Thank you. Praise the Lord. Welcome to this series titled Miracles from the Bible. I am Dr. John Censarian and I will be reading verses 5 to 8 from Mark chapter 2. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, Son, your sins are forgiven you. And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts. Why does this man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone? But immediately, when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them why do you reason about these things in your hearts So what the miracle here you may ask Actually there a great miracle that we read of in this chapter about four men bringing a paralytic to Jesus And Jesus seeing their faith, is forgiving the sins of the paralytic and also healing him. I'm not going to talk about that miracle, but here is another miracle that we read of here. Jesus can know the thoughts of our hearts also. That's also a great miracle, isn't it? Jesus during those days when he used to meet several people he knew what they were thinking in their hearts and here when Jesus said to the paralytic son your sins are forgiven the scribes who were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts so whatever goes on in our hearts is also known by God why does this man speak blasphemies like this no one can forgive sins but God alone but Jesus immediately perceived in his spirit that they reasoned thus and then he says to them, why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier to say to the paralytic, your sins are forgiven you or to say arise take up your bed and walk And then Jesus healed the paralytic But here I I speaking about God knowing the thoughts of our hearts and not only that when we read Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 12 the Bible says for the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any tweed sword piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. When you go to church and the preachers preach to you, they are speaking the word of God to you, but have you ever thought about the word of God discerning the thoughts of your heart? That is such a powerful miracle, isn't it? The word of God has so much of power and here the writer of Hebrews, he says that it is living, powerful and sharper than any double-edged sword. What does it do? It is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And as we read in Mark chapter 2, Jesus discerned the thoughts of the people who were thinking against him Praise the Lord It not only about the bad things that the word of God discerns All the grief that we are going through all the pain that we are going through and when we go to church, we see the preacher speaking to us. It is God himself speaking to us through the word and the word it discerns our pain, our griefs, our sorrows and if you are doing wrong things in our life, it discerns that also and the words come tumbling out. it's a great miracle so even if you don't speak God knows the thoughts of our hearts and the word of God it discerns the thoughts and intents of our hearts may God bless you with these thoughts this day praise the Lord Thank you.
