Greetings, Classic Cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lager here with you once again bringing you another Flashback Friday. And today we are so excited. We are so excited about this. A brand new release from the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment. This one was so good that we couldn't help but share it. And we're talking about a newer classic, if you will, a newer classic TV show. Now on DVD, the complete series, The 70s Show! Oh, yeah, this is pretty amazing. Now, I have to be honest with you. I actually never watched that 70s show. When this was on the air, I was, well, I was younger, and I was not allowed to watch certain types of shows because I was too young, and I just couldn't do it. They wouldn't let me. so uh so i so i couldn't watch it and and then when reruns happened i just kind of was watching other things and i i just didn't get into it right so i kind of it kind of bypassed me and then when mill creek entertainment said they were going to release that 70s show in a very special the complete series in a very special uh box set like this i was like what you gotta be kidding me And I was like, yes, please, let's go. Let's go. So anyway, basically that 70s show follows a bunch of teenagers just hanging out and being crazy. That's basically the premise. It's just a bunch of teenagers hanging out, being crazy, and just getting into all kinds of trouble. Well, what kind of a better premise for a series can you have than that? I mean that great So anyway I have checked out a couple of these because I was like I have to I have to see it I mean before I talk about it right So we going to have a full written review on Classic Cinema Plus of course for this whole series once we get through it Yes, it's going to take a long time. You know why? Two hundred episodes! What? This is a lot to get through. But I am so glad. I'm so glad I get to go through this because I actually never got a chance to, so this is going to be awesome. Okay? Anyway, that 70s show, and I love that idea, that 70s show, right? Okay, you know, it's that 70s show. Okay, okay, I get it. And I love the psychedelic colors. That is a perfect way to do this box set with those psychedelic colors. It's just perfect. Anyway, Mill Creek Entertainment here is transferring all 200 episodes into one box set here. and these episodes have been remastered in high definition and in widescreen from film negatives, so that's pretty cool. And there's all kinds of bonus features included here. We get audio commentaries, behind the scenes featurettes, series retrospectives and blooper special, season overviews, promos, and so much more. All kinds of awesome stuff right here in this box set. Okay, now, there has been a lot of talk that we've seen online where people say, oh, what about Blu-ray? Okay, yes, okay, probably that would have been cool to see it on Blu-ray. I'm not going to lie, that would have been cool to see it on Blu-ray. But you know what? I'm happy with this. I have to be honest with you. I'm very happy with this. This does not bother me. I have to be honest, though, to be totally honest, I haven't been a big fan of Mill Creek's box sets like this the way they were originally because they were real flimsy. Now they're real sturdy. I mean, these are sturdy. You are not going – these are not going – I have so many of them here at Classic Cinema Plus Studios. and they crush because the boxes are flimsy. They're like a piece of cardboard, like you would get at the store that you just are writing on. That's the way they are. And if you're not careful, they crush One time we got sent the series Airwolf and it was one of those boxes and it was completely totally crushed I mean you had to kind of like try to tape it and make it the best it could be because it was just completely crushed. Mill Creek has done a lot better with these to where they're more sturdy. I like that. Okay, so flip it up, ba-boom, and then inside we got your sleeves. Okay, Now, a lot of people hate these. We've talked about this before. A lot of people hate these. I don't hate these. I actually don't hate these. I actually think this is okay. I have many, many collections of Mill Creek releases that are like this. It does not bother me because I know how to take these out. Some people just rip them out and you're going to scratch them. So put your finger in there, lift up, pull out like that. Push back in. Real simple. It's good. It's never going to scratch. I've had tons of these. I have tons of these in this collection here at Classic Cinema Plus Studios, and not one of them are scratched because I'm very careful with how I take them out and put them back. It's real simple. It's real easy to do. But this is a pretty fun little show. Like I said, we've watched about seven or eight episodes, maybe ten. Maybe ten. I don't know. It might be closer to ten. But anyway, we have watched quite a few, actually, to get an idea of what the show is. I actually am enjoying it. I really am. I'm actually enjoying the show. I think the show is pretty funny. And I'm looking forward to jump into more of them. The quality here looks spectacular, in my opinion. There's no real pixelation of picture and all. Sometimes that was one of the things that a lot of people will scream about is that when you put so many episodes on one disc, you get pixelation. You get all the DVD archiving and all that type of stuff where it's like all these, and it just doesn't look good. I don't see any problem with any of these discs. and you're talking about 12, 13 episodes on a disc. I don't see any problem with any of them. I really like it. So we're going to have a full written review once we get through all 200 episodes. 200 episodes We only got 190 to go Oh my goodness Yeah. Wow. 190 yet to go. Dude. We going to be binging, man. We going to – one thing that Mill Creek – they stopped using that. But what they used to have on here, on their packaging, was ready, set, binge. That's what I'm going to have to do with this. 200 episodes. Ready, set, binge. You know it. Get some popcorn, some Twizzlers. You know I love me some Twizzlers. Those of you that know me know I love me some Twizzlers. I've got to watch that. I've got to watch that. That's bad. That's bad. But anyway, I can go through a Twizzler pack like that. Anyway, so I can't do that. But anyway, get some popcorn, two or three Twizzlers, that's it. Anyway, big old bottle of water. I know, I know. Some people say, water? What about Coke? What about Pepsi? I don't drink that anymore. Drinking water. Anyway, why am I saying all this? I don't know. I'm telling you everything in my business. I don't know. Anyway, we're being healthy. Anyway, but anyway, this is a really awesome show. You definitely, definitely need to check it out. It's a lot of fun. It really is. From what I've seen, it is a lot of fun. And I love this box set from Mill Creek Entertainment. It is really, really cool. I'm glad that we have it in our collection here at Classic Cinema Plus Studio so that we can relive this show. Once we get through it, we'll relive it again. Maybe not right away. But anyway, eventually. But we do appreciate Mill Creek for sending this our way. We will have a full written review at Classic Cinema Plus very, very soon. You can check out all the reviews of all kinds of Mill Creek Entertainment releases at Classic Cinema Plus. We also want to thank you for watching. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe.
