Transcript: Keanu Reeves in Babes in Toyland: A Christian Perspective

Greetings, Classic Cinema TV fans. This is Jason back with you once again, bringing you another first look video here on Classic Cinema Plus. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. We would appreciate it. And let's jump into this. As we are now in past Thanksgiving and we're now in full swing of the holiday season, we're talking about some holiday films. And this one we're talking about is brand new from Kino Lorber Studio Classics from MGM. And this is pretty awesome. This is Babes in Toyland. Look at that. That is so cool. We're talking about Keanu Reeves. We're talking about Drew Barrymore, Richard Mulligan, and of course, the sensei, Pamarita. Love that. Oh, that is so cool. Yeah, this is interesting because I've seen a lot of different babes in Toyland movies throughout my life, but I have never seen this version. I've heard about it, but I've never actually seen it. So when Kino Lorber was saying, oh, we are, got some interesting news. We're releasing Babes in Toyland with Keanu Reeves. I was like, oh my goodness, you've got to be kidding me. That is pretty cool. Because I a big Keanu Reeves fan I love the Bill and Ted Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey When I was growing up I watched those films so many times I probably could have quoted most of them both of them Because I watched them every time they were on television. Every time they came on television, I was watching it, right? I love those films. and so I really have a real respect for Keanu Reeves. I love that. I just think he's really an amazing guy and an amazing actor. Really is. So when this was talked about being released, I was like, that has got to be on our list. That has got to be on our list to check out. So yeah, this is pretty cool. Just real quick, Enter the magical musical world of Toyland in this heartwarming holiday classic starring Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves. Once a bright and cheerful community, Toyland is in great danger from the terrible Barnaby and his scary creatures who live in the forest of the night. The only person who can save Toyland is Lisa, a little girl from Chicago who lands in Toyland on Christmas Eve. Very cool. Yeah, I'm looking forward to this. This is so cool. King of Lorber Studio Classics of course have given us the classic black and white disc Love that Kind of sets them apart love that And yeah love that cover art That cover art is really cool, look at that. That is pretty cool, love that. Very, very classy. Pretty awesome, love that. Yeah, in addition to this film, you get the theatrical trailer, but even more so than just the film, you get two versions of the film. You get both the full screen version and the widescreen version. So if you watch this on TV and you kind of saw it in the full screen format, you have that. Or if you would like to see it cinematically in widescreen format, you got that. That is a really cool bonus that Kina Lorber did there. I really think that's pretty cool. So, yeah, I will be watching it in widescreen because I never saw it on full screen. So I'm going to watch it cinematically. Pretty cool. The film was released in 1986, and it runs for 96 minutes. Pretty awesome. Yeah, I'm looking forward to checking this one out. Yeah, that is pretty awesome. Drew Barrymore of course E Keanu Reeves Bill and Ted of course and Richard Mulligan known for probably for most TV fans for playing Dr Harry Weston in Empty Nest And of course who doesn know Pat Morita Come on That is so cool I love it I love it So this is just kind of a first look at the new release for the holiday season, Babes in Toyland.
