Thank you. Praise the Lord. Welcome to this series titled Miracles from the Bible. I am Dr. Johnson Sarian. I am reading a small passage from Mark chapter 1. Verse 23 onwards we read, Now there was a man in the synagogue with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, saying, Let us alone. What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Did you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God. But Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet and come out of him. And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him. Praise the Lord. You read about a great miracle here that Jesus did. This is a man who is in the synagogue, the place where the Jews used to worship. and he had an unclean spirit in him, an evil spirit in him. And he was crying out. When he saw Jesus, it cried out, let us alone. What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? But Jesus, he just rebukes the spirit there and says, be quiet and come out of him. And when the unclean spirit had convulsed the man and cried out with a loud voice he came out of him so Jesus here rebukes an evil spirit that is there in a man it was troubling him and causing him sickness convulsing him but Jesus rebukes that evil spirit and we see that the man had a great deliverance and the people were amazed and saying that what is this, what new doctrine is this for with authority he commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him in Mark chapter 16 we read that Jesus spoke to his disciples and told them he who believes in me these signs shall follow them. In my name they shall drive out demons. And we see that the disciples later on when they were sent out by Jesus, they did great miracles and they used to cast out demons from many people. And Jesus has given the same authority to every person who is filled with the Holy Spirit of God, who has the anointing of the Holy Spirit of God. Even today, Jesus is delivering people who are possessed by unclean spirits, oppressed by unclean spirits because Jesus is the name above all names. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. This man was in the synagogue but he had an unclean spirit and Jesus rebuked the evil spirit and he was set free. The Bible says from the sun sets free. He is free indeed. And Jesus is able to deliver you and me from unclean spirits too. There is power in the name of Jesus. There is power in the blood of Jesus. There is power in the word of Jesus. And the Holy Spirit is powerful to set us free to. May Jesus bless you with these thoughts today. Praise the Lord. you
