I want to share with you something today that's a little different in comparison to normal messages. This is a question that came before me and it made me really think. And I'm going to give you the question in a little bit at the end of the message And when I do the question, I want you to really think hard about this But we're going to have a couple verses as our key verse today as we look forward And it is from Ephesians chapter 3, 20 and 21 So if you would like to follow along, you can do so, Ephesians 3, 20 and 21 You know, when I think about God and I think about Jesus, I think about people. When Jesus walked the world, walked this earth, people had lots of needs. And we still do. Even in this generation, people have needs. When Jesus walked the world, people were needing healing. people needed to have their bellies filled because they were hungry they needed their sin sick souls saved now we fast forward to 2023 and I look at people and I say you know what people need healing people need their hungry bellies filled and they need their sin sick souls saved nothing has changed what it comes down to is people need Jesus, nothing has changed whenever there was someone that had a need and they heard Jesus was coming into the town these people knew where to go to get the needs met I remember three accounts that I want to share with you before we get to the Word today. It's simple ones, but there was the need of hungry bellies to be filled. A multitude had come to hear Jesus teach. And when Jesus had finished His message to the people, He knew it was getting time to eat, and His disciples said to Him, God, Jesus, you need to send the people away and let them go and get something to eat. And he said, why don't we feed him? And the disciples said, well, we can't feed him. We ain't got no money. And he said, but what do you have? What's around? And they looked around and they found a little boy that had a simple little lunch. It said five loaves and two fish. Now, when you look at that, in this generation, we see this. We think loaves as in like a loaf of bread. But that's not what that meant. You go to the original and you really understand what it means. It's like an unleavened piece of bread or like a cracker. So he had five little crackers and he had two fish. Now these aren't like trout or flounder or whiting big piece. We're talking like two little sardines. okay he said this is all we have lord and jesus said that's enough why because little is much when god is in it amen that's the point see and it's interesting jesus prayed over the meal and then he began to break the bread and the fish and they began to distribute it out to all the people and everybody was filled and there was so much left over so that even more could be blessed and even more could be filled. I think of another woman, another little woman, a little lady that had cancer. You hear the term cancer and it just is a horrible thing. You hear cancer and it just, it scares you. This little lady had, it says an issue of blood, but that's what it is. It's like a form of cancer that she had in her body. She heard Jesus was in the town and she had gone everywhere. She tried every kind of healer, every kind of doctor, and nobody could help her. So she said, well, if Jesus is in town, maybe, just maybe, if I could just get close enough to him to just touch the hem of his garment, I could be made whole. I love what it says in Mark 5 28 and 29 when it says she said if I may touch but his clothes I shall remain whole and straight away the fountain of her blood was dried up the moment she touched him and his garment she was that blood was dried up that cancer was dried up and she fell in her body that she was healed of the plague And then there was a man A man named Bartimaeus Sitting on the wayside Begging Bartimaeus had been blind For a long time Basically almost from birth When he heard Jesus was coming through he began to cry out Jesus thou son of David have mercy upon me and everybody in the crowd would start telling him to shut up don be so loud quiet the master don want to hear your cries Somebody ever says to you the master doesn want to hear your cries don listen to him He does He wants to hear what's bothering you. He wants to hear what is concerning you. And they all said, quiet down. Don't speak so loud. Quiet down. And he cried even louder. because he was not going to be shut up. He was not going to be quieted down. He cried even louder. And Jesus heard his cries. And in Mark 10, 51 and 52, it says, Jesus said unto him, What wilt thou have that I should do unto thee? And the blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way, thy faith is making old. and immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. See, we all have needs. We all have needs, whether they're financial needs or spiritual needs or physical needs or whatever the case may be, God knows we have needs. And all he wants to do is hear us say, help me, Lord. God is able. God is able. I'll say it one more time. God is able. Ephesians 3.20, it says, Now unto him who is able to do, exceeding abundantly above all that we ask for thank. He is able. I love that. Unto him who is able to do, and I love these words, exceeding abundantly above. Wow. Now you want a blessing, that's a blessing. Because this is the point. God will do what we have need of. God will do exceeding abundantly above what we need. I look back to that multitude that sat and listened to Jesus teach. 500 men, their wives, and all their children were there. And what did Jesus do? Jesus took five loaves and two fishes and fed the multitude and then had more to take to other people to bless somebody else. That right there, people, is exceeding abundantly above. We sit and we say, well, I've got a trouble. I've got something in my life. What am I going to do? God is saying, I can do exceeding abundantly above. If you'll just ask me. That's what God is saying today. You've got a need, call on me. I'll go exceeding abundantly above. You have a need, you need a physical touch? Ask me. I'll give you exceeding abundantly above. You have a physical or a financial problem? Ask me. I'll go exceeding abundantly above. I want my family saved. Trust in me. Believe in me. Believe that I will do it. I'll go exceeding abundantly above. I love those words. That right there. I want you to get nothing else today. I want you to get those words. That is what God is able to do. Exceeding abundantly above. Exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. That is what God is able to do. Now why can he do that? The old preacher said, because God owns the cattle on the thousand hills and all the potatoes in hills. I love it. The wealth of the world is at his disposal. We can have whatsoever we need if we'll just but ask. because he can go exceeding abundantly above. So this is what I'm saying today. If you get nothing else, write that down. Exceeding abundantly above. That is what God will do for you. That's what he can do for you. Now unto him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask for a thing according to the power that worketh within us. Now I want you to understand The power that worketh within us has nothing to do with us. The power that works within us has nothing to do with us. It's a blessing given to us by God. It's the power of God that works in us. It has nothing to do with us. It's just the fact that we are children of the King. and because we're children of the king he pours out that blessing of power upon us you know Satan comes in like a flood sometimes and says you know what this is trouble and you're not going to get over it and more often than not a Christian will sit there and they'll say you know what you're right I won't get over it I won't get over it and what has happened? Satan won a victory. We sit and we see members of our church and churches, they go through troubles, trials, tribulations, physical problems and we go sometimes and we go, wow, I don't know if this doesn't look too good. What do we do? We're letting Satan have a victory. That's what we're doing. When we sit and we say well you know what I don know thinking they be able to come out of this Well we giving Satan the victory We not allowing God to do exceeding abundantly above We're allowing Satan to get the victory. I'm not letting Satan have a victory. I refuse to let Satan have a victory. Satan has had too many victories in this world. It is time for the church world to stand up and say, no more. We are the church of the living God. We are victorious. And we will be blessed because God will go exceeding abundantly above. That's what we need to do. We need to start living that way. When we see somebody in our church having troubles, God's going to bring you through. Because he will go exceeding abundantly above. Our churches will be blessed because God is going to go exceeding abundantly above. Financial problems, God is going to be blessed because God will go exceeding abundantly above. That is what it's all about. Because of the power that works within us. We have the power in the name of Jesus. We have the power in the name of the Lord. those saken rages, we will not be defeated, because we have the power in the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I love it. Now unto him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh within us. Unto him, verse 21, be glory in the church. Hallelujah. I want you to read that. I want you to read that. Unto him be glory in the church. Hallelujah. That means the church world should have victory. If the church is not victorious, if we are not blessed, if we don't have the power, we can't blame it on God. We've got to point at us. because God is pouring it out. It's up to us to lift up our cup and say, Lord, fill it up. God will fill up our cup if we will lift it up. But more often than not, what we do is instead of turning our cup right side up, we turn our cup downward and then God can't fill it up. Fill my cup, Lord. I lift it up, Lord. Come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more. Fill my cup. Fill it up. And make me whole. That's what God will do if we will just lift it up. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus. And I want you to look even a step further at what it says. What does it say? Throughout all ages. Because so often what you'll hear is people say, oh well, that happened in Bible times. The Spirit of the Lord fell on Pentecost Sunday. But see, we can't have that now. I ask the question, why? What is the difference between Pentecost in Acts and us now? Now, I know what the difference is, of course, but what I'm saying is, what's the difference with God? Nothing. Nothing. Bible says Jesus is saying yesterday, today and how long? Forever. And what does it say here? Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages. That includes 2023. When we look at a world that has completely turned its back on God and we're doing secular things and secularism is coming into the church and we're seeing so much evil coming into the church and the very preachers that stand behind a pulpit, God's sacred desk and start to bring forth what is in the world into the church and we say, I don't know why the church is not blessed that is why the church is not I'm blessed because there's too many preachers that are not preaching the truth now. They're trying to make people feel good. I'm not here to make you feel good. I'm sorry. That's not what I'm here for. I'm here to warn you because time is running out. God is about to return. Jesus is about to split the eastern skies. He's about to come and he's about to say, now's the time, come home. And if we ain't ready, we ain't going. That's just the truth of it. And you think I'm going to stand up here and I'm going to sauce open and say, oh, God is love. God loves you. God does love you. But God also put in his word right here the way we should live. and if we don't live that way we ain going that not grammatically correct but that okay but it just true If we don live by the Bible we ain going If we don't live by the Bible, we can't be blessed. If we don't live by the Bible, our churches won't be blessed. If we don't live by the Bible, people won't be healed. If we don't live by the Bible, we're not going to see the blessing of God. Oh, but if we do, the glory will come into the church by Christ Jesus, even in 2023. And then I love what it says here in this word. It says, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages. What does it say? World without end. Clear up until the church is taken out. God is willing to pour the blessing upon the church. People can be healed. Lives can be changed. Souls can be saved. Churches can be built. Nothing is impossible when we put our trust in God, but we have got to put God first. That's what it comes down to. Alright. That's what it comes down to today, right? So I said I had a question today. Now I'm going to pose the question to you today. Imagine in your mind. Just imagine in your mind today. Those doors open up. and he in walks Jesus he walks down this aisle he stands right here at the front and he says the words that he said to Bartimaeus what wilt thou that I should do unto thee what would your response be what would your response be if God said to you today what do you want me to do for you what would your response be Lord pour down a multi-million dollar blessing in my bank account what would your response be I think my response would be Lord bless me that I might bless others just bless me so that I can have the joy of the Lord bless me you know I think of the prophet give me a double portion of the spirit right I think that would be my response Lord give me a double portion of the spirit I want so much of God upon me that when people look at me they don't see me they see literally Shekinah glory they don't look and see Pastor Jay they don't see Jason they don't see any of it they see Shekinah glory they see the blessing of God that is what they see but what would your response be? what would your response be? He's asking you today. That's the point. He may not be coming down the aisle, but today he's asking you, what would you have me do for you? He wants to help you in what your trials and tribulations are. He wants to bless you in all the things that you need. But it comes down to what Bartimaeus had to do. Look at what Bartimaeus had to do. Jesus knew what Bartimaeus needed. You think Jesus didn't understand Bartimaeus was blind? Of course Jesus knew Bartimaeus was blind. Everybody knew Bartimaeus was blind. but Jesus still said what would you have me do for you Jesus wanted him to what? ask in Matthew it says ask and ye shall receive seek and ye shall find and knock and it shall be open unto you Thank you. Thank you.
