Greetings Classic Cinema and TV fans, this is Jason Lockhart here with you once again bringing you another Silver Screen Spotlight. And today we are looking at a brand new release from the good folks at Film Chest Media Group. Now this is just a first look before we dive in and then we bring you a full written review on Classic Cinema Plus. But this is just kind of an interesting one. Now, back in the day, there was a lot of popularity with what was called film noirs. And film noirs dealt with private investigators and different things. And you would have the guys with the fedoras and the private investigators that were real tough and tough as nails and searching out things and all. And during that time, one of the most popular was Mickey Spillane's character, Mike Hammer. He had a lot of different things in his repertoire, you know, different stories and really cool stuff. And he's been played by many, many different actors over the years. But probably the one that most people think about when they think of Mickey Spillane Mike Hammer they probably think of Stacey Keech right In the late 90s Stacey Keech went to TV with this character Mickey Spillane Mike Hammer, Private Eye. Now, the interesting thing is, look at this, brand new from Film Chest Media Group, the complete TV series of Mike Hammer, Private Eye. Now, of course, this did not last long, sadly. It was only lasted 26 episodes, but what an interesting little show. I love this, first off, that there is a really, if you can see it, there is a real shine to the outer cover there. Look on the inside, it's the same artwork, of course, but it is pretty cool, 26 episodes. Mike Hammer, in this version, it's taking place in the 90s, and of course, but he's got that old-style 50s feel, because he's still running around with the fedora and the cigarette and all that type of stuff, just like always, you know. like the character from way back in the day You can even see him here where he even dressed to the nines just like always Pretty cool So in the booklet they got all of the synopsis of all the episodes from season one and season two, which lasted a total of 26 episodes. Pretty cool. The DVDs are like that. You got your two, three, four, five, five disc set. I like that they're different color trends for each disc. That's kind of different. I like that. I like the fact that they're all different colors. That's pretty cool. Yeah, this is really interesting. Now, I have not seen the entire series of my camera. I've seen a little bit of them, but not all of them. So this is going to be very, very cool to see Mike Hammer, the complete series on DVD, uh, and kind of relive them. And, uh, some of the ones that I have seen and, and those that I haven't, uh, be able to, uh, check out. And, uh, always loved, uh, Stacey Keats. I always thought he was really great. Probably one of the best versions of Mike Hammer, at least in my opinion. I, I, I like Stacey Keats' version, uh, and, and take on my camera. It's, uh, you got that real tough man, uh, persona, but, uh, um, but still uh pretty interesting Uh so this is uh yeah this is just a quick little first look at the uh the box and what it looks like and and how good it is and whatever and we we go deep diving into it and give you all the details of how good it looks in the full written review coming up very very soon but this is just like i said just a little first look at uh the new release mickey spillane's mike Hammer Private Eye Complete series from 97 and 98 All 26 episodes, 2 seasons There you go. Just kind of a quick look.
