Thank you. Praise the Lord. Welcome to the series titled Miracles from the Bible. I am Dr. Johnson Charyon. I will be reading a small passage from Matthew chapter 17. Verse 24 onwards, when they had come to Capernaum, those who received the temple tax came to Peter and said, Does your teacher not pay the temple tax? He said yes And when he had come into the house Jesus anticipated him saying What do you think Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes? From their sons or from strangers? Peter said to him from strangers And Jesus said to him then The sons are free Nevertheless Lest we offend them Go to the sea cast in a hook And take the fish that comes up first And when you have opened its mouth You will find a piece of money take that and give it to them for me and for you certain people came to Peter and asked him a question whether Jesus was paying the temple tax I don't think Peter knew that but he said yes and then when he met Jesus in the house Jesus had overheard this conversation that's why Jesus is asking Simon Peter a question from whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes sons or strangers and Peter said from strangers and Jesus tells him that the sons are free but so as not to cause an offense to people. Jesus tells Peter go to the sea cast in a hook and take the fish that comes up first when you opened its mouth you will find a piece of money take that and give it to them for me and for you. This is an astounding miracle because the sea is full of different kinds of fish but Jesus prophecy is that the first fish that you catch you will find the money that is needed for you to pay the tax for you and for me and this is one miracle that we have to believe by faith that it happened because the chapter ends there we do not read that Peter went to the sea or caught the fish and that is what faith is when you read the word of God you believe that whatever is written there when you accept it with faith then you will see the miracle in your life too now here Jesus tells Peter sends him on a mission and I believe that Peter did it and that the tax money was paid for Jesus and for Peter believe in the word of God believe in his promises have faith and God will do great things in your life too. God bless you with these thoughts. Praise the Lord. you
