to welcome you to brighterdaybaptistchurch.com. This is Reverend Fred Proctor, Sr. Pastor, and the Lord's willing, we're going to do a little preaching here, and it's actually that my son Eric and I, we're going to be preaching a series of sermons on this, the title, Do It. Do it. What are you waiting on? Do it. So let's go to the Lord in prayer. Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we bow before you tonight and we come with a most thankful heart. Thank you for every blessing of life. Thank you, God, for giving us life and health and healing and providing all of our needs. Glory to your holy name. We thank you, Jesus. And I just pray and ask a special prayer for every person who's sick and afflicted and hurting. And pray for those who are going through difficult times or trials. And a special prayer for those who are not born again Christians. Because, oh God, it is so, so, so very important. Because we're going to leave here, Lord. And if we're not ready to go, oh, God, how terrible. Give us the power through the power of the Holy Spirit. Give us the words. Lord, we've studied, but we need the infilling power of Almighty God, the Holy Spirit. Help us to speak the very words that you would have us to speak that will touch the hearts and lives of people. And we'll thank you in Jesus name. I pray. Amen. And amen. Now, in the book of first Chronicles, chapter 28, I'm going to read two or three verses. This is, let me set the scene. Solomon has been anointed and is the new king. He's the son of David. He's the son of David and Bathsheba. and he's going to be the new king. And David is talking to him and to all the people of Israel. And, of course, this is talking to us. So I'm going to start reading. This is 1 Chronicles chapter 28. I'm going to just read about three verses, beginning with verse 19. All this said David, the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. In other words, he had it laid out like a blueprint, talking about building the temple. And of course, Solomon built it and it was a great and mighty temple. Verse 20. And David said to Solomon, his son, be strong and of good courage and do it. That's right. Right there. This is in the King James Version of the Bible. I'm going to read this back up and read this verse again. And David said to Solomon, his son, be strong and of good courage and do it. Fear not, nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee. He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord. 21. And behold, the courses of the priest and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God. And there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship, every willing, skillful man for any manner of service. Also, the princes and all the people will be holy at thy commandment. So here he is. He wanted to build a temple and he had been laying back supplies, everything that was needed for a long time. And he he had hopes in his heart to build the temple. But God told him, said, David, you're not going to build it because you have been a man of war and you have shed much blood. but your son Solomon will build it but David had all the everything that was needed and if you will read take the time to read this chapter you'll see how much gold that David had laid up and silver and brass and copper and brass everything everything that was needed was there and he is telling his son Solomon hey son everything that you need is here everything here is the blueprint and you got all these people and you and he said I been laying up and putting all this stuff And everything that needed is here And the people are with you. And he said to Solomon, do it. Just do it. You know, there is a whole lot in the Bible about doers. be ye also doers and not hearers only. There's a lot of people that hears the word and they may say, well, I'm going to do that. I'll do that later. I'll do that later. And it reminds me, some of you might remember, it was a long time ago on television or actually movies and then it was on TV. It was called Maul and Paul Kettle. Very comical, clean programs. And Maul Kettle was a hard worker. She really worked. She was really getting things done. But Paul, he was, like they'll say, if you look up in the dictionary and trying to find out the meaning of laziness, there'd be a picture of Paul Kettle because he was so lazy and his wife, Ma Kettle, would get on to him because it'd be raining and the roof was leaking and she'd say, Paul, I thought she was going to fix that leak. I thought she was going to fix that roof. They said, well, I'm getting around to it. He always talked about it. He said, I'm getting around to it. and she'd get a little tighter on him and he'd say well you know when it's raining I can't fix it and when it's not raining it don't need fixing as far as I know he I never saw him uh he might have got around in the movie fixing it but he so many people I'm getting around to that I'm gonna get around to that and you know something if you're gonna do anything for God first of all First of all, make sure that you are a born-again Christian. Nicodemus was the religious leader of the Jews, Israelites. And he came to Jesus by night and said, We know that you have to be sent from God because no man can do these things that you're doing unless he's sent from God. And Jesus said to Nicodemus, you must be born again. Well, he didn't understand that. He didn't know. He said, can a man go back like I'm old? And he said, can a man go back in his mother's womb? And he said, no, that's not what I'm talking about. You were born physically, but you must be born again. And it's a spiritual birth. A spiritual birth. that which is in you that part of you which lives forever and ever and you cannot we cannot separate the soul and the spirit you can't do it but that part listen you are going to live somewhere forever oh well i know but i i i'm going to die listen this bible teaches this bible certainly teaches that the very moment that you die you go wherever you're going for eternity if you're not a born again christian then you die when you die immediately you go into hell and if you're a born again christian you when you die immediately you go to be with the lord jesus christ but death is so certain i see it i've seen it i will share this uh on this small street that we live on just in over just a little over a year i have seen 12 people or know of 12 people that have died one one was my wife she died last august the third the covid and all these problems and just recently my next door neighbor a healthy man in his 50s found him in the dead in the bed dead and in that house three people three men have died all on the street people have died and it uh and i spent i've been i started preaching in 1962 started pastoring in 1967 and i pastored eight southern baptist churches and have preached i have no idea how many funerals but there's one thing for certain it's appointed unto every one of us to die you're going to die it is real uh and the question is what are you going to do about it well you know most people uh take every precaution they can to take care of the flesh and that's fine you ought to you ought to go to the doctor You ought to take the medicine You ought to take care of your body Exercise and if you smoke you ought to stop it If you drink alcohol you ought to truly get right with God Because this body is the temple of the Lord. And you're going to die. And don't be like Paul Kettle. Well, I'll get around to that. I'm going to get around to that. Yeah, I'm going to get around. I will take care of all of that. And the first thing you know, you know what? You're only one heartbeat away from eternity. And then it's too late. There are no second chances when you leave this world. There are no second chances. There is no such thing as purgatory. That's something that a different denomination come up with. and it was talking about you put up enough money they can pray you out of hell no that's a lie hatched in the pits of hell if you leave this world and you have never accepted and asked Jesus Christ to come into your life and save your soul you're going to hell oh you say well preacher you're you're very blunt listen what would you expect me to do stand up and say well you know you ought to get this taken care of because you know uh well it's it's not a pleasant thing uh i've seen some preachers television preachers uh at one of them i heard him i personally heard him say oh i would never mention hell uh to my and he pastors a huge church and he said i would never say hell because it might make people nervous well if hell don't make you nervous you got a problem because once you go into hell it's there forever and ever and ever the only time you come out as you're brought up before God, before the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be judged by the books and the book. And that those books are, you say, well, I've done all these good deeds. Listen, no one was ever saved doing good deeds. No one. If you could be saved by doing good deeds than Jesus died of agonizing death on Calvary. It would be called a stupid thing that he done. If you could be saved any other way, then Jesus died in vain. But in order for us to be saved, there had to be someone who was perfect. the blood and again i'm gonna i'm gonna say it because i know there are people that say well i wish you wouldn't mention the blood listen thank god for the blood thank god for the blood for the bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins jesus shed his blood and he paid your sin debt and my sin debt. You see, people say, well, I'm not a sinner. Yes, you are. We're all sinners because we inherited the nature of our first family, Adam and Eve. and in Adam, because the blood comes from the man, in Adam there was sinful blood. God took care of Adam and Eve. He killed animals and they were shedding of blood and he covered them over and they were forgiven. But it had to be someone who had no sin, totally no sin and every sacrifice that's ever been given in the Bible and you read about it from Genesis all the way through and it was all a sign pointing to Calvary and what Jesus would do Jesus went to the cross because he loved you he died he who knew no sin was made sin that we might be made the sons of God through him John chapter 3 verse 16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever that's you and you and everyone that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. And I say to you, if you are not a Christian, right now is the time to do it. Call upon him. Say, Lord Jesus, I am not a Christian. I'm not ready to die. I don't want to go to hell. Oh, what a terrible place. And I ain't ever going to get out. I don't want to go down there. then call upon the Lord Jesus Christ. You don't have to do any great big things. From your heart, this old Lord Jesus please come into my life and save me I have put this out but I saw it on one of my Facebook pages about three months ago someone had made this statement I hear a whole lot about being saved and this person asked the question saved from what? well I'll answer it for everybody saved from hell saved from hell listen do it do it do it don't be like Paul Kettle I'm going to get around to that he never got around to it and you won't get around to it it'll slip up on you and that quick that quick how many of you people who are watching this or will watch it, I'll ask you this question. Do you think that you're going to die in the next 10 minutes? No. No, you don't think that. But can you guarantee that you won't die in the next 10 minutes? No, you can't. You can't guarantee that. Be ye also ready. For in such an hour as you think not, the Son of Man cometh. You've got to be ready. So do it. Just do it. Be ye doers. Get up and get on your knees if you can. If you're where you can't, that's all right. Just bow your head. You can close your eyes. And so Jesus, have mercy upon me. Excuse me. And don't let me die and go to hell. God saved me. God called me. I know that when God issues a call, I was called before I was ever formed in my mother's womb. He called me into the ministry. I wasn't looking to go into the ministry. I'd been in the military twice and was really climbing the ladder, so to speak. But I knew that God was dealing with me and calling me to preach the ministry, preach the gospel into the ministry. And I put it off and tried to get away from it, but I couldn't. So I said, I'll do it. Because I was under conviction so bad, running from God, not because I was not a Christian, but because I didn't want to preach. But listen, we have in us, The message of hope. The message of the gospel. The simple gospel. The simple gospel. I ask you this question that God asked right here in this Bible. Why will you die when you can live? Why? Why will you die? in hell or go to hell. You won't be dead. Oh, no. You'll have all your faculties. And we have the Bible to back that up. The rich man and Lazarus. He was in hell and he knew all about it. And he asked Abraham, said, send Lazarus that he might just put his finger down in water and bring me one drop of water. For I'm in torment in this flame. Oh, God. I hope. I pray, Almighty God, the Holy Spirit, that you will deal with people. Oh, Lord, open their eyes and know there is a hell. and you can be taken out of this earth in one heartbeat. You won't. A little short message. The gospel entitled Do It. And I pray that people who are listening and watching will do it and accept you as their Savior. All the provisions have been made. All you have to do is to accept it and ask him to come into your life and save your soul. Almighty God, I pray, I pray, I pray that brighterdaybaptistchurch.com will be a medium. And the media for hundreds of millions of people will hear the gospel and respond to it and accept you as their Savior. Thank you, Father. Thank you, Almighty God, the Father, Jehovah. Thank you, Almighty God, the Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you, Almighty God, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity. Yes, thank you. In Jesus' name I humbly pray. Amen. and amen.
