Greetings, Classic Cinema TV fans. This is Jason Lockhart here with you once again bringing you another Flashback Friday. And today we are going back in time and looking at a classic cartoon. To me, there's nothing more amazing than going back and reliving my childhood, remembering those old classic cartoons from back in the day. I remember as a kid in the, you know, in the 80s and 90s watching these old cartoons. They're considered old now, but they weren't when I was watching them. But they were so cool, man. Watching, like, the real Ghostbusters, watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, You know, watching these old cartoons, Transformers and just all kinds of them, G.I. Joe, all kinds of them, He-Man, all kinds of these classic cartoons. It was just so amazing. And I still enjoy that. Every so often I'll grab one of the sets out and we'll put on a classic cartoon and kind of relive our childhood a little bit. And they still are amazing even in this day and age. So when a company releases a classic cartoon on physical media, it really excites me. And this is a brand new one, and I am so excited about it. It is from the good folks at VCI Entertainment and MVD Visual joining forces to bring us this Denver the Last Dinosaur Okay so Denver the Last Dinosaur was kind of amazing It had a, it followed a group of friends, multiracial friends, which was really cool back in the day. All different cultures and all different races and they're just, you know, friends, and they stumble upon a dinosaur egg, a big, huge dinosaur egg, and out pops a dinosaur. He's kind of like been, I guess, cryogenically sealed, I guess, in a way, and so when the egg cracks open, boom, out pops this dinosaur, and he's like a big puppy. I mean, he really is. He just, he's just, uh, they, they're, he's scared and then he's like, come here, come here, come here, boy. And, you know, like this. And, and he comes over and sniffs the hand just like a puppy would. And then to see if there's any danger. And then he starts licking them all. He's just excited, you know? And these, um, these, um, friends all decide they're going to take care of who they named Denver. Okay. Um, now the interesting thing, that's all well and fine, but there are, let's say, nefarious people that want to exploit Denver, you know, and make money, okay? So, it's up to the friends to protect Denver, and so Denver and the friends go on adventures, and they get into all kinds of trouble, and they have to get Denver out of the trouble, and it a really really fun little series right It really is Now I think the thing that really cool about this series is what MVD and VCI Entertainment has done They've taken all 50 episodes, including the hour-long pilot. It's considered an hour-long pilot, but it's actually about 46 minutes long because it would have been an hour on TV with commercials. But it's 46 minutes. Okay, but it's an event. The first episode is really an event, and it's pretty cool. They have took all 50 episodes, and they have spread them across not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, but six discs. Okay, actually, if you want to be totally honest about it, it's five discs, but the six discs is a bonus disc, but it's pretty cool. I love the colors. The colors are so spectacular. All the colors of the 80s. Really awesome. Yeah, it is pretty cool. Included is a little fold-out booklet that gives you every single episode of Denver, the Last Dinosaur included in this set. Pretty awesome. So the sixth disc actually includes interviews with the creators of Denver, The Last Dinosaur, an image gallery, and then a bunch of bonus cartoons featuring Superman, featuring Gabby and Popeye, an episode of Space Angel an episode of Saber Riders and the Star Sheriffs I mean just some amazing little bonus cartoons that just kind of make this even more of an amazing little collection It really is pretty awesome You can just see that Denver the Last Dinosaur really is a product of the 80s. You can just see it in the colors and everything. It is so, so cool. In watching these episodes, these interviews, there was talks of maybe a live action movie. You know, that would be really, really cool because we're seeing a lot of live action movies, you know, in this day and age of classic cartoons and games and stuff. So, hey, maybe someday down the line, you never know. That would be pretty cool. But until then, we have the complete series of Denver, The Last Dinosaur. dinosaur. So if you're a fan of 80s cartoons, definitely check this one out from VCI Entertainment and MVD Visual. This is really an amazing set. It really is. The episodes look really, really crisp and clean and good. You're going to love it. So yeah, definitely go check it out. Well, full written review, you can get that at Classic Cinema Plus and read the full written review and until we see you next time with another Flashback Friday this is Jason Locker reminding you that if you want to see a great film or a TV series something like this like a classic cartoon check out a classic we'll see you next time have a good one bye
