Music Praise the Lord. Welcome to this series titled Miracles from the Bible. I am Dr. John Censurian and I will be reading verses 20 and 21 from 2 Kings chapter 13. Then Elisha died and they buried him. And a raiding band from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year. So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha. and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood on his feet what a wonderful miracle we read of in this small passage earlier in the chapter we read that Elisha had become sick with an illness of which he would die and he died and now later on only his bones are there in the place where he was buried and we read that reading bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year and as they were burying a man they suddenly spied a band of raiders so what did they do they put the man in the tomb of Elisha and they went away and a great miracle happened there because as soon as the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood on his feet a dead man coming back to life you know about Elisha that he was a great prophet of God and he was the prophet of Israel after Elijah and we read that a double portion of the anointing was upon his life If you read 2 Kings 2 we read of Elijah asking Elijah questioned before he is taken into heaven What may I do for you before I am taken away from you And Elijah says please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me. And he said, you have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you. But if not, it shall not be so. And then it happened. As they continued on and talked that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire and separated the two of them and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven and Elisha saw it. Praise the Lord. And later on the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him and they said the spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha. And Elisha did great miracles in Israel and after completing his ministry for the Lord we see that Elisha he was sick with an illness and he died. the dead man who fell onto Elisha's bones, he came back to life there are so many wonderful miracles that we read in the word of God in the Old Testament and in the New Testament and as we keep meditating on these miracles, our faith in God our faith in His power increases so I exhort you to read the word of God and meditate upon it, meditate upon the miracles that you read in the word of God, your faith will rise and you will believe that God can do great and wonderful things for you too.
