Music Music Many years ago, when I first read the scripture in Jeremiah, chapter 17, verse 9, which declares the human heart is deceitful, perverse, and corrupt, and mortally sick, I was very shocked. I felt convicted and began to examine my own heart's condition and set out on a mission to research the scripture for understanding and peace of mind. Let's read that in Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 9. The heart is deceitful above all things and is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely mortally sick. Who can know it, perceive and understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind? well you see this verse is like a loud and distinct trumpet saying that no one can possibly know the deception of their own corrupt heart a corrupt heart is the worst enemy that a fallen mankind being can have it is full of evil inclinations or tendencies known as folly and abominations such as hatred and outrage and jealousy and every other sin of the flesh. These are all unbeknowns to the individual of all that is within him or her until things begin to explode and boil over in situations that come up against them and try them. It is often beyond a solution for cure before evil is perceived from within. Therefore, one cannot trust in man whose purposes are continually changing and are ruled by motives of self-interest and selfishness. We see this big time in our world today, with crime, destruction, and purposeful intention to kill and maim people through vaccine inoculations in order to reduce the population of the earth. It has escalated into the point now to where 16 or 17 states in the United States of America this year of 2023 are taking the initiative to warn people to not have the newest and deadliest vaccine because it has proven to be harmful. Just recently, a Florida local news channel in Brevard County has called and made a list of those who have been involved with what they have said are guilty of treason and genocide of millions of people with the initial COVID vaccines. They have called these vaccines a biological weapon. The present governess of the United States have said that they will demand that every person in the United States will have this latest vaccine. Within our own government, we see chaos and defilement of the Constitution of the United States of America. The people who operate in evil against society are criminals, and who plan and carry out the wicked intentional plan to murder God's human creation are treasonous traitors of their own country, and the rule of law in America calls for the death of these despots. The title of our message today is called The Unregenerate Mind is Deceitful and Corrupted and Who Could Know It? You see, what we are talking about, dear listener, is sin. And sin goes deeper than the depth of our skin. Our main scripture again declares, The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked and who could know it? The word translated wicked in this verse means sick. Some Bible translations translate sick to mean beyond cure. We have a message called evil minded people cannot reason because they are demented. We have another message titled people will go mad or insane in the last day of prophecy. And another message called, Woe to those who call good evil and evil good. You can access these articles by going to our website at shininglight7ministries.com. That is numerical number 7. Again, shininglight7ministries.com. You see, dear listener, demented, according to Webster's Dictionary, means deranged or demented, and it means having a very abnormal or sick state of mind. And this is what we see in the world happening at warp speed in every nation with the takeover of our land in the United States of America. Our freedoms in religion, our freedoms in school curriculums, freedoms in our rights of speech, freedoms in our say in the vaccines that we choose to take, and overall, dear listener, freedoms of our overall rights as American citizens, according to the Constitution, are strategically stripped away by the unregenerate, sick, evil-minded people who serve Satan the devil. Yes, they serve Satan the devil. Yes, they know exactly what they are doing. You see, there are basically three underlying sins that drive the kind of greed and self-seeking motives of self-interest that drives and arouses these sick, demented despots. These are greed for money, greed for power, which includes authority, and greed for fame. The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 6, verse 10, which declares, For the love of money is a root of all evils. It is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute mental pangs Dear one sin is not a surface problem that can be solved with simple remedies like trying to cure cancer with some homemade remedy. Sin comes from within. In fact, it comes from fallen human nature caused by our first parents, Adam and Eve. You see, unless our hearts are changed, there can be no remedy of the sin problem and issues that make life absolutely miserable. Apostle Paul said in Romans chapter 7, For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, nothing good dwells. Those who talk about the innate goodness of man know neither their Bible nor their own hearts. It's just that simple. King David said in Psalms 51, verse 5, Behold, I was brought forth in a state of iniquity. My mother was sinful who conceived me, and I too am sinful. David was indicating that his mother, as all people since the fall in the garden, are now born into sin as they come into the world. when Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 9 says the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked who could know it this is God speaking through the prophet telling of the immediate issue of Judah's sinfulness in spite of all the blessings of God Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 1 declares Judah's sin is engraved with an iron tool inscribed with a flint point on the tablets of their heart and on the horns of their altars. And this is saying that their sin is inscribed on the tablets of their heart is similar to saying they are desperately wicked in verse 9. And the phrase desperately wicked comes from the King James Bible version. Some other translation using other wording such as beyond cure or desperately sick, which all pertain to basically speaking of analogy relating to terminal or incurable illnesses. And while this verse, in its context, speaks of the nation of Judah, that nation illustrates the human state and condition, which is true everywhere, for everyone, in every generation since. You see, total depravity would be a general term that could sum up all of these analogies. Look at what Romans chapter 1, verse 32 declares, beginning in verse 29. until they were filled, permeated, and saturated with every kind of unrighteousness, iniquity, grasping at covetous greed and malice. They were full of envy and jealousy, murder, strife, deceit, and treachery, ill will, and cruel ways. They were secret backsliders and gossipers. Verse 30, slanderers, hateful to and hating God, full of insolence. arrogance, and boasting, inventors of new forms of evil, disobedient and undutiful to parents. They were without understanding, consciousless, faithless, heartless, and loveless and merciless. Verse 32. Though they were fully aware of God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them themselves, but approve and applaud others who practice them. Wow. Wow. We also see that we need to consider Romans chapter 3, beginning in verse 9, which tells us along these same lines. Well then, are we Jews superior and better off than they? No, not at all. We have already charged that men, both Jews and Greeks, Gentiles, are under sin, held down by, and subject to its power and control. Verse 10. As it is written, none is righteous, just, and truthful, and upright, and conscientious. No, not one. No one understands, intelligently discerns, or comprehends. No one seeks out God. All have turned aside. Together they have gone wrong, and have become unprofitable and worthless. No one does right, not even one. Verse 13. Their throat is like a yawning grave. They use their tongues to deceive, to mislead, and to deal treacherously. The venom of their asp is beneath their lips. Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. Verse 16. Destruction as it dashes them to pieces, and misery marked their ways, and they have no experience of the way of peace. They know nothing about peace. For a peaceful way they do not even recognize. There is no reverential fear of God before their eyes. Please understand, dear listener, not every person will commit all of the sins that we have just read. today total depravity does not mean that every person is as disastrous or ruinous as he or she can be but it does mean that every person is completely consumed by sin and is saying there is no hope of turning around or getting better on their own because they do not consider and include Almighty God in their ways and their plans. They have not come to know the only one who can save them and cure them of all of these sins that are heavy burdens in their lives and eventually take them right in to the lake of fire called hell. Understand please, we are desperately wicked according to Romans chapter 8 verse 8 which declares those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Can I tell you that if one cannot please God there is absolutely no salvation? All people who cannot please God are on the wide road to destruction and are headed to hell unless they turn to God's own Son, Jesus Christ who is the door and the way to eternal life. Only Jesus Christ can save a person from going to hell In the flash here refers to the carnal or fleshly thinking of a person who has not been regenerated supernaturally by precious Holy Spirit This illness, we are told, is terminal and incurable, so much so that Paul describes the unregenerate people as dead in their sins in both his epistles in Ephesians and Colossians. The only hope for the sinful heart is to be supernaturally changed. And God saw to it and planned long ago when he spoke through his prophet in Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 33. God gives the solution. Where sin was once written on the hearts of his people, God provides a new dedication and remedy in verse 33 which declares For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days declares the Lord I will put my law within them and I will write it upon their hearts I will be their God and they shall be my people Jesus came to ordain a new covenant so that sins could be forgiven and sinners could be born again and recreated in the image and likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. In John chapter 3 verses 5 and 6, Jesus declared, I assure you most solemnly, I tell you, unless a man is born of water, even the Spirit, he cannot ever enter into the kingdom of God. Verse 6, what is born of from flesh is flesh, of the physical is physical, and what is born of the spirit is spirit. You see, desperately wicked people cannot improve or rehabilitate their own hearts by or on their own efforts. And that is just the way it is. It will not happen. The only solution, dear church, is for God to make our hearts new and wash them clean from sin and radically and supernaturally recreate them in his image and make them willing to please him in all matters of our Christian life and growth. You see, we need to understand that all thoughts begin in the mind. Yes, every thought begins in the mind. And this is why we need to learn as believers to grab a hold of every evil, impure thought and take it captive so it does not take root in our lives and act itself out in sinful pleasures or evil ways. Paul describes how the mind of flesh is hostile to God and his ways. Look at that with me, please, in Romans chapter 8 beginning in verse 6. Now the mind of flesh, which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit, is death. Death that comprises of all miseries arising from sin both here and hereafter. But the mind of the Holy Spirit is life and soul, peace both now and forever. Verse 7, that is because the mind of flesh, with its carnal thoughts and purposes, is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's laws. Indeed, it cannot. So then those who are living the life of flesh, catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature, cannot please or satisfy God or be acceptable to him. our main verse here is verse 6 you see man has the ability to think Romans 8 6 is using the New King James Version it says for to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace you see man differs from animals in that he can observe, he can think he can arrive at logical conclusions He is gifted by God, who is his creator, and is given understanding. And the New Testament speaks of the mind as the intellectual principle in man. There are many people who are gifted with intellectual minds, but there are also many who do not know God or even care to know him. Many times it is difficult for those with great minds to come to the Lord Jesus Christ because of pride. The understanding of unbelievers is corrupt, and this is not what God meant it to be. Romans chapter 1 verse 28 declares, And so since they did not seem fit to acknowledge God or to approve of him or consider him worth the knowing, God gave them over to base and condemned mind and to do things not proper or decent but loathsome. The unbeliever has a mindset that is evil. His thought processes are concentrated on the flesh and the gratification of his animalistic instincts. But the mind of the Holy Spirit, which dwells in the genuine believer, produces life and peace both now and forevermore. Remember, the mind of the unregenerate or unsaved person is hostile to God. So we see here that there are really two mindsets that are possible. The first being the mindset of unbelievers. Unbelievers are men and women who have corrupt minds and are utterly corrupt or depraved in their minds, who also resist the truth and are unapproved by God in their faith. Now just as James and Jambres were hostile to and resisted Moses, so these men are hostile to and oppose the truth. They have depraved and distorted minds and are reprobate and counterfeit and to be rejected as far as the faith is concerned. You see, this mindset that we have been looking about in Romans 8, verse 6 is called the mind of the flesh. It is called that because the flesh and its gratifications of sinful pleasures are what guide the thinking of unbelievers. In Romans chapter 8 verse 5, Paul states that those who are after according to the flesh do think constantly the things of the flesh This is their mindset And this mindset is contrary to those who are after or according to the Spirit The sanctified Spirit in their new character is being affected and shaped by the Holy Spirit of God, who is working life and truth in their lives according to the word of God. This brings the change to their unregenerate mind and soul, which was hostile to God. Now, looking at the second mindset of believers, we see it is found in Romans chapter 7, verse 23, where Paul spoke of the law in his body warring against the law in his mind. Verse 23 declares, I discern in my bodily members, in the sensitive appetite and wills of the flesh, a different law, a rule of action at war against the law of my mind, my reason, and making me a prisoner to the law of sin that dwells in my bodily organs, in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh. And also in Ephesians chapter 4, Verses 22 and 23, where he spoke of the mind of the believer needing renewal. Verse 22, strip yourselves of your former nature, put off and discard your old unrenewed self, which characterizes your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusions. 23. And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind, having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude. In verse 23, we see where Paul spoke of the spiritual person as having a mind constantly renewed in contrast to the natural or carnal-natured man who deceives himself or herself that they are doing just fine, thank you. They have deceived themselves, in other words. And we saw where there was a war going on in the mind with these last two verses which are applicable to the unregenerate battle within the soul. And we have seen in previous scriptures that even a proud, unhumbled Pharisee can display what looks like a true spiritual person, but the one who truly loves God is humbled under a sense of sin in his life or her life and hates it he sees the light of truth and is truly being changed and made in the image of the one whom his soul loves and that is Jesus Christ who died personally for them this becomes a true reality within dear ones now there is the fruit of the mindset of the flesh. And the fruit of the mindset of the flesh is death. Death here means spiritual death or permanent separation from God. He who constantly thinks of satisfying the flesh and now how to gratify its desires is definitely separated from God. You see, death is opposite in contrast to life and peace found only in those who have the fruit of the spirit mindset. The spirit is the believer's spirit, which is redeemed by Christ, who frees the sinner from the desires and magnitude of the law of sin. Dear listener, life is eternal. The life of God, which Christ imparts into the believer through the power of the Holy Spirit is everlasting life. This is supernatural. It is a work by the Holy Spirit in all who once had deceitful and corrupt evil minds but are now constantly being renewed by precious Holy Spirit in their lives. Jesus tells us in John chapter 10 verses 10 and 11. The thief comes in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to the full till it overflows. Verse 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd risks and lays down his own life for the sheep. You see, peace is the tranquility and the serenity that Jesus Christ brings to the heart of the believer. who seeks to please God in his spirit. And this means that the genuine believer in Jesus has had his sinful flesh and mind under control by the Holy Spirit of God and lives in the promise of peace and power in his spirit. John chapter 14, beginning in verse 27, declares, Peace, I leave you. My own peace I now give and bequeath to you, Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed, and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled. Verse 28, You heard me tell you, I am going away, and I am coming back to you. If you really love me, you would have been glad, because I am going to my Father, for my Father is greater and mightier than I am. Verse 29, And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does take place, you may believe and have faith and rely on me. Finishing this word today, we must be alert and aware of the many distractions of Satan the devil to be constantly targeting our minds with fear, with perversion, and doubt and sins of every kind. Only constant renewal of our minds by precious Holy Spirit will guard and keep us in God's protection, in His will, and give us discernment, and keep us in the view of His vision as the apple of His eye. Grow in faith, dear listener, and above all, in your quest to know the One who died for you and is very jealous over your soul and loves you very much.
