Music Praise the Lord. Welcome to this series titled Miracles from the Bible. I am Dr. Johnson Sherian and I will be reading a passage from 1 Kings chapter 17. And Elijah the Tishpite of the inhabitants of Gilead said to Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word. Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the brook Cherith which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook. And I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. So he went and did according to the word of the Lord. For he went and stayed by the brook Cherith which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening. And he drank from the brook. The word of the Lord comes to Elijah. And God tells him three things. One, go and hide yourself by the brook charith. Second, he tells him that you shall drink from the brook there. And the third thing that God tells him is something miraculous. He says, I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. Hiding him by the brook charith, we can understand. God is telling him that because King Ahab was going to search for him to kill him. Because Elijah had given a difficult prophecy here. That there won be any rain or dew And the lion was going to suffer So God did that for his protection But the second thing that God tells him is drink from the brook Cherith That a natural thing If you are thirsty you drink water from the brook But the third thing that he tells him is something miraculous. God tells him that I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. And we read that the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening. There is something supernatural in ravens bringing bread and meat to him in the morning and in the evening. It's not something that happens naturally. God himself spoke to the ravens. God arranged the ravens for Elijah. As we live our lives as Christians, all these things come together in our lives too. There are things in the natural and there are things in the supernatural. God arranges all these things for us in our lives. He wants to protect us. Has he protected Elijah? He wants to provide us through natural means as He provided water through the brook but He also provides us supernaturally and He decides it when it should be like that. Praise the Lord. So as we live close to the Lord, the Lord is always watching upon our lives. He provides us protection, He provides us things naturally and He provides us things supernaturally also. And I exhort you this day to live close to the Lord so the Lord can do great things in your life too. May God bless you with these thoughts. Praise the Lord. you
