friends that go on one last road trip as they all face adulthood, possibility of the Vietnam War, all kinds of interesting things like that and tragic things, and just having to give up the college lifestyle and become adults. And a pretty, pretty cool little film. But what's pretty cool about this is you get Kevin Costner and you get Judd Nelson. I love Judd Nelson. Who didn't love Judd Nelson? Judd Nelson's probably best known to most people for maybe The Breakfast Club, although he's done multiplied hundreds of films but that's probably the one that people most remember Judd Nelson from but anyway this is a pretty cool little release I've never actually got to see this so this was my first time watching it and it's pretty cute pretty fun the only thing I will say and this is maybe just I shouldn't probably say it, but it is what it is. Kevin Costner at this point is, you know, hitting around 30 years old. And to play a college student, it's kind of pushing it a little bit. But you know because he just kind of doesn look so much like a college student And that not a knock on him That not saying oh well he looks terrible I mean he looks great But you can just tell he not the fresh college student But other than that, it is a really fun little film, a lot of good stuff. And definitely, if you would like to get a copy of this and you want more information about it, check out our full review of this film at Classic Cinema Plus. Definitely check that one out. Then we got American Flyers American Flyers is another really interesting film In the early years of Kevin Costner And it stars Kevin Costner and David Grant As brothers that are kind of struggling With the whole disease thing That has tragically taken the life of their father And that it could very well hit them at any time And so what are they going to do? Well, what they decide to do is get on their bikes and do a race across the Rocky Mountains and kind of a way to just bond in hopes that they can be closer and be a little more like brothers and have that one really awesome adventure that if perchance this is their last adventure, it's been a good one, you know? And I think it's a really, really cool little film. Very dramatic, very cool, and pretty awesome. Yeah so not really a whole lot bad I can say about this one It just a really good drama and it really awesome This one also has been reviewed by Full Written Review at Classic Cinema Plus Pretty awesome.
