Transcript: Becoming a Lighthouse for Jesus in a Broken World

[0:00] Welcome to this Bible study on living with courage and joy in a broken world. As followers of Jesus, we're called to be lighthouses, shining our light for Him in the midst of trials and hardship. [1:30] In Matthew 5:16, Jesus teaches us that our good deeds should be done in secret, so that our Father in heaven may see them and reward us. This reminds us that our motivation for serving others should be to please God, not to seek human praise. [3:45] In Luke 6:22-23, Jesus warns us that we may face rejection and hardship for following Him, but He promises that our reward will be great in heaven. This encourages us to persevere in our faith, even when the world around us seems to be against us.
