Greetings, Classic Cinema TV fans. This is Jason Locker, Pastor Jay, here with you once again, bringing you another Flashback Friday. And today on this Flashback Friday, we're talking about a classic TV series, one that is from the great Irwin Allen. Now, Erwin Allen, you may not know the man in name, but no doubt you have watched some of his films or TV series. We're talking about a man that brought us Fantastic Voyage, the amazing Poseidon Adventure, one of my favorite TV series of all time, The Time Tunnel. talking about a voyage to the bottom of the sea, or this recent release we recently picked up, Lost in Space, the complete series. Now, this is a really interesting little TV series, and we're going to tell you why it's so interesting. Maybe you remember the adventures of Swiss Family Robinson, like something like this, this Disney film, Swiss Family Robinson. Well, what it is is Erwin Allen decided to take the family Robinson and say, you know what? They were on a desert island. What if they're caught in space? And thus he takes the Robinson family and puts them adrift in space for adventures. And that's where we get lost in space. basically it's about the family Robinson that are space travelers and they're trying to colonize the world is trying to colonize space now and so they put the Robinson family on a spaceship and shoot him out to try to figure out how to colonize right And lo and behold isn there a stowaway there that is trying to sabotage the whole workings? And he gets caught there as well. And now they're all lost in space. And each week it was a new adventure with aliens or creatures or whatever the case may be. And it was always so, so cool. You had that big Robbie the Robot, right, that was always, Danger, danger, Will Robinson, danger, you know. It was just a fun series. And every week you would end with a cliffhanger, right? They would come out to the point where it would be, okay, this is the end of this week, and then it would be, okay, they get you right to a point, and then they would say, next week, you know, and then you would like, it was, kids back in the generation would have been like, no, a whole week, you know, well, thankfully, now we don't have to do that, right, you know, it's interesting, because that's That's the cool thing about the advent of being a classic film fan and a classic TV fan in this generation because you don't have to wait a week. You have the box sets and then you can just jump right into the next adventure. And that's what makes being a physical media fan and a fan of just movies and TV series from the older generation such a thing because now we can watch them run right after the others. Pretty, pretty awesome. I saw this box set and I was like, and it was really, really, really cheap. So I was like, I'm picking this up because I've wanted it for a long, long time. Completely digitally remastered in widescreen, which, yes, please. I love that box art though That is so cool And I love these box arts because see or box sets See this this is a huge humongous box set right And I love this because normally they not protected really well because you pop them open. This one actually has a lock. See that? It has a lock on it. You pop that open, see, and then it comes open. Okay, so you can actually lock it down so it won't fall open. That, I think, is spectacular because we have, like, The Lucy Show and I Love Lucy and The Untouchables and, let's see, Streets of San Francisco and, let's see, The Fugitive in so many different box sets like this, and they don't have that lock, and that makes this really, really cool. I like that. I wish they all would have had the lock. That's pretty cool, but anyway, as with all these box sets, they come out like this, and then you have your DVDs all like that. Only thing that I don't particularly care for, I wish they would have color-coded these differently. That would have been nice each season differently. That would have been Very, very nice to see Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3 being in different color codes. That would have been better. Then you have a better idea, but oh well. It is what it is. What are you going to do? On the inside cover, you get all of the episodes there listed. Pretty awesome, so you can keep up to date where you're going on there. That's pretty awesome. They have some pretty cool bonus features in this set as well. No Place to Hide, the original unaired pilot of Lost in Space, which is cool. Network television spots, original network preemption bumpers with Jonathan Harrison, the guy that is the actual saboteur That pretty cool And the robot Syndication TV spots network presentations special bonus Lost in Forever I love this. A special bonus Lost in Space Forever, the 1998 television special. That's pretty cool. And so much more. All is on this box set. So that's pretty, pretty awesome. This is just a little flashback remembering Lost in Space. I always enjoyed this series, and I never got to see the whole thing. So now we're getting a chance to watch the whole thing. I watched, like, episodes here and there, and that was about all I got to do. And now we get to enjoy the entire series, all three seasons, on DVD in digitally remastered widescreen. So that is awesome. So, yeah, if you're a fan of classic science fiction, definitely, definitely, you're going to want to check out the Lost in Space collection, the complete series.
