church. Please keep us in prayer. We're having technical difficulties here where I'm at and just trying to get the gospel out. And I know Satan wants to conquer and destroy. But we're just so happy that you're here today. And we're wanting to, like I said, get this gospel message out to you, this sermon. This makes my third time trying to get this up. So we're hoping that this will hold and we can move on forward. But today we're going to be in the book of Mark and it'll be chapter, I mean the first book of Mark and then be a verse 14 and working our way down. Let's begin in the word of prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we just thank you so much, Lord, and we just thank you, Lord, that you watch over us and protect us, Lord. And we ask you, Lord, to please bless our listeners with this sermon today. And please, Lord, to help it with this technical stuff that's going on. We ask you, Lord, that you would just empower us and, Lord, forgive us of our sins and our ways, Lord. And help my mind and help me, Lord, just get out of the way. And you work through me, Lord. In Christ's name we pray. Amen. So we're going to have to bring this up so you can see it. they're talking about the baptism of Jesus and it says in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and were baptized by John in the Jordan and when he came up out of the water immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the spirit descending on him like a dove and the voice came from heaven and it says, you are my beloved son with you I am well pleased. Okay, then we continue on here. And this was the temptations of Jesus. It said the spirit immediately drove him out in the wilderness and he was in the wilderness for 40 days being tempted by Satan and he was with wild animals and the angels were ministering to him. Okay, then we're going to go ahead and move forward. And then Jesus begins his ministry. And then we're, like I said, in Mark, now 14. And it says, now, after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, the time is fulfilled. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, believe in the gospel. and then we begin I believe here in our commentary and it says number one it is the gospel it is God's word and is faithful and true okay in John's preaching and baptizing there was the beginning of the gospels doctrines and ordinances of the firstfruits of them. He preached the remissions of sin, which is the great gospel privilege, showed people their need of it, that they were undone without it, and that it might be obtained. Number two he preached repentance in order to it There must be a renovation of the hearts and a reformation of their lives that they must forsake their sins and turn to God and on those terms and no other, their sin should be forgiving of repentance, for the remissions of their sins was what the apostles were commissioned to preach in all the nations. And number three, he preached Christ. He directed his hearers to accept him speedily to appear and to expect great things from him. The preaching of Christ is pure gospel. And that was John's Baptist preaching. so we look here that the preaching of Jesus Christ he told about the kingdom is at hand repent now and turn to him see I think there's a thing a lot of us right now there's needing there is a needing of the soul to repent. But the earth around us is so desirable, you know, so much stuff. How many sport games are on? How many of this is going on? Do we take time and repent of our sins to God or do we set it aside for something else? Let me ask you that. Do you set time to repent and confess your sins to God? Or do you set a lot of time, more time, about the things of this earth? Because what I'm seeing in this world today, let me look at America. I mean, America's running rapid with all this stuff that's going on, right? I believe that America needs to repent. People in America need to repent and turn back to God. I see the circumstances of people. Let's take man wanting man and woman wanting woman. And, you know, what about this thing that man can have babies? You know, all this crap that's going on in this world. But we're not, you know, I think that God has probably gave a lot of people over to a depraved mind. They're blinded. But I believe if you want to get right with God, I believe you need to repent from your sins, and you need to turn back and get right with God. So if you want to be blessed by God, you need to repent and then move forward to God instead of running away from God. So is it time? Yes, it's time. Do you need to set time for God? Yes, you do. How else? You know, God created us to have prayer with him. You know how much time do you do to spend time in prayer to God today How much time Do we want things to be better in the United States for our children children children Or do we want to still live in a corrupt United States and let our generations and our generations and our generations fall? It's up to us. it's up to us to pray diligently in our heart and in our mind to see our nation turn around I'm asking all of Brighter Day Baptist Church I'm asking everybody that is listening to me right now it is time it is time to pray diligently for United States because if we don't, our country will never, ever come out of it. We'll be a cursed nation, and a big portion of our nation is already cursed. You know, when we look at the flag, it says United States. Well, let me tell you right now, it's called divided, divided states. That's what it is. Divided people thinking they live in a united country. No, it's not a united country. It's a divided country. And the only way it can ever be united again is by God's grace and praying to him for repentance so that we can turn back to God so we can get united on one thing, and that is God-driven homes. The problem is God's not in the households of America. And we need to get God back in the households. We need godly fathers, godly mothers, and godly kids to be on their knees and praying for our nation. How else is it going to get turned back to God? Look, a lot of our churches are closing up because they don't want to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. They call us sin a sickness. Yeah, they go to all these counselors for sickness. I call it sin. And God ain't going to put up with sin. And God is going to come back and judge this world. So it's up to us as Christians to pray and pray diligently for the United States of America. You know, and look at John the Baptist, you know. During that time, these people were lost. They were hungry. They were scared. And look at the great promise. Look at the great gift that John was preaching to them. Repent and know that you can be saved. And look, and here comes Jesus Christ as the Lamb to show them. Right? And look what he did on the cross. Repent. Repent and turn back to him. Open your hearts. Open your minds to God's word. You can live instead of dying. He can give you wisdom. You know, why watch the news when it's all bad? Right? Look at the love and peace that Jesus Christ gives you in the Bible. I mean this is God word right here And what do we do with that most of the time Most people not a lot of people they set it on a shelf and it collecting dust Get it off. Wipe it and dust things off. Start reading and implanting in the heart so that you can be transformed. The Bible teaches us to be renewed in our minds so we renew our minds, we can renew our hearts. And when we do that, we become renewed people living in a time where we can make changes for the better for our for our people around us for our loved ones and for our nation it's time it's time please listen to me it is time to be renewed it is time for your hearts to be changed it is time for your minds to be changed don't let this news media and stuff that's out in this world change the way you think. It's a danger. It's a danger. There's too much in this world to get wrapped up in. It's either sports or it's just hobbies or anything you want to do. I don't mind you doing hobbies. I don't mind you doing things, but put God first. Put God first so things will be in order. Quit being blinded to what this world offers when God offers a whole lot more. The Bible teaches this. What is it for a man to lose his soul and die and go to hell and gain the whole world? It is better for a man to have repentance and save his soul so when he dies he can have eternal life in heaven. So I'm preaching to you today. Everybody that's listened to me today, turn back to God. Ask for repentance. It don't matter if you're a Christian or not. And if you're a Christian and you've done things wrong, you need to repent and get back to God. Get back to God so he can help you down the road. And there's two gates. There's a wide gate and a narrow gate. and the one that finds the narrow gate finds life. Not the wide gate, not the wide road or the narrow road or a wide gate road. You got to find the narrow road, which is Christ. Listen, God loves you. I love you. Listen in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we just thank you for this message, Lord. We ask you, Lord, to please, I pray, Lord, heart, that people would just change their minds and change their hearts to open your word today. I pray if there's someone that's lost that's listening to this message, I pray, Lord, that they would come to know you through your son Jesus Christ. I pray, Lord, that you'd just please bless this message and touch those around the world. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.
