I'm back now. We've got to start up our daily devotional again. We're in Psalms 25. Our theme for today is a prayer for defense, guidance, and pardon. As we trust in God, He grants these same requests for us. So let me move my camera back here a little bit. There we go. And so we see David here. He's going to go through a lot. We're going to go through a lot of verses here in chapter 25. Let's pray and we'll begin. Dear Heavenly Father, we just thank you so much. We can get back to sharing God's word with people across the world. Lord, we just thank you so much, Lord, that you have everything we need and everything is in the Bible. Lord, we just ask you, Lord, to bless our listeners today, Lord. I hope they're doing well, Lord. And we ask you, Lord, to just watch over them and protect them. And, Lord, just open their hearts and minds to the word today, Lord. And we just thank you so much for all that you're doing, Lord. Please put me aside, Lord, and forgive my ways also, Lord. And just help me, Lord, to share your word. In Christ's name we pray. Amen. So in Psalms 25, I'm going to bring this up so I can read it closer to me here. Verse 1, it says, get ready here because I know my fingers are so big and it's hard to turn these pages. So let me do that. In verse 1 it says, Show me thy ways, O Lord, teach me thy paths. Lead me in the truth, and teach me, for thou art the God of my salvation. On thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindness for they have been ever of old Remember not the sins of my mouth or the my youth nor my transgressions according to the mercies remember thou me for thy goodness sake o lord good and upright is the lord therefore will he teach sinners in the way the meek will he guide in judgment and the meek will he teach the way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth and to such and keep his covenant and his testimonies. For thy namesake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great. What man is he that feared the Lord? Him shall he teach in the way, and that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease, and his seed shall inherit the earth. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear them, and he will show them his covenant. Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he shall pluck my field out of the net. Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged. O bring thou me out of my distress. Look upon my afflictions and my pain, and forgive all my sins. Consider my enemies, for they are many, and they have me with cruel hatred. O keep my soul and deliver me. Let me not be ashamed, and for I put my trust in thee. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me for what brought on thee. redeem Israel O God out of all his troubles I was reading this and I want to say one more thing in this part where it says, redeem Israel. I think we change it and say, please redeem America, you know, oh God, out of all its troubles. You know, we need to pray for America. We see it everywhere we go. I mean, at the gas station, prices are going up. People are getting more tense, more feuding over a lot of school things. We see it in the school districts. We see it with the kids. It's just a lot of tension, a lot of feuding that is going on over the economy and the way things are running. we just have to pray more for America. So what we're going to learn today out of those scriptures are, let's go ahead and get into that, and that's going to be in, let's turn back one page, 25 to verse 2. he says for he hath founded it upon I'm sorry wrong verse oh my God I trust in thee let me not be ashamed let not my enemies triumph over me so 25.2 it says 72 Psalms almost half the book speak about enemies. Enemies are those who oppose not only believers but also God. God's way of living. We can view temptation money, success, prestige, lust as our enemies. But our greatest enemy is Satan. David asked God to keep his enemies from overcoming him because they opposed all that God stood for. If his enemies succeeded, David feared that many would think that living for God was futile. David did not question his own faith He knew that God would triumph but he didn want his enemy success to be an obstacle to the faith of others And then we got 25.4. It says, David expressed his desire for guidance, how to receive God's guidance. The first step is to want to be guided and to realize that guidance, primary guidance system is in his word, the Bible. Psalms 119 tells of this endless knowledge found in God's word by reading the Bible and continue learning from it. We will gain the wisdom to perceive God's direction for our lives. We may be tempted to demand answers from God, but David simply asks for direction. When we are willing to seek God, learn from his word, and obey his commands, then we will receive his specific guidance. So today we learned that in the scriptures is if we're wanting to seek for God's guidance, it's all right here in the Bible. and don't let the enemies that's out there conquer your faith you know sometimes we let other people try to conquer us but pray to ask God to give you his guidance out of his word his knowledge to help you deal with those type of people sometimes we let our own hatred run the runaway people when it was actually intended to us to share God's love to those people by sharing them the gospel. We just thank you so much for you joining us today. Let's end in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we just thank you so much, Lord, for this time when we can share your daily word to all the people, Lord. We ask you, Lord, that they would apply the scriptures to today. Help them, Lord, to seek you and your word. And we ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen.
