Greetings, classic cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lager, Pastor Jay, here with you once again, bringing you another Flashback Friday. And today we are talking about a classic movie series, movie and TV series. We're talking about The Untouchables. Now The Untouchables, many people may only remember The Untouchables from this film here, The Untouchables, which had an all-star cast. We're talking Kevin Costner. We're talking Robert De Niro. We're talking Sean Connery, all in this release here about The Untouchables. Now, The Untouchables basically was about Elliot Ness and his group of cops that were going after organized crime, people that were icons of organized crime, such as Dutch Schultz and Al Capone and Bugs Moran and so many of them, they were after these ones to try to take down organized crime and clean up the streets and the world. Now, this film here really goes into detail and kind of takes it to extreme levels in a lot of ways. But sometimes, in my opinion, while this film is amazing, it doesn't quite grasp the stories that it could because there's only so much you can tell in about two hours. You can't go into great detail with the stories of these brave guys, these brave men that went out there and took on these murderous people. So it was very difficult to tell the gravity the scope of the stories of the untouchables in just a uh about two hour film i mean it it very hard to do that so what do you do of course long before this film came out there was the untouchables tv series yes the untouchables uh of course uh same premise as the movie. The Untouchables was about Elliot Ness and his group that would go after these members of organized crime and all. And it was amazing. And these lawless people that were bank robbers and bootleggers and all kinds of interesting things. So just amazing, amazing. And now this series was, of course, produced by Desiluve Studios. Now Desiluve Studios is best known for their being the studio that produced I Love Lucy, but they produced so many more shows and so many iconic shows, and one such of the iconic shows was The Untouchables. Love this series. Love this box set here. The Untouchables stars Robert Stack as Elliot Ness, and love Robert Stack's version of Elliot Ness. Just soft-spoken and just kind of like seems so easygoing, right? And I love that. This is a three-season set. You get three seasons in this box set here. And just some of the characters that are highlighted in these shows include, of course, Al Capone with the Scarface Mob, Ma Barker and Her Boys. Ma Barker, that is an, oh, that's a great one. George Bugs Moran's story. You've got Vincent Mad Dog Cole. You've got The Artichoke King, a very good episode. Dutch Schultz's story. So many. We could go on forever just telling you all. The Frank Nitti story. Jack Legs Diamond Rusty Heller story the Otto Frick story Just amazing stuff just amazing stuff Nick Moses story is in this uh it just awesome So it's just, it's just jam-packed with awesome stuff, right? Three seasons in this, and there also is, uh, because it's Desilu Studios, they threw something in that's kind of, uh, cool in here. Now, if you have the Lucy Show box set, which we do in the collection, and I'm not going to drag it out because I'd have to go look for it. I just don't have time to do that. But we got a box set of the Lucy Show, which is this, just like this set. And you won't need it, but this is the Lucy Show. Lucy, the gun mole, is in this, which is pretty cool as a little bonus feature. So as always, with these sets, you get your DVDs like this, okay? And they're all like that. And no worries, they do come out easily so they don't break, which is nice, okay? And then also when you take those out, then you can see all of the stuff on the inside, which is better because then you can read what is on what disc and then you can figure it out for yourself. That's better. If it was hooked in there, it would be very hard to enjoy this and be able to see it without breaking. And this would probably break too. So it's kind of good that they do it that way. I love the Untouchables. I really do. I've always enjoyed The Untouchables, and I've been kind of watching them again here lately and just enjoying these episodes again, and they are so good. I've always been a fan of biographies, right? So I one time watched the biography of Al Capone, and when I saw the biography of Al Capone, I was like, that's really interesting. And then I wanted to dive in more to the organized crime people and their biographies. And when I started watching those, it was like, these are really interesting. And then I got into Elliot Ness and found out about him And I was like that is awesome too And then when I found out the Untouchables and all I was like okay I all in and so yeah that was pretty cool so I got to check out this amazing, amazing collection, and I am so happy I did, because, yeah, it is so cool. If you have never seen the Untouchables, definitely, definitely, we suggest checking it out. If you're a fan of classic crime dramas, The Untouchables is absolutely spectacular. While the feature film is good, this is a thousand percent better because you can take your time with each story and you can enjoy the stories of these characters. I just think that's amazing. And The Scarface Mob is basically a movie if you really get down to it. It's a two-parter, but really when you get right down to it, it's a movie. It's a two-part movie. It's about an hour and 30, an hour and 40 minutes long. So it's a movie. It's a movie event of the Scarface mob dealing with Al Capone, and it is so cool. And it's the setup for this series, which is just amazing. So, yeah, definitely check out The Untouchables. We do highly, highly suggest them. All right.
