Transcript: Christian Movie Reviews: New Mill Creek Blu-rays November 2023

Greetings, classic cinema and TV fans. Jason here with you once again, bringing you another silver screen spotlight. And yeah, today we are talking about three brand new releases from the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment. And yeah, you're going to like these. There's a little something for everyone. So what are they? Well, let's jump into this. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. All right, first off, there is a very polarizing figure. Some people love him. Some people maybe not so much. But nonetheless, he is a very polarizing figure. And it is Phil Robertson. He is from the TV series from A&E entitled Duck Dynasty. Many people really enjoyed that series. but he's had some things that he has said that have, I guess, rubbed people the wrong way in a lot of ways. And yeah, so maybe you love him, maybe you hate him, I don't know. But interestingly enough, they've done a story about his life, and it's really interesting. This is entitled The Blind. Now, this film is really just brand new. It's actually, as we're recording this, just in theaters and became one of the highest grossing films for phantom events in history. but this is the brand new physical media release, the Blu-ray of The Blind. Now, The Blind is long before Phil Robertson became the reality star. He fell in love with Miss Kate and started a family, but his demons threatened to tear their lives apart. Set in the backwood swamps of 1960s Louisiana, uh, the blind shares the never before revealed moments of Phil's life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place. Uh, so really, uh very interesting film Um there is deleted scenes and and the story of the blind from the people who lived it A little featurette there Pretty cool release actually Slip cover, same artwork on the inside. There is your Blu-ray disc. We've actually checked this out and have already reviewed this one on Classic Cinema Plus. really an interesting story. A story of redemption, transformation, and yeah, and there's a lot of heart to this story. So yeah, if you like those romantic films, films about struggles and how someone overcomes struggles, yeah, The Blind is probably going to be one you're going to want to check out. So yeah, from Mill Creek Entertainment, The Blind on Blu-ray also is available on DVD as well if you would prefer that. So yeah, go check out the full written review of The Blind. It's really a pretty interesting little film, and yeah, we give it our seal of approval. It's pretty good. There is some good story there. So very well shot, very well written, and very well acted. So yeah, go check that one out. All right. Secondly, this is for Ultraman fans. Back with another one. Here we go. This is Ultraman 7. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, the 55th anniversary of Ultraman the Anthology. featuring 27 hours of Ultraman goodies from Ultraman 7, The Return of Ultraman, Ultraman Ace, Ultraman Taro, Ultraman Leo, Ultraman 80s, Ultraman Kids, Ultraman Neos, Ultraman Amoebas, Ultraman 7, or Ultra 7X, I should say, and Ultraman Jenga, Ultraman Zero, and Ultraman Orb, as well as more. Interesting. There's a lot of stuff here. A powerful fighter who defends Earth from invasion. His legacy is more than a warrior, but also as a friend, a protector of justice Very interesting All right So you got your slipcover Beautiful slipcover Good night A beautiful slipcover I love the way that Mill Creek has been doing the Ultraman releases They really cool Got your slip cover then you got your really awesome artwork on the inside I mean look at that That is just epic That is really cool Interesting Alright, also, and then when you look inside, you got not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, but six Blu-rays featuring all kinds of Ultraman releases, different episodes that deal with Ultraman 7. And that's for the 55th anniversary. Booklet on the inside gives you all the information about this release and the different episodes. And what's all included. And their synopsis and all that type of good stuff. All there in the little booklet. Love that. So yeah, if you love Ultraman, this has got a little bit of something for every. No matter what you love. No matter what is your favorite. It's got a little bit of everything. So that's pretty cool. I like the idea that it's got some Ultraman kids in there, the cartoon. That's pretty cool as well. So, yeah, a little bit of everything. Clear from the 60s all the way up to the now. That's pretty awesome. So 27 and a half hours of Ultraman goodness right there. Pretty awesome. All right. And then finally, we're in November as we're recording this. And you know what? It's time for the holiday season. Yeah, we've finished up Halloween, so we got Thanksgiving on the way. And, you know, it's never too early to start feeling holiday and feeling Christmassy or whatever you celebrate. It doesn't hurt to start getting in the spirit, right? Well, Mill Creek Entertainment has released this one. This is an angelic Christmas. Interesting. So let me, there we go, see if I can get it. There we go, there it is. An angelic Christmas. Pretty interesting. All right, so let's tell you what it is. This is a divine appointment between a young girl who has recently lost her father in the war a quirky angel who is on a special assignment trying to earn her wings and a bitter old woman who has suffered great personal loss brings healing forgiveness, and the true meaning of Christmas back to the town that has long forgotten what Christmas is truly all about. Pretty interesting. Sounds really cool. Now, I've checked out the trailer. I haven't watched this yet. So we're not quite ready to watch our Christmas releases yet, but we're getting there. This will probably be the first one we watch as we kick off our Christmas season around here at Classic Cinema Plus Studios. But yeah, Miracle Comes in Small Packages. That sounds pretty cool. And you know what I love about this is, this is not a real long film either. Uh, sometimes, uh, sometimes Christmas movies, uh, are really lengthy and they can feel really, really too lengthy. Uh, this is only an hour and 11 minutes. So that's a really good. That's a real good length. Uh, I think. Uh, so there you go. An angelic Christmas sounds pretty cool. Yeah. I'm looking forward to checking that one out.
