Greetings to you in the name of Jesus. It is an honor and a privilege to be back here at the Harvest Festival 2026 and preach about Jesus. Thank God for this college, for the administrators, for the staff, for the students, for giving me this opportunity to stand here and share the word of God with you. I want to give God's praise for all these people. Those who have given me this opportunity, that I will take you from your children. bringing us here safely in the midst of all that's going on around the world. For the past few days, we've been hearing from mighty men of God. It was a blessing in my life. And I want to take some time to share with you what God has placed in my heart this morning. As I was traveling here, you know, with all the uncertainties that are happening around the world, we weren't sure if we were going to make it or not. And so during this time, this message came to me. I want to talk to you about the life of peace that we can live. The world is in chaos all around us. Unless you've been living in a cave or under a rock, you know what is happening in this world. Even if there was nothing happening around the world, we still have problems in our personal lives. So it's not the war in Ukraine or the conflict in the Middle East, but we personally, internally have also problems. I want to talk to you about how we can live a life of peace. It doesn't matter if it's external conflict or internal conflict. So I want to start off with the verse. Isaiah chapter 26 verse 3. And if someone can read that loud. You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you. because He trusts in you. You will keep Him in peace. Who is going to keep you in perfect peace? It is the Lord Almighty who gives you the perfect peace. And who does He give this perfect peace to? He gives it to the person whose mind is on the Lord. whose heart is on the Lord. And he trusts in God. The one who does not trust in anything else, who does not trust in the armies, who does not trust in the military, he trusts in the Lord. He gets the true perfect peace. I want to talk to you about the Prince of Peace that we all have but that we all know personally. The world may be in chaos but we know the Prince of Peace personally. The name Prince of Peace is attributed to Jesus. It's one of the many names given to Jesus in the New Testament. When Jesus came to this earth, when He was born in this earth in Bethlehem, there was a special event happened in Bethlehem. There was a horde of angels who appeared to a group of shepherds in a field. Do you remember what they told the shepherds? We sing these songs during Christmas time. The word that came to the shepherds in that field, it says, Glory to God in the highest. And on earth peace. Goodwill toward men. That is the word that came to shepherds. The first thing that came to a person when Jesus was born. After He was born. Peace on earth. The word peace has different meanings. It can mean that you are reconciled with someone. That you become in agreement with someone. Or that you have an absence of hostility. When two people are fighting, two countries are fighting there, everybody tries to get peace between those two fighting parties. That is the meaning for the word peace. Few of those meanings. There's also another word in Hebrew that we might know. Do you know what that is? Shalom. That's right. That is probably the only word in Hebrew that I can say perfectly without damaging it. Shalom. Can we all say the Hebrew? Let's learn Hebrew today. Shalom. Say it. And shalom to you. When we went to Israel three years ago, this was before all the problems started. I mean, there's always problems there. And one thing that kind of stuck out to me is that everywhere you go and everyone who you talk to, what they say to you, instead of saying hello, what they say is shalom. When you meet with someone, they say shalom. When you leave, they say shalom. Whatever that is, any sort of greeting, all those greetings kind of encampses in that one word, shalom. This is probably the only country in the world where the word peace or shalom is said so much. The irony of it is that is the only country in the world that does not have peace externally. But inside the country everybody says shalom. Shalom is peace be with you. It also means being made whole or being safe. But the best meaning of that word shalom is a life that you can live the best. And the most important thing that you can live the best is a life that you can live. So shalom can be live a life of shalom. When we look at that greeting that the angels gave to those shepherds, Peace on earth When you say peace on earth It means there will be peace in all the earth But the meaning of that greeting Is not peace on earth But it says on earth There will be peace A peace on earth is different from the idea of On earth there will be peace God did not promise that there will be peace on earth There has never been peace on earth since the fall of man at least the peace on earth is not happening in this time period in this situation but there is a time coming during Jesus' reign but that there will be peace on earth but the angels promise was that Jesus would bring on earth that there will be people of peace in the midst of turmoil. What Jesus would bring on earth is that there will be people who follow him that bring peace in the time of turmoil. What does that mean to us Whatever difficulties strife problems turmoils challenges that you are facing God promises you peace. God is offering you peace. He's not necessarily saying that He will take all of your problems away. But what He is offering is that in the midst of troubles and sufferings, that you who are highly favored of God, that you who serve God, that you who follow God, you are going to be a person of peace in the midst of turmoil one of the greatest witnesses that you can be as a child of God is being an agent of peace wherever you are Amen the reality is that whatever is stealing your peace It could be your circumstances Maybe it would be a fear of someone else It could be your thought process Fear of failure Fear of rejection All of those fears Whatever is trying to steal your peace understand this Jesus came to address that fear anxiety and worry in your life He wants to replace that fear anxiety and worry from your life and replace it with peace that only He can provide the Bible says that He is going to give peace that passes all understanding. We're going to talk more about that phrase beyond all understanding. But let me start with how does peace start inside of you? First of all, before we talk about what is peace, what is not peace? Peace is not having a good house. Peace is not having a good car. You don't get peace with having a large amount of money. You don't have peace. You don't just get peace with having a good relationship or a good marriage. Those are not how you get peace. You get peace by knowing God. And God will provide all of your needs. So peace begins with an individual. When we pray, when we listen to some people's prayer, when we hear someone praying, some people pray like they want peace in the world. Some of our prayers sound like we are the Secretary General of the United Nations. Lord, let there be peace on all the earth. Yes, but Jesus, I believe, cares more about individual peace, internal peace. Yes, the world needs to come to peace. But how many of you know that when peace comes into our heart, it also comes into our society and culture. When you start where you need to start Where you need to start Is with yourself First find that peace inside of you And then that peace will manifest itself in the society And there are three main ways That we can be affected by this peace that God provides First of all is that you and I can have peace with God. Romans chapter 5 verse 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. peace with God was brought when Jesus came down from heaven when he paid the price for our sins he died on the cross for us because our sin since Adam had separated us from Father God We all know this That when Jesus died on that cross He removed those sins from us Jesus paid the price for all of it And when we put our trust in Him We are forgiven And that sin is erased from us And we can have that sin Same relationship with God that Adam and Eve had in the Garden of Eden. That is what means peace with God. Sin had made us enemies of God. But Jesus came and took that sin away from us so that we are no longer enemies but we have peace with God. Before we know what other kinds of peace there are, you have to know that you have to have peace with God. That is the first step of anything that you can do. And that is, called salvation. That is what we call being saved. And I hope each and every one of you here is saved. We'll move on. There's not only peace with God, but there's also peace from God. Peace from God. that we receive from God. John chapter 14 verse 27 says, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid That is a wonderful moment That Jesus is speaking to His disciples At the end of His ministry On earth And then later A few chapters later After His resurrection Jesus comes and appears Before His disciples In a closed room the disciples were afraid of what was going to happen to them the fear was very very thick in that room they were afraid of their lives the one that they had committed their lives a big part of their adult life is now gone and at that very time disciples even though they walk with Jesus they learn from Jesus for three years they were still afraid there was fear inside of them they were afraid of what Pharisees and the Jews were going to do to them at that very moment Jesus came and appeared to them he came and stood in the midst of them and he said peace be with you in our lives as well we go through different times when we are afraid of many things Let me remind you. Let me serve a God who comes and stands in front of you. He doesn't stand far away from you. He stands right there where you are in that place of fear that you experience. And He tells you. peace be with you. Peace be with you. And that perfectly illustrates what we have been talking about in the last few verses. He came in the next verse in John chapter 20. He comes and shows them his wounds on his hands and on his chest. He was showing them his hands and his side Obviously for the purpose of identifying himself to them But I believe he was also saying These wounds that I am showing you That is why I can tell you That peace be with you His death on the cross made it possible for Him to offer that peace to us. The peace from God. But here's the best news of all. There's not only peace with God. there's not only peace from God but there's also peace of God and that is the best of all the peace of God we read about in Philippians chapter 4 here's what Paul wrote to the Philippian believers be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God and now watch this and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. According to Paul, the peace of God acts like a soldier that is guarding your heart. That soldier is walking back and forth in front of your heart. And he is guarding your heart. from all the assaults that the world and the devil brings against you. The guilt in your life. The worries in your life. The threats against your life. The confusions against you. The uncertainties in your life. The persecution that you face from others. all those attacks that the devil brings against you this soldier, the peace of God is guarding your heart they all threaten your peace all of these things threaten your peace but Paul says that God wants to guard your heart He wants to guard our heart with the peace that He provides. What a great God that we serve. All those problems that are coming against us. All the persecutions that we face. All those things that are trying to take the peace out of you. the peace of God blocks all of them. I like that picture to remind myself that God's soldier is walking in front of my heart. And He is trying to keep all that junk out of my heart. Anything that is trying to destroy my peace. Amen. I want you all to cultivate that peace in your heart. And there are ways that you can have and cultivate that peace in your heart. When Jesus was teaching His disciples, He was telling them at the end that He was going to go back to heaven. And He told them that it is a good thing that I am going back to heaven. Because when He would go back to heaven, He would send the Holy Spirit for us. And that Holy Spirit is going to take His place in this world. You might be asking, how is the Holy Spirit better than the Son of God? That is not what I'm saying. When Jesus Christ was on this earth, He was limited by His, He was a human. He was God and He was human He had the limitations of a human being Just like we are humans We are in this auditorium And we can only be in this auditorium Even though our minds could be somewhere else I know some of you are thinking about a lot of other things you could be thinking about the war in Ukraine right now you could be thinking about the war in Middle East right now you know our minds are a free spirit it is one of the most fascinating things in our bodies our minds can be anywhere in this world it can be in any country in this world without a visa but our bodies are here when Jesus was here on this earth he was in the land of Israel when the Holy Spirit came to this world he could be anywhere in this world at the same time that is what Jesus is saying the Holy Spirit will come to live within the heart of every single person who puts their trust in me therefore through the Holy Spirit I will be available to you wherever you are wherever you go whatever you do the Bible teaches us that and we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. The Holy Spirit comes to dwell inside of us. And He becomes our eternal Savior. And He is the one who brings us peace. For each and every one of us, no matter where we are, you could be at the other end of the world. The Holy Spirit is there. And He gives you that peace of God. Amen. In John chapter 16 verse 33, Jesus is finishing His speech to His disciples about going back to heaven. And then He says, These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. All of these things that he just mentioned. All of these things come to that precipice. It says that so that you may have peace. The fruit of the spirit, the Bible says, is love, joy, peace. So when you have Holy Spirit in you, you have the possibility of peace in your life. And the Bible tells us that peace is the inevitable result of the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of you. You might be asking how would I know if the Holy Spirit is controlling my life? You know by the quietness within you when there is turmoil around you. How do I know if the Holy Spirit is controlling my life when things around me are coming apart? when you feel hopeless, when things are not going according to your plan, let me tell you this, that there is a little sense in my heart that I am going to be okay. God is with me that I am going to make it. That is what God says when He gave us His Holy Spirit. Amen. We all have problems in our lives. It could be health, it could be family, it could be financial, psychological, a lot of, all sorts of problems. if anyone tells you that they don't have any problem tell them to write a book no one is going to read it because everybody in this world have problems but when you have Jesus and the Holy Spirit inside of you in the midst of those problems you will have peace you will have peace of God you will have peace of God not only will you have peace of God but you will be able to manifest it in people around you It could be in your job. It could be in your school. It could be wherever you go. That peace of God can radiate out of you. People will look at you and see the problems that you have or problems that everybody is facing. they will see that amazing peace that you show in your life and that is a great witness that you can share with other people without even saying anything in your workplaces you can show peace you can be an agent of peace in my work there are many times where I can offer that peace in a person's life there are many things one of the things that always brings sorrow or strain in our life is our health when the doctor tells you that you have such and such disease, you always, you know, you go down, you feel down, you feel anxious, you don't know. The first thing that you ask is, am I going to die? I cannot accept the fact that we cannot explain something. So when you experience this peace in your life, this is beyond understanding. This is beyond our understanding. That is why others cannot understand this. That is why other people cannot experience this. In 1871, if you know history, there was a great fire in Chicago. Almost all of the city burned down. He lost all of his investments He lost a lot of money in that fire You might be thinking well that is terrible Well, that is terrible. So what? But it doesn't end there for him. He had five kids. His youngest one was a four-year-old son. He died because of a medical illness during when all these things were happening. He lost all his money. He lost his youngest son. His family was going through a lot of grief. And so he finally decided we need to take a break from all this and take some time off. So he told his wife and his four daughters, let's go to England on vacation. And so he put his wife and his four daughters on the ship to England. He stayed behind. He was going to join with them later because he had all the insurance and paperwork and all that to be done because of the fire. And what happened was on the way to England, that ship that had his wife and four daughters, it got into an accident. The ship sank very fast. All his four daughters died in that crash. His wife survived. She was rescued. And she was taken to England. And she sent a telegram to Horatio Spafford. And she said, I am the only one that's arrived among our family. What should I do? And so he replied, stay there. I will be with you shortly. And so he took the next ship to England. And that route was on the same route as where the other ship had sank. Around that place where the other ship sank, the captain of the ship slowed the ship down and told Horatio, this is approximate location where your daughters have drowned. If you want to say a prayer or pay some respects to your daughters, you can do so right now. If you want to say something or give something to your children, you can do it here. This would be the perfect time for Horatio to be mad and angry at God. And this time for Horatio, it could be a great time for Horatio to be mad at the ship for losing his daughters. But the words that came out of Horatio Spafford at that time, When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well with my soul It is well with my soul It is well with my soul I want all of us to be an agent of peace. No matter what is happening around us, have the peace of God that passes all understanding. You might not understand why Horatio Spafford said like that in the midst of him losing everything, almost everything in his life. No one can explain it. Medicine cannot explain it. Psychology cannot explain it. Nothing can explain it. Only the peace of God can make you say those words. May this peace of God reign in your lives. Hallelujah. We're going to sing this hymn and we're going to end this. When peace like a river attended my way when sorrows like sea billows roll whatever my law thou hast taught me to say it is well it is well with my soul. It is well with my soul. It is well, it is well with my soul. It is well with my soul. It is well, it is well with my soul. May God bless you. Hallelujah Hallelujah. The word of God was very clear in this morning to all of us. And God is ready to offer His peace to each and every one of us in this morning. And let us all bow our heads and ask God to fill us with this peace. And this peace comes from His Son. And this peace comes from His word. And this peace we can receive through the prayer. Whatever situation that you are in this morning, you feel that world is revolving around you. The storms and the winds are against you. and we have a God who walks in the midst of the storm and He is ready to offer His peace to us not like the world offers He is going to offer His own peace to us and ask the Lord in this morning fill me with your peace Lord why can't we all stand up for a moment and let us respond to the word that we received in this morning and is anyone in this congregation today are you crying out for the peace in this morning this is your time pray out to God for his peace the world offers fall peace many things in the world says that it will give peace but it won't even stay for a minute in your life the only peace that gives the real peace is with Jesus Christ And the truth of your love is not. My dear brothers and sisters, the pastor today's word was so clear through the pastor. And this peace is coming from God to you.
