Transcript: Christian Movie Reviews: Italian & Asian Cinema Blu-rays

Greetings, classic cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lockhart here with you once again bringing you another silver screen spotlight. And the good folks at MVD have sent us a pretty nice big huge amount of stuff here to just check out and we want to share it with you and maybe you're a fan of foreign films and all these are foreign films and we're going to jump into it and kind of give you a look at it and see what it looks like. First off, we have an Italian film that is kind of interesting. This is Convoy Busters. Okay, so this one is, this is basically what it says. After brandishing a gun and badge too many times in front of powerful people, Maurizio Murley is busted down from homicide to emergency squad. Despite his demotion, he is not content with letting Rome's criminal element run rampant, and his violent nature soon finds him the target of both the press and the local mob. Really kind of sounds interesting. I love it that this also has – you get the Italian soundtrack, but you also get the English dub, which I love. I love English dubs. Just that to me makes the film so much better when you have an English dub. I love that. You get so much bonus features. We're not going to go through all these, but just take a look at all those bonus features. You can see there is just a ton of stuff. This film is released by Cauldron. And love this artwork here. This artwork is pretty awesome right there. Love that artwork. But in addition to that, you get reversible artwork. And this one is just as cool. actually I actually think I like that one a little bit better yeah see because you got that or you got that version and they're both so cool but I don't know I think I like that one a little bit better but this is a really really cool release looking forward to check that out and yeah maybe you're a fan of the Italian cinema yeah Convoy Busters probably one you going to want to check out Definitely cool Then we go to Asian cinema Okay This one is one that is really interesting This one is called My Missing Valentine. Okay. Kind of unique, kind of interesting. So this is what it says. Yang has always been fast, but when she wakes up the day after Valentine's Day, she does everything in her power to figure out how it mysteriously passed her by. So that's interesting. Hmm. Interesting film. I don't – just a lot of mystery there. with this release. I don't know. That's going to be kind of interesting. Disc is the same artwork as the front cover. Okay. This looks to have English subtitle or English dubbing as well. So that's pretty cool. Yeah. So my missing Valentine. That's pretty awesome. All right. All right. Up next, this is Shanghai Joe. Now this seems this is Asian, but it's also Italian. This is from Cauldron Films, the ones that brought us Convoy Busters. But this is also an Italian film, but it has an Asian actor in it. This is a Chin Hao arrives in America looking for a better life only to be faced by locals who don't take kindly to outsiders. Interesting. Um, cauldron has given us a whole bunch of bonus features there as we, well, as you can see, uh, so filled with awesome stuff there, uh, interviews and all kinds of stuff, um, commentaries and everything. But, uh, this comes with, uh, the English or the, um, Italian mono, uh, audio track, but also an English dub as well. So that's pretty awesome. Film from 1973, Shanghai Joe, now on Blu-ray. Very, very cool. All right, then we left the two major ones for the main event, if you will. Who didn't love Jackie Chan, right? Jackie Chan is pretty cool. This is brand new on 4K, and this is an epic release. You get standard Blu-ray and Ultra HD as well in this. This is Police Story 3 Super Cop. And this also stars Michelle Yeoh. Now interestingly enough I love this artwork here This is pretty epic looking artwork there That is pretty cool Inside cover of the actual Ultra HD case is like this So that pretty cool You get, we're not going to take them all out, but you get like cards that have all kinds of like stills of that. That's pretty awesome. Blu-ray and Ultra HD discs. Okay. And then something very, very cool. Booklet filled with all kinds of material. Can't go through everything. It's just too much. But anyway, just filled with awesome stuff. And then something that I love that is included here is poster. All right. And this is a pretty big poster too. It's a two-sided poster. So you get this. We'll try to keep that in the frame as much as we can. That side. And then there is that side. So two-sided poster. Very, very cool. So this, of course, is the story of Supercop. And this is a third installment because it's Police Story 3. Chan reprises his role as Maverick Detective, who is recruited by Interpol to infiltrate the operations of a drug lord. So pretty interesting. Yeah, I am looking forward to checking that out and seeing Jackie Chan because I love Jackie Chan. So that's pretty, pretty cool. All right. And then finally, we have this one. Now, this is the big box set here. This is in the line of duty one through four. Again, you will see something very interesting between these two maybe if you look real close. Okay. Maybe you're seeing it, maybe you're not. But anyway, it is Michelle Yeoh. Okay? She is the star of this series, this film series. Very, very cool. Okay, so this is four classic police stories from the golden age of Hong Kong action where women kick as hard as any man. Okay, so that's interesting. um tons of bonus features i mean tons of bonus features there you go you can see all those right there pretty impressive amount of stuff um that's pretty cool uh again uh here uh you get a tremendous booklet filled with material just all kinds of stuff very awesome uh inside uh the um the discs are like so There is Royal Warriors Love the artwork. It's pretty cool. This one is Yes, Madame. Okay. Very awesome. This one is in the line of Duty 3. Okay. And then, of course, in the line of duty, four. Okay. Here we have two two-sided posters. Okay. This is Royal Warriors. All right. If we can get it in there, in the frame. Okay. And there's that. Pretty nice looking posters, actually. Very cool. And then there is this one as well. You can unfold it. This is the Blu-ray poster in the line of duty one through four. And then the poster for Yes, Madame. There you go. So, yeah, pretty interesting. So, yeah, this one is a pretty epic set, if you ask me. This is pretty impressive. This is from 88 Films, and of course, 88 Films always goes above and beyond with their releases. I mean, they really put the work in, and this one is another one that is just literally spectacular. So, yeah, so there you go. If you're a fan of Asian cinema in line of duty one through four or Supercop Police Story 3, yeah. Or maybe you would like to get Shanghai Joe, My Missing Valentine, or maybe you just want a little bit of Italian cinema. Well, then Convoy Busters. There you go.
